Just as an update, I whipped off the insert on my rep SMP as I have a replacement I got off Ebay and it looks like it will fit with minimal modding.

One concern is that the crystal seems etched heavily with the QOS logo. As on the genuine at certain angles you can't see it at all.

Very nice, how much did you get the dial for if you don't mind me asking ? Wouldn't mind doing a similar build myself. I fancy either a white face/gold combo or blue and gold like the limited edition 007 India only model. Is your quartz dial actually for the mid size version ?

I suppose it depends on what case your SMP uses as there are many different ones.

I never seem to see them that cheap in the UK. Even Quartz go for silly money.

Anybody got the two watches to compare as the case looks the same to me bar the HE ?

Been thinking a lot lately about the Helium valve position problem. Would it not be possible to use a case from a GMT model and fit a HE to that case ?

After messing about for over a week trying to regulate my 42mm Chinese movement PO, I've got it to -2sec per 24H. Kept being -/+10 after first few tries, requires very small adjustment to get it just right.
