  1. Yeah, it was originaly a Lightweight so, it has Leightweight serial no's but, during a racing accident it was virtually totaled. It was rebuilt into a Carrera RS Touring and painted a White/Blue scheme. Under some paint chips you can still see the original yellow-orange :)

It is still a Lightweight at heart, in the engine and parts!

  2. Hey all,

I've been looking around for a B&R BR01 rep but have struggled to find any that are accurate and within my current (limited) budget.

I did however find this site:

    http://www.manbushijie.com/index.asp

Apart from being the worst site in the world to find anything on lol, I did find this sterile dial BR01 homage on it:

    http://www.manbushijie.com/productinfo.asp...9&catid=315

(I can deal with the incorrect back (no screws) as it's not a direct rep.)

Has anyone had any experience with the site? Is it risky?

I've only found one reference to it on here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...;hl=manbushijie

From what I've read on Watchgeek he's been good in the past but has since been stopped from selling on ebay due to Panerai getting funny about homages.

I also found references to Helenarou, who does appear to be able to get the same watch but in PVD, and from what I've read on here she has been around for long enough to have been established as a decent seller.

For the price of the SS version I'm tempted, although I have no idea of the movement (I guess it wouldn't be an accurate 28.8kbph...) and it's unlikely to be lumed...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks all :)

  3. erkahund on ebay lists a fair mix of stuff every so often, but you have to check back as he runs the listings then has nothing on for a while till he's dealt with the stuff he's sold.

I believe tourby_watches on ebay may also be able to source cases for you, but he's not cheap!

Schuhren are based in germany and build custom stuff as well, although you'd have to approach him to ask if he could source just a movement for you.

  4. It's crocodile (lightly sanded for a vintage look) with beige/offwhite stitiching.

    This is just got sold.

I have another one with black and one with silver-gray stitching.

    Many thanks :)

I will keep you in mind for when I have some spare cash!

  5. +1 for being good now - I didn't deal with him through the difficult patch as it was before I joined, but he is now responding to emails swiftly and appears to have his service up to standard. My issue with the first watch in the QC photos was accepted without hesitation and I'm waiting for some macro pics of the replacement before I sign it off.

So far I'm happy. I'm looking forward to getting the watch!

  6. Oh, getting slightly back on topic ;)

Is there really a weight difference between the SS and Ti cases?

It looks to be 85g vs 75g, which isn't really a lot, and I was expecting a bigger difference given what I've read on here about Ti being so light!

I'm undecided on the Ti or brushed SS finish so advice and comments would be gratefully received :)
