  1. This time of year can get annoying, even more so that I have more watches than I've ever had!

The easiest ones to change are the true GMT ones, which operate like a genuine Rolex GMT Master or Omega Seamaster GMT or Tag Heuer Link Chrono, that have independently settable hour hands.

This way you just jump one hour without having to change the minutes and seconds and then re-synchronize if you want accurate time.

A watch with an independent GMT hand won't allow you to do this, so sadly even the genuine PAM GMTs will have to be set just like all "normal" watches. :yucky:

  2. first off, there is an easy fix for this, guys: order straps off the dealers' website, using your real name and a valid credit card and I guarantee there will be no attempt to verify your watch's authenticity.

i'm pretty board w/ the whole paneristoid schtick except to say, imagine for a minute that it is slowly dawning on you that you have been victimized by a pretty sophisticated marketing organization into paying 5 grand for a $500 watch, a watch so basic in it's design and manufacture that it can be copied in china accurately closely that 99.9% of the people who see it won't be able to tell if its real or fake, and easily enough that it can be sold for a couple hundred bucks. I think, given that state of affairs we all would be a little shrill when the non-duped display their watches.

tThe last line of defense is money: "Hey, I can afford to be a chump!"

It's no skin off of our asses to let them have their tiny little undesereved superiority complexes in peace, so why don't we just let them be?

    Agree with you.

I'm sure some people bought a Panerai to have an expensive watch!

And of course *many* rep buyers want it to have a nice watch as well as something that looks expensive, or is perceived to be expensive.

  3. Continue offtopic

Drogba just admitted handball and diving on TV

    First goal was class though

Yes great first goal :thumbsupsmileyanim: , so were Garcia's and Kewell's :yeah:

My sister will be hoping for a Spurs win to increase their lead of Arsenal...

Back on topic, I haven't bought any straps yet, money is tight and I prefer getting more reps, but I will look around. I'm not sure about looking at TC ones now, the names that came up were Don and others. Also banda look good. Only problem is importing "exotic" bands.

    :yu:

  4. In the grand scheme of things, its probably a damn sight easier to press the links out of 14k gold than steel

Most midlinks I've seen have been plated and you can clearly see this by looking through the link side on.. But I'm not denying that solid links "dont exist"..

But even if the mid links are solid you've still got a plated bezel and crown :(

If you're into modding, then there is a guy who has sub and yacht-master solid 18k gold bezels. about 150 GBP. I don't know where to get solid gold crowns, but as far as I know, genuine Rolexes use a genuine triple-wrap as gold is too soft for everyday use, and the crown is the part that is most likely to get a lot of use.

  5. It's always fun to see Bond w/ those Rolex subs on his wrist in the early pics. I remember when Thunderball came out, that's when I first started to pick up on the Rolex Submariner. It cost $210 back in 1965!

I hope you bought one (or more!) at the time :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. Sorry guys but A LOT of you are still missing the big picture...... We have got to be fair across the board....a trusted member was caught out SCAMMING....yes SCAMMING innocent buyers and is this person still a member of RWG.....HELL YES!!! I have nothing against this member still being active as long as they have changed and agree not to do that shi* again........SECOND CHANCE!!!

Yet what elliot did in the past is SOOOOOOO bad that NOONE can forgive him.....grow the FU*K up guys this is ridiculous. Elliot never scammed anyone I know he personally attacked a lot of you and that you don't like him, but no matter what his motives are monetary or otherwise he still deserves a second chance......until he proves us wrong.

Most of the civilsed world is built on the premice that someone is innocent until proven guilty....until he does something to prove he has not changed the leave the guy alone...........Start worrying more about the people who are trying to rip off other members........saying mods were done by RBJ to up the price of their watch sale when Joe hasn't even seen there watch let alone modded it.........and members taking money for things then Pissing off without so much as a PM or email..........or people pretending to be DW to scam people out of money.

We have bigger problems than a legit strap dealer.....get a FU**ING grip guys this is pathetic........you forgive a scammer then chastise a guy for life cos he said some "nasty" things to you.......which do you think is worse???????

Who were these dealers who were scamming ? I must be too new to rep forums (December 05) and maybe missed out on everything? The only scam I seem to have seen is with the RWG watch, apart from the obvious websites.

  7. It's not an allergy but just a consequence of the CG and caseback rubbing the skin!! Not painful or anything like that - just one of them things!!

My first reaction ... eek! :o

Wear the watch on your right hand, I've always done this to stop the crown digging into my hand as I wear it pretty low down right up against my hand. This is even more necessary on a PAM! Also a reason I havent got a lefty PAM yet.

  8. I don't think I'm the best to talk about it as I don't own a TC product or was directly involved with elliot...

But the fact is this guy threatened some of us,

he mentioned that we should be taken care of, and be revealed to Richemont

he mentioned that we were a small amount of his business...

Now he makes a move for money and he is allowed to evolve around us...

I say beware, I personally tend not to trust people who moves only for money...question is : is Elliot moving only for money or has he got another motivation that requires evolving around us?

Good point, more straps sold to rep collectors, means he gets more names and addresses that could potentially be given out to undesireables ?

  9. I have been and will always be a Zenith fan. The El Primero movment is the best movement out there. If you look around eBay, you can get a Rainbow or Port Royal for around the kind of money you are talking about. The Port Royal is nice because it makes a decent dress watch, but could be worn for almost any occasion. UNderstated and elegant. No pretense.

    -O

We got something in common, I got a Zenith El Primero Rainbow recently... great watch :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Came with a video too! :D
