  1. I just put my PloProf back on the rubber and figured I had to do something about that clasp so I grinded down the marked area with my Dremel so that the edges are flush against each other. It seems to have done the trick, it now stays the way you adjust it. An easy fix that still lets you use the micro adjustment. I hope this helps a few of you with the same problem.
  2. I think 25 crystals (or more) will sell pretty easy since I think a lot of people are holding off on the PloProf until there's a fix for the crystal issue. 50% up front is no problem as long as I get a nice looking double AR sapphire crystal in the end.
  3. I'm in! Can't wait to get this fixed!
  4. I just love how the rep community is working together to fix this problem.
  5. Have anyone had any success separationg the sapphire from the mg? I have three crystals now and I'm thinking I could make a three layer sapphire crystal from them and see if it'll work.
  6. I'd say the quality is pretty good. It's a little more complicated than a normal crown but it works well and screws down pretty smooth if you're careful. It doesn't feel like it wants to cross the threads but the extra crown guard piece makes it a little harder to operate. I don't own any other Omega reps to compare it to.
  7. It's hard to tell. All reflectoins seem to have a blue tone, so maybe it's double AR but it's not even close to the double AR on my Sinn U1 rep.
  8. I ordered it on the 25:th so it took a week to get to Sweden.
  9. Just greased the gaskets. I was able to remove the case back with my fingers, so if you get one, make sure to tighten the back before any encounters with water. This watch should be fairly watertight but keep the crown screwed down tight. The design of the crown system only seals the watch when the crown is screwed down. At least as far as I could tell from looking at it. Three more pics for you guys:
  10. I just got my PloProf from Trusty! See more pics and info here: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/117671-pics-and-thoughts-on-the-new-ploprof/
  11. I was just at the post office and picked up my new PloProf! Here are some info for you guys: The button is pressable but doesn't do anything. The bezel is bi-directional 60 clicks. The lume is perfect! The dial, hands and bezel all match in color and intensity and glow with a cool blue shine. The clasp has micro adjustment that feels pretty cheap but it works. The crown screws down nicely but feels a little wobbly and loose, probably due to its design. The rubber strap feels like it is of good quality and has a faint smell of vanilla. The bezel is black like it should be. On my watch one of the 12 o'clock markers looks like it might fall off, it sticks up a bit from the dial surface. QC could be better as always. Some pics of this beast:
  12. First thing I'll do is grease the gaskets and have it tested for WR.
  13. My Trusty PloProf just cleared customs and I'll have it on monday! It'll be a long weekend
  14. Look again. The only thing they got right with the 21J version is the logo. The date window is too small and in the wrong place, the hands look a little off, the lume is nowhere close to the original, the bezel doesn't look tall ennough, the strap is too thin and it says SPEEDMASTER on the back! Could be a nice watch for a homage project, but not as a rep.
  15. Just got the tracking number on my PloProf from Trusty today. I'll post some pics when it gets here.
  16. 24mm on the gen, so I expect this is the same.
  17. I just clicked the order button! Now the wait begins. I just hope they'll rep the orange strap and the mesh bracelet too. Too bad about the happy feet logo, but hey it's like half the price I expected it to be. If it's good I'll put a Swiss ETA in it and use it as a real beater and give it some nice battle scars.
  18. I just got an email from one of the dealers... "In about 2 weeks time." was his answer to when it will arrive.
  19. I want one on orange rubber now!
  20. I used a small oiler to apply the lume. I need to get me some sort of magnifier too for my next attempt.
  21. Thanks! I'll just keep practicing until I feel confident ennough to do it on a "real" watch. Here is a link to the seller, just noticed it was $8.99. But let me remind you, it's a real piece of garbage. No seals anywhere, the case is painted aluminum and the movement is a joke, but for practice purposes it's good. It allso made me start looking for a nice B&R rep.
  22. Thanks! I used bergeons kit with powder, varnish and thinner. I started working without any thinner in the mix and when I did the numbers I added some thinner and that made it easier to work with but not as bright so I think two layers of the mix with thinner would be perfect. Here are two close up shots.
  23. I got this B&R style watch off the bay for $8 shipped. It's a total piece of junk but I got it just to practice reluming so for that it's ok. I know it's nowhere close to perfect but with a little more practice I might work up the courage to do this to my Sinn rep. What do you think?
  24. Motor City Watch Works for ETA snowflake hands (and some Seiko stuff). The "cmaster" hour and minute hands will fit ETA movements for a better looking MilSub rep.
  25. I'm still rocking this bad boy.
