tHAT IS SURELY A HORRIBLE WATCH (imho)
-
Not to hijack the the thread or anything... Here's my wife's QUARTZ Dior Riva Chrono... Very good quality and the diamonds are top quality.
BUT... she paid about $AU3000 for it breaking in her credit card one day

I think this will just about push me over the edge for a pvd watch... now, which to get?
I don't want a base but want pvd, and want it to glow well... What's the most convincing of the choices from davidsen?

Don't worry, it's not a lame post... 7750 rotor wobble scares a lot of people the first time ;-)
-
looks like only bytor and I have light-coloured dial watches....btw..there are way too many PAM fans here...
OK... for you, Marrickvilleboy, I'll wear this 2531.80.00 today:

Exactly,... Black hands over a black background is not one of their better ideas....imo.
I know that some like the style of this black & white thing, but it's not practical,
or even beautiful in my eyes.....The Sparkle & Shine are Lost...
Watches are Metal after all and the brilliance of polished metal in contrast .. draws
the eye....not black paint.
Lastly regarding accuracy,..
As long as the Panerai site is displaying their 212 with stainless hands,
that's good enough for me... as you won't find 1 person in a 500 thousand that would
know the proto-type story.

... and I'm seriously thinking about changing mine back to polished subdial hands
-
That is a beautiful watch buddy... wear it well. PM sent

Any thoughts on this one from PT
Unique piece
No offence intended, but the Purdys don't do anything for me, and this does less

Panerai... The NEW Rolex ;-)

I did not found it there, so I started this topic. There is simpel to much writen about it...
OK... read this thread from start to end, then please give us a summary of your thoughts:

Sapphire is a synthetic material, so yeah, this is a tautology really, but what dealers mean is fake sapphire, or simply put, crap window glass.
Well... I wouldn't say these are crap window glass, but they are surely not sapphire... I believe that finepics tried to coat one and it exploded!
On the subdial hands thing... I actually prefer the silver hands, but installed black ones to emulate the original. That being done, I can hardly see the subdial hands now
Bad design choice on Panerai's part IMO

Today my new 127 on OEM:
Tonight, my new world 1950 on Hirsch:

The genuine is domed, as is my rep. The genuine also has a bent second hand.
There is no distortion on my dial when looking at the watch from a low angle.
I am almost tempted to keep this after looking at it for a while, starting to feel the love

Nice animation! Beautiful watch, I just don't like the propeller subdial hand.
-
@Chronus: thanks for the info, mate!
Still, to me, high weight in a watch is a defect rather than a merit.
I like a heavy watch more than a light watch

Being 23, I wouldn't recommend a watch too expensive, unless your a very well off 23 and can pull it off fine.
Pateks are nice, but I think too 'classic' looking for even me (at 45).
The FMs are very nice, but the solid gold will be at least a $10-20k watch, maybe one in stainless steel would suit.
I think the Santos TT would suit and so would a nice SS JLC dress... or a nice ss radiomir would be very nice under the cuff!

Very nice C.. Looks pretty genuine to me. Whose strap is that? ;-)

hello,
i would get this version. you can brush the bezel, this is no problem.... and who knows how the next version will be...
best wishes

If I remember correctly, the case and bezels on the new PAM chronos are all wrong, wrong height and wrong bezel angls, lugs are off, lower quality case all around, etc etc etc
Can anyone confirm this?

What's happening with this project? I got a 212 just aching for a proper sapphire crystal AR coated?
