  1. Blowers usually work on around 4-500 pounds on a Sub based on trade in values. Never pay a premium for a Submariner or Seadweller now because availability is much improved. 3 Rolex dealers close to me all have Subs in the window now plus SD's too. Here is a wristt pic of that same SuBmariner.

  2. I sold this to Blowers a few months ago and it is a Z serial from October 2006. I remember it well as I swapped it for an Sd before selling it to them in exchange for an IWC doppelchrono Fleiger. The cg's are not quite even on this one which is why I recognise it. The bezel insert is perfect, just not centered. Small world!!

  3. I have received an update from WM9 this morning with the following email. You can read into this what you want but I will remain unbiased until such time I have to change my viewpoint.

Thank you for shopping at WATCHMAKER9.TV.

Our watchmaker has scheduled making your Submariner 16610.

The making process takes about 9~15 working days and then the watch will undergo with a 48 hour test for reliability and water resistance. We fully test the reliable Swiss time keeping machine for 48 hour and fine tune each of them to meet the critical C.O.S.C standard before we ship a watch out.

The estimate delivery time of your order is Friday, Oct 26, 2007.

We shall see what happens. ^_^

  4. You are going to confuse the guy now! The vintage models will accept gen parts easier than the modern sub. Neither crown, tube, certainly not an insert without alterations and NOT tropic crystals(on modern version) will fit without modification to either the case or parts .

If you want to make an accurate Sub you need a 1680 vintage Sub and not the modern one without a lot of work!

  5. I have done that and received good responses from George so far. I'm testing the water on this and will just add that I have paid quite a bit less than $650.

I will keep updated and post pictures and thoughts when it arrives, whenever that is! I have been around a long time and most of you know that I will be honest about it and not here to promote this guys goods. If at the time I have a gen Sub in my possesion I will post comparison angles for you too. B)

  6. 2500 pounds is the limit for a 1990 Sub 16613 and a bit less for a black dias version. I bought one for 1250 a couple of months ago('L' serial) that just needed a good polish but did not have papers with it as they are pretty pointless on a watch that is 17 years old. It did have it's box and I sold it on for 1900 restored.

you cannot give Yachties away at the moment and this one should be no more than 3250 and offer 3000.

  7. Yes I did and never heard anything since. I would still be interested but not at $650+

I don't mind solid midlinks as it adds a better feel to the watch. I have this exact bracelet on a Sub I received from Eddielee a while ago. It is a good one with 3 peice end links and a nice clasp. I have sent an email to WM9 and we will see what happens this time and what price he offers me one for!

Just received an automated email back stating this:

    Dear Customer:

Due to the high volume of incoming email requests, there may be delays to your reply. I will try my best to answer your question as soon as possible. If I have not replied you in 48 hours, please give me another short message as a reminder for me to look up your previous email. My profound apologies if there is delay to your reply! And I appreciate your great support and patience.

Thank you! Have a wonderful day!

  8. I have just looked at Watchmaker9's website and the updated 2007 Sub now has better pictures with bracelet etc and it does look much better than other versions but not 1:1 yet. Also in the pics the watch appears to have a correct thick crown tube and crown. The position of the crown looks pretty good too. Hope fully the pics will show here. His price is a joke though!!

  9. He is a bit of a muppet to be honest! I bought a set of Sub hands from hiim and eventually sent Daytona hands. I sent them back and he says he never received them and then had the cheek to ask me to pay again through Ebay. I sent him a reply stating of that and having both lost something, I said forget it and don't leave any feedback. I will not use him again, it's not worth the hassle.

  10. If you have the UPO eta version then the hands should fit ok. The gen will have better lume though. As for the dial, one member tried this without success. The date window is different on the rep in that the date wheel is thinner than that of the 2500 movement fitted to the genuine watch. When he fitted the gen dial there was a gap on the date window becasue the wheel was not fat enough.

good luck with your mods. I chose to stop after fitting the gen double AR crystal from Ofrei. That made a massive difference.

  11. Have alook at Knigs site.

She is showing an SD with gen movment inside. I'm confused by this listing as you will see on the dial. Fat hands and fat markers like the Yachtmaster but very good script. THe bezel lookks great but the pearl is crap. Open date fonts but that is probably because of the movement inside.

Everything elase looks very good. I wonder what the 2892 version looks like???

  12. azerbyjam was selling his eta UPO so I snapped it up and swapped out the crystal with the genuine one I bought for my pumpkin lite which as warned packed in quite quickly! This looks even better on the black bezel version and will hpefully last a bit longer!!

Just want to add that the deal with him was perfect and I would recommend azerbyjam anytime especially to EU guys.

Here is a dirty quick pic.
