Watchwoot.com... Anyone have experience with this guy?
ASkiBum replied to plaifender's topic in General Discussion
FYI: the BlackSteel V2 is the best price I've seen in a long time! Him and Hont seem to usually have the best prices. -
Seawolf pressure tests to 1000M or maybe 1000F (out of the box)
ASkiBum replied to ASkiBum's topic in The Breitling Area
This one was from Mark at Time shop. It was the apprentice watchsmith who did the testing, so he might have been confused. I asked him if he meant feet, but he said meters. He called over a few of the salesmen and they all seemed surprised. It's at a Humblot, Graham AD. (they normally don't deal with Brietlings, so it seemed "repsafe".) I wasn't able to see the equipment they used as it is in the back, behind the cases in a separate room. -
Have my Seawolf pressure tested today. Tested to 1000 meters on a Rolex certified machine at a local watchsmith. This is a straight out of the box rep. I never opened the case. Not bad! EDIT - It looks like the apprentice watchsmith might have been wrong...from googling it appears that the certified machines only go to 3atm, or 100 feet.

Bling Bling Casio... Never thought those could be used in the same sentence.

Rep: http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=501 Shop around, if one dealer has it, it seems all can get it.

Thanks for the support!!! I am in IT, I have seriously gone down with 3 companies now... Arther Andersen, Enron, and the last place after 5 years. I've got an MBA and big 4 consulting experience, so I'm not too worried about finding a job, but it sucks to see your work go down the drain. This really might be a good thing - I have been debating starting a company for a few years now, and now might be the time. In the meantime I'm considering this to be a unplanned vacation - time to travel the world. Currently looking at spending 3 months in Europe, China, and looping back along Vietnam, India, and Egypt.

I got the call this morning, the Arizona branch of my company is closing, so we are all jobless as of this morning. That doesn't include 8 of my friends who lost their jobs in the past month...what is happening!?!?

Talk to your dealer. I had a BCE v3 with crooked wings that Josh fixed for me.

The frustrating thing with so many of the Omega reps is the logo. The "feet" on the logo are incorrect on almost all of the reps:( It is an easy tell. I own a PO and enjoy it anyway.

narikaa - I would love to get one of those straps in black! Go, go, go

Durability/Scratching of Bezels on Planet Ocean (PO)
ASkiBum replied to ASkiBum's topic in The Omega Area
Thanks! That link didn't come up in my searches. I will source a gen bezel after my purchase. -
How is the durability of the UPO bezels? I'm looking at one of these as my next rep, but have seen a number of posts where the bezels are scratched. Does the scratching seem to occur more in one specific version? I wear my reps regularly, and don't want to be concerned with scraping it. Some examples of the scratches: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Proplem-Planet-Ocean-t94594.htm I've seen about 4-5 others in the for sale watches that are scratched

pete1 - where did you get the watch from? I've been looking for a good one with the better fonts. Thanks!

Ideal watch winder settings for the Asia 7750 Valjoux?
ASkiBum replied to ASkiBum's topic in General Discussion
You called it - one of the AceTimer Quads. Okay - I didn't realize it was a one way movement. No wonder my watches keep dying in there. I will try a 850 CW... -
This one seems to need a lot of motion, but I am wondering if the following settings are best: - alternate clockwise and counter clockwise motion - 1000 turns per day In searching this board and the others, it seems like most people have it set on 1000, but not sure about direction.
-
Okay - I'm in:) EDIT: wow that was fast - it already shows supporter.
-
Anyone have any opinions on this watch winder? It seems to be a good deal, the web site looks a little sketchy, I will definitely use a CC. Dual Power Source Automatic Watch Winder by Swiss Watch International, Model: WW-121 http://www.chronoshark.com/

It's the light. Thanks for the confirmation! I am working to send the watch back for a replacement. It nice to know that I'm not completely crazy:)
-
Am I crazy or does it look like the symbol slants a little to the right? I think I am being OCD. Thanks!!!
