I received my YM on xmas eve just before leaving for Spain so have no pics but will add that the dial is very, very close and worththe wait. The lume is excellent and even.
The crown is too big but I have fitted a gen crown and had no need to change the tube as the dimension were perfect this time compared to my previous WM9's.
The cg's are very good so no need to mod them.
The end links are perfect and smooth. I had to take a couple of sharp edges off the inside of some of the links but very minor to be honest. The clasp is very smooth with a good tight close.
The only thing that dissapointed me as I have owned two genuine Yachtie's is the bezel insert. The numbers are not quite think enough and the finish is just a little too shiny in artificial light. You can see this on Randy's pics. The finish could do with being slightly rougher. It is hard to describe unless you compare gen and rep together. The finish should perfectly match the dial as they are the same material in the gen watch of course. It is not that bigger deal but worth pointing out. From memoery the noob yachtie had a great finish to it's insert and would look great on this watch.
I'm only nitpicking and I apologise if i have invaded your thread Ubi! This is a great effort on the whole and I'm very pleased with it.

Do not compare the teeth of a seadweller to that on a Sub as the SD does have much more pronounced teeth but I agree that they are not good enough. Also the end links look pretty poor in the pics but it is not always easy to tell from the them.
Is it me or does the crown not sit central to the guards?
On the whole though this does look very good and you should wear it with pride!

I really pleased you got it today Randy!!! The pics are giving me pains in my chest waiting for mine to arrive!!!!!!!!
It looks very well finished

Historically that ladies sized movement has a reputation for being "moody".. all things being equal it should be just as good a movement as the 2824/36 though.
The big problem this option presents is that now if you want to do a movement upgrade you are pretty much limited to the ladies size movement again, while it may for the moment be more available in the piles of dead swiss movements the rep dealers scavenge movements from in the long term it means an added hassle trying to source a movement ring for the 2824/36..
To be practical even the sea-gull 2892 copy would be a better option, it's available, reasonably reliable and can be replaced with pretty much any eta movement....
maybe I just need more coffee and less keyboard time
There will be a 2892 Sub which will then fix the low crown position too in the future I beleive. I have been temtped to ask George or Burt for a case to be made without the tube hole being drilled so I can make a 2892 Sub but I think the rehaut height would have to be raised slightly too which would then give the perfect crystal height when the bezel is fitted. This is still a flaw for me on this watch and stops me buying another. It is also one of the reason why the rep bezel assembly tends to pop out the insert when trying to get the dimensions as spot on as possible.

It does look nice. The font does look improved on the DW. The 17 looks spot on and the 6 does too. I wish my Yachtie would arrive!!!! Should have been shipped early this week but not holding my breath with George and gang!

The Dollar is strong against the pound which makes it an issue for UK guys but the doller is not the same against other International currencies so don't expect the price of reps to fall any time soon if ever!
I will not be buying any reps until the pound strengthens considerably. Glad I ordered my WM9 Yachtie when I did as it would be a very high priced rep now!!

Count me in for one for my 1665 project.

Well said and all I will say on the matter is that the bezel on George's z tt sub is only plated and not very thick at that. I polished it lightly when it arrived and it soon started to show the base steel through not sure about the crown as I fitted a gen crown and tube and seem to have lost the original to check it.

Fantastic my friend. I do feel though that you will be very, very dissapointed when it comes back complete and will feel compelled to sell it to me to ease your suffering!!
A good christmas ahead for you I think!
-
So am I!! Although it will not be up to your review standards!

Searching the web it does look awfully like the Seagull st26. I'm guessing the hand sizes will be the same as it is a clone of the 2892 so a movement swap is an option should the other fail.
I think BK should ask George for us as he will get a better response hopefully.

you're kidding! a seagull mov't!! they swear up & down they use gen eta's. but i really doubt it.
i got a WM9 sub from PT and i've had problems already with the mov't. you should see the date wheels they put in these
reps! they are a paper cut-out, and they fit on top of another date wheel that has smaller numbers. then they have the balls to charge $700.
All Rolex reps and a lot of other reps use overlays on existing DW's! Usually because the original DW is in the wrong position so that does not really say anything about WM9 watches.

I ordered mine quite some time ago direct from george and was told by Allan who usually deals with shipping that it would be early next week so we will see what happens.
I agree about the crystal but I intend to fit a gen in my watch upon arrival. the crystal is the same 295c2 that fits the Sub but uses a different gasket and sits higher above the bezel which probably explains the unpolished edge seen in George's pictures.

Is that his or a gen??
It is the rep

Can't wait to get mine now having seen these finished pics. I cannot see any immediate flaws but I do have reservations on the movement being gen eta!
Bytor we need your expert Yachtie eyes on this one my friend!
Here is a couple of pics.

Sat here wearing this one again. Really pleased I swapped in my Gen SD for this, I love it.

Wearing this beauty again as it is currently the only watch I own!

Going with my newly acquired Slevin 'ultimate' AQT today.

I have been told by Allan who is wm9's shipping guy that my yachtmaster will be shipped December 5th. I am a pre order customer. We shall see what happens.

Yes Sean is a dealer from the past who wasa good guy at the time. He mainly dealt on TRC a few years ago. He is Taiwan based from memory like River who is still around in a small way. These guys were the founder dealers of the higher end rep world.
I'm wondering if this is the new WM9 case as it seems too convenient for this to show up now.
-
Beautiful work, the best rep 1680 I have seen! Enjoy her

Sean is now showing a series of pics for the Yachtmaster as well as the Sub case discussed previously this week.

That case looks pretty much spot on to me. He also has a link to a Yachtmaster case but no pics yet.

I have had the back off mine but no pics as I'm in Spain on holiday but it is not eta! It seems to work well but it looks like the seagull movement.
