  1. yeah, it's yummy... and I'm [censored]' wasted FML LOL how about a wench in a skin parka??? aaaooowww!
  2. first time scotch drinker today... thought I'd jump in with this... next I'm gonna try some Japanese whiskey, not sure what though. Slim pickin's here in Bangkok, but a few shops on Tanaya St (Japan Town) that may have some good ones.
  3. Thanks all for your input, and Legend... your humble expertise is always welcome! I'm torn about getting the 44 FC or the V8, the FC 44 really is beautiful! The V8 is being offered with the solid case back as well. If I want to go low-beat, I think I'd source a proper movement. Is there a date wheel replacement being offered for these, or even better, will a gen fit in? Besides the low-beat conversion route, is there an alternative low-beat that would fit in? the Tissot PM80 are pretty pricey.
  4. Nice looking watch, love the cream dial :-)
  5. Looks like she's got a lip (or more) in her stockings...
  6. Huge tell sure! Almost not even worth buying if the sides are masked during the process and bare stainless! Here's some more info about gold plating thicknesses: http://artisanplating.com/measuring-layer-thickness-on-gold-plated-surfaces/
  7. 'Average' is a big word... How long is a piece of string, or how big was that fish I caught last summer? Sorry I can't be of more help, but I really don't know for sure and I'd be really hesitant to take any manufacturer's word for it in this industry from the guys who want to profit from illegal manufacturing of counterfeit items. I think any numbers would be exaggerated if they suspect the information would be difficult to verify. In the end, you would probably be able to measure the thickness with a destructive method and using a microscope... it may have even done here before on one of the rep fora.
  8. Too bad, this is useful information for sure... wrapped vs. plated will not add any discernible weight whatsoever, both are a plating processes... wrapped 'may' be thicker, but the difference in thickness will be in micrometers.
  9. I wonder what what or if the difference in color is between 14k (as this is wrapped) and 18k (as per gen) gold is I thought I read some time ago that a gold color DLC is available, I would think that would be a much better and more wear resistant finish coating for gold parts.
  10. Hi Guys... I'm on the edge of buying another AP, been moving away from Panerai slowly... I think the novelty has worn off after about ten years of almost complete Panerai exclusivity... I have a FC Diver and wear it often... I really love it even though it's the earlier version with the very slightly micro-off-white hand... not quite sure what version it is.but it's nice to me I was about to get a 44 FC as the price is really great, although I'm a bit leery with the movement and also that watch is too rich for my style; I'm just not a $30k watch guy no matter how I slice it LOL Anyway, there seems to be no hate so far for the new v8 SS Diver; is this the case? Are there any glaring issues brought out or not fixed with the new version I should be watching out for? I would probably get the SS bracelet as well, are there any issues on this? It seems really well done. Is it true that the only difference with the watch is the addition of the decorated Miyota movement and optional display back? One other question that's probably a simple one for the knowledgeable... Why don't they use a low beat Seagull or Miyota movement in these divers since the next mod for accuracy would be to drop a Powermatic 80 in?
  11. I love ssunglasses... bought several throughout the years, unfortunately our house was broken into back around '03 or so and had a bunch of watches, jewelry and a large collection of sunglasses stolen... Here's some more I've bought over the years: Oakley Titanium frames are super strong, too bad the plastic lenses scratch easily... Great glasses but gimme glass any day! Serengeti drivers, my only other pair with polycarb lenses, great for driving, look great, hug the head while up... unfortunately the lenses scratch too easily and I don't wear them much anymore: Nice Revo drivers, small and stealthy Can't get enough of Revo drivers: These Persols are awesome, unfortunately the glass is cracked a bit, but out of field of vision... discontinued so no new glass: How about these crazy John Lennon style Serengetis... I don't know what I was thinking when I bought these LOL: These Revos are really cool with bright blue lenses... My bright green ones with black only frames got stolen in the breakin :-S Just bought these Persol Wayfarers brand new off a friend... too taupe for me so gave them to my better half, but too big for her... Nice specs tho: These Revos are great all around, not so much into the rectangular lenses anymore, but wear them occasionally More Serengeti drivers: Revos with small oval lenses are pretty evil-cool sometimes
  12. Yeah, a night out clubbing is a good thing for sure... Really though, what is it about the brand upset you to not like them no mater what? I don't know the background, I only see it has seemingly become almost cult status here in Asia, but I don't see any westerners wearing them... I wouldn't wear one either of the last rounded square designs. The few shots I've seen of the new design posted here, although, I find more appealing.
  13. I like the look of this design better than the last square models
  14. I wouldn't go to Vegas if I was paid to... and I don't gamble ;-) Situation? What situation? Some members of RWI are in a situation, not me mate. Please go away, your input is useless.
  15. I bet you were a hall monitor back in school... maybe a security guard now... good luck with your that, but your post is waaay off topic and we don't care about your petty-ass details. Now, go back to your dark little hole you call an existence and continue all your amazing clarifications over there ya numbskull... This thread is all about ME
  16. Thanks Ken! Will see you on my next jaunt down too! In regards to my 'brigging'... I'm now just having fun watching my haters trip over their own dicks every chance they get... As for being able to deride me... HA! Not on their best day in their best reincarnation can anyone deride me... One can only deride oneself! OK, someone please stop me on this zen stuff!!
