  7. Chad, i have had the same experience with my first buy. And I too had some difficulties, but they were solved by the dealer. Dealers don't need to be pampered, but if you have a complaint: take up communications and if that doesn't help don't start shouting, swearing & namegiving....just ask help on the forum and give it some time. and ofcourse : do before buying your research and buy only from 5 * dealers. Gerco
  8. Oh my god, you must be filthy rich to like this one..... (can you put in a pound of extra diamonds, please...)

  14. Strangly also the other way around happenes. When I feel the need to wear a specific watch, i'll adjust my shirt, tie & suit with it. Thinking of it: that's kindoff happened often recently..... Gerco
  15. You're right. I had the same experience with a pam. On a distance it looks all the same. You need to get close to make the difference. In this case it was easy: It ad a fake tourbillion and the dial was marked: Panerai luminor tourbillion......must have been russian, because the guy bought it overthere. Gerco
  16. Hi Ken, thanks, but we're doing all right. She's working again as a debt collector and I've switched to a managerial job: a real desk-jockey. No more working nights and weekends with long hours 80-100 hours, but a regular 8-1 job with 40 hours. First i hated it, but now i'm used to it. It's a matter of adapting your life. Sadly no more sports for me, no more motorbikes, no more parachuting. And it's the same for her. So we both went into scubadiving. Mostly i'm missing my bike, but a nice 3.0 6 cyl. jag with 250 hp is a reasonably replacement. Gerco
  17. Could be a ifo u-boat http://www.u-boatwatch.nl/ My sis wears one Gerco
  18. Great to hear, Ken I know the struggle myself, broke my neck 14 years ago. And 5 years ago my gf went in a coma after a traffic accident, but she's back to 80 % of her normal health as before. So keep the fait !!! Gerco
  19. It's a truly sad world outthere.....the wrong guys are getting the beemers.....

  21. Thanks Pugwash, The word didn't pop up when I wrote the posting. Jon Up North: nice post, you really got the pointers right !!! Gerco
  22. Well, as i wrote in another post: each morning i make a choice wich suit to wear (black, brown, blue or grey, with stripings or not) . Than i choose the shirt. Normal or buttoned down, white, black, yellow, blue, pink etc..... Next is the silk tie ( have 120 +, small addiction) with fitting "manchetknopen" the things you put in your sleeves (dont know the english word for it.) and next: the matching watch ! fully dressed up: IWC / glashutte etc slightly casual: Panerai / omega etc casual: rolex, storm, seiko, nautica, citizen and panerai Gerco
  23. [quote name=Pugwash' date='Aug 5 2006, 10:24 PM' post='98291] As this is cross-posted, I'll poist my reply on RWI here as well: It's not our place to nanny the dealers too much. This is, essentially, their problem and they are working on a solution. The simplest solution is no paypal for noobs. Anything else is too much like pulling the ladder up after ourselves. "Sure, noobs are dangerous, but I'm not." The shady dealings are far too diverse to be an concerted effort and paranoia is going to give us a bigger stick with which to beat newbies for being new, and that's not a good thing. The dealers, the largest victims in this problem, are talking. They will work something out. And if they can't, they'll turn to us for help.
  24. Hi Ken, I hope you'll get wel soon & able to get back into the music ! Gerco
  25. Hmmmm, i'm doing something wrong......that must be the best top job there is Gerco
