  1. Really fantastic my friend.

This can't be better I think.

Please shoot some macros I would like to compare with my hybrid one.

Do you had some trouble Installing the gen Bezel?

From the Pics the Bezel looks similar to the V2 Bezel and way better

    than the V3.

Maybe you can make a comparsion shot of the bezels.

It's really a beauty and I think nobody spot this as a Rep.

    Congrats.

Thnakyou my friend. It means a lot coming from the expert modder!!

The Gen bezel is better in that the teeth are much deeper and a little longer so they finish nearer to the edge. This bezel is a 2nd hand peice but in very nice condition. I know longer have the V2 bezel and unfortunately the V3 was sold with it's gen LV insert fitted. Also the gen bezel has a slightly more rollededge where the insert sits. It is hard to describe but you can tell from the front view I think.

The gen bezel does not fit the rep retainer unless you trim it down and thin it out. After much messing about I got it to fit but then I found a gen retainer on Ebay and it's perfect now. The gen retainer is profiled a little differently so the insert can sit flatter than the rep.

I have just finished a little light refurb and re-brushed the band so these pics should be better.

  2. Forgot to add trhat the Gen dial is 1.5mm appprox smaller than the WM9 dial and the date window is the same width but slightly higher than the rep. My pictures are not that great as I really need a new camera but the dial print is so much more crisp and stronger so it is more white than the rep dial.

Here is a pic showing my favourite date

  3. Thought I would show you all a couple of pics of my V2 Hybrid/Franken Submariner. It is based on the eta 2824 movement from a V3 but fitted into a V2 case as tribal did last week. It has following gen parts fitted.

    Gen flat 'S' Dial

    Gen Bezel Assembly

    Gen Insert

    Gen Crystal retainer

    Gen Crystal

    Gen Crown

    Gen Tube

    V3 Hands and movement

    V1.5 End links

    V3 Bracelet and clasp

I have left the Cg's on mine as they look pretty ok to me. The V2 case has the correct cg depth as Tribal states in his post and also the fitting of a gen tube gives the crown a slight gap from the case as per gen 16610.

The gen dial really needs a re-lume as the luminova has gone slightly pink in certain lights. I don't think it has been in a watch for a while and this can happen appraently.

The end links are a much smoother profile on the V1.5 Wm9 watches which was also the same as the precioustime supersub that he sold early last year I think.

I will take some better daylight pics tomorrow and a lume shot too.

  4. Tribal, you have got me wondering so I looked through my parts box and I have a V2 case. I've just spent half an hour stripping my V3 out and fitting a gen tube in the V2 case and voila! it fits fine and as you say there are no issues with the stem binding. The reason for this is that the internal diameter of the gen tube is bigger than WM9's tube so the stem has room to move without issue!

I have now decided that my franken will be as yours and fitted using the V2 case with the 2824 movement! Will keep you all posted on my progress!

  5. That looks sweet!!

As soon as my V3 conversion is finished I will update this post with my version and pics. List of gen parts on mine will be, gen bezel + gen insert, Gen crystal, gen crystal retainer, gen luminova dial, gen crown + crown tube and everything else will be V3 parts except bracelet which has smooth V1.5 SEL's and V3 band.

Well Tribal, it looks great now.

  6. I have said this weeks ago about the crown issue! As you say WM9 has removed too much metal in the recess. I have fitted a gen tube and crown to mine and it is a little better from the front but there is a small gap on the underside. I also fitted a gen bezel which was diificult to fit as the crystal retaining ring is bigger on the WM9 so a bit of shaving was required until I find a gen retainer. Im sorry I cannot provide pics guys as my camera is not yet fixed but I will.

I have converted my LV back to Black with gen dial, gen bezel, gen crystal anbd gen crown/tube combo. I will post pics soon to show.

BTW THe gen bezel has a more rounded top showing a smooth edge where it meets the insert and much bigger teeth than WM9's. Width and height are the same.

  7. I very much doubt WM9 will have this ready before June! Also BK is behind because of the slow speed George usually supplies parts to him on new projects. It will come when it comes guys and will be worth the wait I'm sure. Look how far behind he is on LV and TT projects. The TT only started shipping last week!

  8. Thought I would post this link to an Ebay auction

    http://cgi.ebay.com/IWC-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet-for-Flieger-Chronograph_W0QQitemZ290389473248QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439c8fb7e0

The price is good for what is a rare gen bracelet. I bought one before Christmas from Ebay and the diference in quality of the end links and the whole feel of the silky smooth band is worth the money to finish your franken 3717.

  9. You clearly don't read the board very well do you!!! look in the Rolex section and you will see that members have started to receive them slowly from BK but if you have bnought directly from WM9 site then it will be slow but you will get it.

  10. THe bezel is not too big nor is the case too small. My LV has a gen insert fitted and a gen crystal too all of which fit beautifully. I think members are looking at the pictures and see that the crown is touching or nearly touching the bezel when screwed inb which gives this effect. It is the only flaw in my oinion and is not the same on the V2 cases. The recess inside the lugs has been machined a little too much and has caused the tube to sit too far inside the lugs so that when the crown screws in it is too clsoe to the bezel. This is only on the V3/2824 cases in my experience and I have seen many WM9 watches recently. You can see this if you compare a full frontal shot of a gen Sub and a V3 WM9 Sub. The crown is fully visible on the gen but is slightly hidden on the V3.

    Does anyone agree??!!
