re: the one above, obviously the girl in the picture has better taste in watches than the man in the picture. how embarrassing

  2. so one of the tab screws on my breitling blackbird fell off, and i'm wondering what people who have had this happen in the past have done. will one of our trusted dealers source replacement screws (i doubt it)? if not, has anyone found a source for screws that works for breitilng bezel tabs?

i searched and found that ofrei has a bunch of different boxes of mixed screws; anybody tried any of these before?

alternatively, if someone has a spare blackbird bezel they would be willing to sell (or even better, a spare screw )?

    thanks in advance :victory:

  3. As far as the color being darker, I didn't see that when I got a chance to see the gen today. Could be the lighting one of the posters was under when he made that observation.

so did you have the two side by side B? if so, any more thoughts / conclusions? sounds like this one might be a winner :tu:

  4. One of the long-timers here tells a story of going into a Rolex AD and being called out on his Gen vintage single Red, because the Rolex sales girl thought all Rolex bezels *must* click and be uni-directional to be genuine.

A salesperson is a salesperson ... most of the time.

The story continues that an older gentleman behind the counter whisked her aside and took the watch in his own hands and almost wept over it. He knew his stuff, but she did not.

jkay you've got your story wrong :acute:

it wasn't single red -- it was double red!! ;)

ps, no, it wasn't mine (unfortunately)

  5. also if you look close you can see some light spotting (tiny white pinpoint dots) on the dial; i'm guessing this one was flooded at some pointed, at the very least relumed and as nanuq has pointed out, potentially repainted as well.

i'd tell your friend to keep looking; there are plenty of great 1675s out there. this one is a particularly nice set (albeit pricey for a normal 1675); throw some new hands on there and you have a watch for the ages ;)

just kidding of course. welcome to RWG -- it really is one the most amazing (and easily accessible) resources out there. at first you will probably feel like you are drinking out of a firehose (especially with regard to PAM model numbers and various abbreviations), but worry not -- you will soon find yourself right at home (and nitpicking every little detail on the reps you end up purchasing :bangin:).

thanks for introducing yourself; don't hesitate to jump right in and join the discussion :gathering:
