Here are the genuine Valjoux day/date wheels with white lettering. I think the font is very close if not the same as the IWC. It's certainly good enough for the rep and miles better than the asia effort.
-
Those are the ones. They were not a stocked item until I ordered mine from them. I assume you are joking at the expensive price!!!! When I'm back home next week I will post pics of them as the font is pretty close to the IWC and they may fit the asian movement as a mod. The Zigmeister may be able to confirm this.
-
The wheels came direct from ETA through Cousins in the U.K. who I also bought the movment from. They were quite cheap too and will look very close to the IWC font.

Eddie replied to me yesterday and was waiting for the forwarder to find out what had happened. No claim will be made and we have agreed a solution and another watch is being sent. I CANNOT fault Eddie in the way he has dealt with my problems!
I hope the next one arrives!!! I have a swiss7750 and new black date/day wheels waiting for it!! and then I'll get in touch with The Zigmeister!

As far as I'm aware this was a private project between Eddie and another party. It's the first time that a model he has shown us first has never appeared anywhere else and not even River has it. At least it stays fairly exclusive.
-
I said about the sticker because all my previouis TW watches from River had the same sticker on the back. It does seem that Josh and Andrew are sourcing some higher finish Taiwan based models recently though.
-
The difference is the more accurate case and dial and best of all the swiss 2893 movement which far superior to the 2836 models. As long as it is genuine swiss of course!
The Sub is a TW judging by the details and the caseback sticker. Looking at my genuine Sub and this one on Josh's site, I would say it is as near perfect as you will get without modding too much.

Sorry in a bank vault already. Got offered 50K just for the freerunners [censored] all over the watch!!!!
-
That would make sense as I have been in contact with him through Ebay. He has a 72-700 crown tube though that is near impossible to get and I've got the crown to fit so I'm tempted.
His SD's do not look like MBW's though. They are expensive but look far superior to me.

Got an email today from this company and all they do are vintage reps with gen parts. It looks familiar to someone on Ebay but not sure.
-
I have sent an email to Eddie but what a suprise!! no response. The sender has to make the claim by proving the cost which is easy and showing proof of receipt which too should be easy. The possible bonus is that it past customs with no problem in 3 minutes so IWC may not be a problem to claim for. Very few have heard of them!
-
Actually after the premium was paid it cost me 103 thousand plus change!!!!!
-
You guy's have to trust By-tor!!!! He is very right on this one. Totally genuine in every way possible.
-
Great work The Zigmeister!!!!!! One thing I notice about the IWC is that you chose not to get the eta black day/date wheels to improve the font. All the same it looks very good and will last for a very long time now!

Got this beauty on my wrist today......you just can't beat a steel Sub!

Well Parcelforce UK officially declared my Pilot watch lost! today. I guess I will not be a lucky wearer of this lovley timepeice
Useless *********!!!!!!

I'm glad it turned up Kostas!! Enjoy my friend

So the case is actually bigger than the standard 100? It should be of course but the confirmation has held me back from purchase of this lovely watch.
-
Yes I think it is. I bought the crown on impulse for a vintage watch. I have since found this crown to be the first triplock crown no. 7020 for tube no. 702. It does not have the outer rubber seal but 3 inner seals. I'm going to countersink a 703 tube into a case so it will sit up fairly flush when done. Not sure whether to do my Daytona 6263 or my 1665 case..........I will update soon with the finished results.
-
Maybe, it's hard to tell from the pic. I'm going to call into my local Rollie dealer who sold me my SD last year and will hopefully give me an idea. Thanks for your response and help!
-
I don't think I'll ever have this on my wrist
It is nowhere to be seen and the very first time I've ever had an issue with a rep delivery. Ah well, enjoy yours guys!!!!
-
thanks but it has nothing to do with countersinking the tube as the vintage crown will not screw beyond the rubber seal. It is already countersunk for the newer crwon. I think I may have to modify a modern tube to fit if nothing appears on Ebay in the next few weeks.
-
I have just purchased an original perfect condition triplock crownn from a sixties Daytona/Sub/SD1665 with the more tapered inner edge( the experts will know the one hopefully) I intend fitting it to my 6263 or a 1665 SD MBW but I do not know which crown tube I need to look for. It threads onto a new style cousins triplock tube but not all the way as the early tubes were not as long and I'm hoping one of the mod guys can help me!
I had a quick look on Ebay but did'nt see anything. Can anyone help????!!!!!
Pics included to better understand what I mean. modern OEM crown on the left and next pic on my 6263 with modern triplock crown. It screws on but not all the way.

Glad your back Mark and my dial is great. Thanks! Some people are never happy whatever the scenario so I would'nt worry about it too much if at all!!!

I will respond with pictures when required.
I'm keen to see this because if it's good enough I will buy one for working in and save my lovely for best!
