  1. Yep, lets hope that helps it sell out fast. I can't wait for the corrected one, and some lume on the numbers would be useful too. Especially when the watch is being sold at a premium.

I have both the steel bezel and rubber bezel silver/white dial with grey subs models and the numbers have very good lume actually.

    What model do you have?

  2. Great comparison!

The big tell for me is the lug width being much wider on the rep case and less tapered from the center to the edge. The MBW's are very good but this is one area where the Vietnam cases stand out on accuracy and help to justify the greater cost.(to me anyway B) )

    Great pics!

  3. Today I decided to ring customs to find out the story of my parcel and was told that there is a special excersize currently going on with China pakages where they are being inspected more closely than normal. A different department is doing this and I now have to wait for them to contact me about it. I still don't know if it has been opened or not!!

She did ask me if it contained tobacco products to which I replied 'very unlikely'.

  4. From what I see, it all looks pretty normal to me. All packages get 'delivered' to customs for 1-3 days prior to being released for delivery to the recipient. Unfortunately, your eager phone call may have caused the shipper to become suspicious, which caused customs to double-check a shipment that might otherwise have gone unnoticed. Because EMS is slow in updating their tracking info, it is always best to wait at least a week after customs receives your shipment before you start worrying or making phone calls. You may even still get lucky & receive your package. But if you do not receive the shipment or a letter from customs in about a week, it is probably a goner.

I've recieved more watches over the last 10 years than I care to remember and this is far from normal practise in the UK. Parcelforce have confirmed already that it is seized so it is beyond normal procedure for it to simply be going through the various stages of delivery. I hope I'm wrong and the order of play has changed but I'm sure this next few days will produce an answer.

    Fingers crossed!

  5. Still here!

I will not hear anything now until next week Nikos.

My AP conversion kit arrives Monday too(AP were very quick and shippped the same day with Fedex!)!! plus a Rubber strap is on it's way from Angus which I forgot to order when I bought the watch.

Angus says it would be the first package to be seized here!! and has offered to send a replacement which is very good of him because this sort of probelm is neither parties problem really if packaged and described ok.

Will keep you all posted. B)

This is the tracking info so far. This is what made me ring and find out where it was. It was then that the PForce girl said her screen stated it had been seized.

  7. Ordered my offshore from Angus but it was 'awaiting customs charging'. Today I look on the parcelforce tracking and it says delivered!! Which is confusing as it clearly had not been. Upon asking for detailed info it stated that delivery was made to hM customs!!

    I think I may have a problem!!

    Any ideas guys?

  8. The watch head to me looks very good indeed. The rehaut looks good. You can see it has a some thickness to it on the side profile shots. Engraving looks pretty crisp. Overall very smart.

The biggest flaw to me is as always the dreadful end links!! They look like humpbacks on these pictures and not very well cut at all!

That will stop me from a purchase for now.

As to the colour of the bezel numbers, I think the photo lighting does nothing for these and creates a transulescent effect as on the gen model. I think they will look better in the flesh.

    Just my thoughts B)

  9. My local AD does the servicing in house using a qualified Rolex technician. I had to find my bill but I had my Sub serviced in 2006 and it cost 175 pounds including the bracelet refinishing and the case polished only where it should be.

He also told me that some people in the trade were no happy with the refinshing work from Rolex BexleyUK and standards have certainly slipped there.
