They do it every year - Renault are pretty good to their customers like that
Dealerships still appear to be the usual hit and miss affair lol but they are at least one of the manufacturers who concentrates on developing cars for those of us who actually like to drive, rather than just travel!!
EDIT: I just found this smiley
lol

If you can wait till some point in 2010, you will probably be able to get your name down for a pre-order on a WM9 DSSD as I believe that's in the pipeline for development, following delivery of the SD that is being worked on at the moment!

Wow, that's some serious dedication to get all that lot together, ubi! Both financially and patience-wise! lol

Seems as though Zenith has taken a rather extreme direction change since Thierry Nataf was put in charge. A lot of his designs and ideas were very niche, and the entire line seemed to become a little more bizarre and unusual with each year passing. I guess his recent departure from the CEO role a few months back shouldn't come as a huge surprise in that sense; it seems as though he's only isolated the brand to a select few that would appreciate the new direction the brand was taking instead of trying to appeal to a broader customer base for that market share. Afterall, in times of economic slow down like the one we're currently seeing, turn over for such items in general slows considerably; if you're making strange, eccentric watches that only appeal to a few, I can bet that sales numbers dropped like a rock.
If there's one upside to the whole design implementation Nataf was responsible for, it's the cross platform sharing of ideas with TAG under the LVMH umbrella. Seems as though TAG was able to incorporate some of those concepts sucessfully, by taking the designs to a lesser extreme while innovating complication and function. I see a lot of Zenith influence in TAG's designs, but the style and execution is what discerns the two in my eyes.
There speaketh a man with infinitely more knowledge than me!

The B&R 03 isn't bad, IMHO.
The back is good as the gen doesn't have the screws for removable lugs like the 01, therefore the rep is accurate in this respect, and I'm pleased to see that everything's spelt correctly lol
The dial is alright as the printing looks pretty good, but I'm not sure they ever released the orange dial version in a SS case - I think they were all PVD, in which case this is a bit of a fantasy model. I may be wrong though...
Either way, the orange dial is a Ltd Edition of 250 pieces iirc, so you're unlikely to see another one!
This orange is different to the gen though, IMO, and the lume is very probably non-existent.
At least the datewheel isn't too sunken, and the white numbers are correct!
Have a look on the Bell and Ross website/forum as they have some pictures somewhere on there.

Ah, cool, understood!

Thank you

I wouldn't know where to start repping a watch, but I would have thought that comparing two things side by side, even if one's a picture, wouldn't be that hard... lol
-
Mint!
But not very cheap... lol

I like that strap Donerix
where did you get it
I like something like this as well...
Where's that one from?
It's nice!
-
The Ti case it told to be about 20g lighter than stainless steel.
My watch weights exaclty 70g without strap. The movement itself is can be about 20g.
Cool, many thanks for the info
20g doesn't sound a lot but then it's a fair amount when compared to the full SS weight!
Also, I too highly recommend you put a white primer spray beneath the new lume. You may compare how it affects the final lume in this old post of mine: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=20785Great link, thanks!

Glad to hear it! I can't wait to get mine
I've just had the email from Chris regarding approval/disapproval/comments on the second one he's sourced for me - the first had a section of the outer ring of the subdial missing so, thanks to the fact that Eurotimez offer photographs before shipping, I've been able to save the hassle of sending that first one back!
The second one I'm just waiting for someone to check the same issue - I think the factory/ies subdial printing processes may need to be slightly tweaked to ensure even thickness all round the subdial outer ring?
Either way, so far I'm very happy with Eurotimez
although I get the feeling they're going to fed up with me wanting perfection, or as near as it gets in a rep
lol
If you're reading this, Chris, I appreciate all your efforts!!

Ooooooh.....
*starts planning* lol
-
From what I've heard, half the time you will receive the watch before the EMS tracking is updated!
Sit tight, 4 days isn't long
lol
-
Well its been a while....
For friday this
Apologies for what is probably a n00b question (I really do need to read up on my PAMs!) but is that Titanium?
If it is, how does it wear compared to steel? Much lighter? Does it look that much different to brushed steel? The colour difference appears to be very subtle!
Thanks
-
Nice!
Looks like they've used the sapphire to mount the movement on, like that PP(?) with the blue sapphire background that's also a ridiculous amount lol

I am so sorry, haven't had my tea yet, and for some reason I read the post as a sales one, my apologies.
Understood on the stock picture. The Dark Grey lume is cool, but the glow is quite faint, ok if your a SEAL I guess and don't want to be spotted.
I agree on keeping it, I like the uniqueness of it, same goes for my Fiddy with the old pocket watch movement, it's unique and a one of a kind. Sadly I don't have my Stealth 212 anymore, but I can always make another if I get the urge. It's the only one I have ever used the Dark Grey lume on, it's not a popular colour.
That is a hard watch to photograph, your probably better if you exposed somewhere other than the dial, it being completely black makes the rest of the picture over exposed.
Thanks for the feedback.
Without wishing to take this off topic, I loved that 212 - you should definitely consider doing more!

Stukov,
Two things.
1. Great watch.
2. Love the Avatar but please consider changing it for those of us who view this forum from work as it isn't boss friendly.
Thanks!
+1 lol
The yellow one is quite bright!
How does the Ti compare to Steel in weight? I've seen cases that appear to only be 10 grams difference, which wouldn't appear to be that much?
-
I love this watch
Thanks for the selection of pictures!
It's a shame about the black lume not being great but then I guess there's only so much you can do to make a black substance glow lol

I believe there are still some from the company I bought it from online. I bought it from Canepa Design located in California. Go to their homepage and type in Carrera RS Lightweight in the SOLD section. If you cant find it I might upload some pics this coming week when I am back from Sequim for my mothers birthday.
I've had a look and found a one on there but from the description it's not your one!
They are lovely though, supposed to be one of the all time great drives
Although, if you're in america, do you know what corners are?
LoL

lol
I'd buy it, take it to get serviced, 'find out' it's all wrong then take him to court and win $$$$$$

i left my fiddy in to my local jeweller so he could send it away to his independent watchsmith for a jewel replacement (funny my jeweller wouldn't tell me his name address or contact number) on return my jeweller started asking me strange questions about the watch. it was if he didnt believe me it was a rep...... thing is the watchsmith told him it was a real fiddy and not a rep.
my reply was if i had a watch like that would i still be driving a 1997 VW golf with 210000 miles on the clock
Yes, because all your money would be in the watch
lol
You should have asked what price he'd give you
Well wishes for our friend Lanikai!
