That was incredible! Great job!

From what I understand the new Yuki cases have the crown tubes glued in, instead of, or in addition to threaded. Also, my case appears to fit my 1575 from a pie-pan datejust without modification.

Last question.
Where does one source the sealed blister packs?

@vlydog, looks like we have sister projects going. I got my start buying the majority of gen parts off of Yachtmaster:
Lets stay connected.
Here is my parts list, what I have:
Gen Dial
Gen Insert
Gen Crown & Tube
Gen 1575 Movement Silver/Flat 3
Gen Crystal
Yuki Case (old version, non-glued tube)
Needed Parts:
Hands
Bracelet
Springbars
Budget:
Goal stay below $2000
Currently at: $1800
Most of that $$$ is the Gen 1575.
Lets keep in touch!

Great info Ubi and Zig,
My take away from this is: Unless it is in the ETA Sealed Pak, Service it.
It is sort of misleading to think if you have a bad movement, you can simply buy a replacement from Ofrei and R&R it.

Even though it is a work in progress, and my DRSD dial for it has arrived, there is something about this that I can't take my eyes off. Someday it will be a completed DRSD, but even in SRSD form I like it. It has only been on my wrist for about 4 hours in the year I have had it.

I am curious, what is Ofrei selling? Are the ETA's he provides ready for prime time or not?

The title of your post got me thinking. Who makes the Best Daytona - Cost not an issue
As mentioned, a super franken with gen parts is going to put you into the thousands. Lets assume $4000.
Although I can only speak about my AD, you could presently pick up a SS Daytona for between $9100 used and $12,000 new.
Lets assume you can negotiate a new Daytona down to 10,000.
$10,000
-4000 (you would spend on super franken)
---------
$6000 remainder. FINANCE it. Many AD's aree offering 12/mo same as cash.
Still a bit $$$$ but you will have the real deal...
