  1. Nice watches - who was the dealer?
  2. Just make sure you wear a better quality rep next time he's in
  3. I've got an SMP from PT. This came with screws which I know isn't the same as the original but it's much easier to change the bracelet length compared to pins. Mine was a bit still but a good dowse of 3-in-1 overnight and a few weeks wear loosened it up.
  4. That replacement doesn't look very good with the gap. WHy don't you contact a few of the dealers on the board and see if they can get a replacement for you. If you offer to pay I'm sure one of them could help you.
  5. OK. Had a look at Ofrei and Cousins (I'm in the UK) but can't find what I need - most probably because they have SOOO much stuff. Can I just buy the crown or do I need the stem as well?
  6. Nice watch. Was the HE position land winding crown like this when you got it or have you had mods done?
  7. I've got an SMP from PT which is a great quality watch. I've realigned the bezel to math the original. The only thing letting it down now is the crown protrutes too much compared to the original. Is it possible to change the crown and stem for a better one (maybe even OEM)?
  8. Yes its a real watch. VC produced it for the 250th anniversary - Hence the name 1755 Jubilee. More here and here
  9. Precious Time also has a very good one. Read the link from By-Tor its the definitive review of this model.
  10. I got an auto 1755 in rose gold from Josh for a lot less - not a chronograph though.
  11. I'd remove the hologram sticker but keep the price tag one on so everybody can see how much I paid
  12. I haven't visited the "OLD" site for a month or so, is it still up and running?
  13. Great find. The good thing about DVDs is you can freeze frame with decent quality and take a good look!
  14. Following By-tor I've gone for the red/black GMT
  15. Nice looking watch. I like the clean simple lines, it looks a bit like my Fortis day/date
  16. Well, the more people think there are only crappy fakes around the better for us!
  17. I'm not too sure. I don't think it's sapphire, I've tried the water drop test and it doesn't bead up. I suspect its mineral, especially for the price. Its not a great issue for me anyway as its not an every day watch, just when I want something a bit different and dressy.
  18. No filter just careful positioning on the kitchen table to avoid reflections!, plus a decent macro lens on the camera.
  19. Thats partly the lighting. The face of the watch itself is quite shiny so in direct light its sometimes difficult to see the writing properly, especially as its small! In soft light the face looks much better, but not as much bling!
  20. The blue is quite a bit darker in reality, I don't think it looks fake. After all how many people would ever know this watch anyway and if they did they sure as hell know I can't afford a real one!!
  21. Recently got the excellent watch from Josh Nana . Luckily just timed it as he got pp payment back. Received watch in the UK within about 8 days! It's a beautiful watch and has lots of presence on the wrist. Enjoy the pictures!!
  22. I've used the flexible Garryflex blocks on my SMP to great effect. You can get them in the UK here I'm sure they are available where you are as well.
  23. Looking at getting a 1665 from Luckyyy but wanted to check how waterproof the MBW watches are? Don't expect to go to the depths of a real sea dweller! Shower and the odd paddle will do! Any comments?
  24. Excellent pics!. The WHite SS is VERY high up on my wish list. Do you have the latest movement? ALso how is the time accuracy so far?
  25. I soaked my bracelet in 3-in-1 oil, really worked it into the bracelet and left overnight. Then cleaned it up with soap and a tootbrush, then it was silky smooth. BTW - The PT SMP I got doesn't like its bracelet cleaning with anything abrasive (they might all be like this). I did it and took off the brushed finish! Looked pretty good but not like original. You can put it back but its a real bugger to do and takes a couple of hours. Learnt my lesson and won't be doing that again I think all of the crowns are a bit wobbly so don't worry about it, with a bit of calibrating I've got mine down to +- 3 seconds a day so don't need to take out the crown that often
