If you want us to count how many crown teeth are there then yes, we would need some better pics.
-
A gen would spoil me from enjoying all the mods.
-
I went to three different ADs in the city who had either iteration of the BR01 series in stock. PVD models say "military spec." on the caseback. Silver models do not.
And lest I forget, the the text on the BR01 92/94/96/97 is the same UNLESS:
1) the caseback is PVD
2) its a LE model; then the text "limited edition" should appear where the model number/serial is and the text "aviation type [and/or] military spec." is replaced in favor of the model/serial.
Very very very interesting! Thanks!
So far, I saw the (in)famous brand9 claim it's 1:1.'brand9'?
-
For you, did anyone ever purchase a rep only to find themselves purchasing the gen of said watch shortly thereafter?
-
Very interesting, thanks!
I just wonder how the compiler of the arcticle incurred long-term brain damage even without being employed in chemical fumes environment when he was a teenager...
-
Thanks for the great review and comparison!
Apart from the faults you pointed out about the screw size and location and so, are you positive that the gen 01-97 back is identical to the 01-96 back?
And... who is the dealer claiming this 1:1?

I am complete noob on HBB, but is it not supposed to have a 'granular' (I don't know the correct word), sort of hobnail-like, texture on the bezel's side?
That model by Silix -- like much cheaper models too -- looks plain smooth on the bezel's side...
-
I still can't believe how big this watch wears. I almost bought a gen 46mm on timezone without trying it on. Good thing I didn't. It would have looked silly on my wrist and I ususally wear a 47mm Pam 187!
I bet it is because of its almost square shape. A 46mm-side square has a lot bigger area than a 47mm-diameter circle!
-
does anyone else see anything glaring
The location of the dial screws -- and the related shortened length of the minute marks close to them (I seem to remember I already mentioned it somewhere).
To me, this makes for a very first-glance rep tell on this watch...
... to the point that I even accepted blue hands and marks (I really like them) as well as the 'limited edition' text. Incorrect to incorrect, I decided to go for the model I liked the most.
And I think I am going to love that watch anyway.

Just because a patient says it has 'spread' over a course of time, does not necessarily mean it has
After all, the chin rash (she admits touching it, clearly contact transmission) was probably just noticed later when she looked in a mirror (and screamed in horror).
I must admit though that such non-localised urticaria (extending up to the upper arms) is a little unusual, but not uncommon. Exanthema is jumping the gun a little considering she has no other systemic symptoms.
Very good points. I agree.
Just but about exanthema being like jumping the gun. I think it should go into differential diagnosis even if with a very low probability. Too wide variability in adults' systemic signs, and they can come out after a while.
I too think that most likely V has not an exanthematic disease. Just, as noone mentioned it, I wanted to make sure that that small probability was not going to get completely forgotten.
...But Victoria, how are you?

nerdy 3-D cubes
Actually, my dear V, a tesseract is a 4-D cube...

Try googleing for the following string:
esa OR eta "2557/1"
you should get some results where to furtherly search for your specific datewheel.
-
Ok, I give up.
What that so evident flaw would be?
-
-
It started on the palm of my hands, and fingertips. Then spread to my wrist. Then this morning, there were tiny bumps from topside to underside of my arms, until not quite my elbow. But my chin area also has smaller, blistery bumps.
Very uncommon for an allergic dermatitis, urticaria-like, to slowly spread along many hours. And chin is an even stranger location.
Personally, I would not take any drugs before a diagnosis is made. 90% chances are that your rush is self-estinguishing. Otherwise (e.g. some mild exanthematic disease), things will become soon clear.
Best wishes, let us know how this goes on.

At what extent are your arms involved, V? Only forearms, or arms too?
Any other body parts?
-
Wow! Auguri e congratulazioni, V!
-
No, I don't.

Exposure time actually less than two seconds
In that case I humbly suggest you get that watch serviced, as its small second hand runs along 5 seconds in less than 2 seconds...
the ratio i use is 75 C3/25 C1Thanks!
The best mix ever.

I too believe the 212 and 253 have the same case.
Replacing the crystal is easy, as long as you have a press for crystals with proper dice, and you know how to remove the crown and movement.
Else, any local watchsmith will be able to do it for you (provided he is willing to work on reps, naturally).

Unsure on what you mean with 'thicker'.
To make it brushed a simple brushing pen will work, though.
Also consider that there is no guarantee that a DSN crown guard would fit on your watch case.
-
I suppose that as "a more accurate model" you are meaning the DSN's one, that already comes with good lume, non-recessed central pinion, decent crown, and it especially has the dagger swan neck that Josh/Andrew's does not have.
So, we are speaking about 368 USD.
You should contact The Zigmeister and ask his pricelist for a relume + cannon pinion fix + installing a new crown + making the watch "waterproof", and add the cost of a Palp's crown (btw, the crown should not wind the watch with the lever in the closed position -- other than with lots of scratches by the lever on the crown itself, that you don't want).
Then you can compare the two price frames and take a meaningful decision.
The Zigmeister's upgrades are likely to provide you with even slightly better results than a brand new DSN 112, but the incorrect swan neck will stay with you (unless The Zigmeister can also provide a dagger regulator).
So you are the only one that can take a decision once you know the involved costs, and knowing how much accurate you want your 112 to be.
If you let me know (also via PM) how much the upgrades by The Zigmeister would cost you, I can tell you what I would do in your situation.

@SSS
Thanks for the suggestion on filing the metal. For this fella, i need to be filing the part of the lever that joins at the pin.
You can see the protrusion at the pin in the pic below
I see. Opposite problem than mine.
My best wishes both on finding a perfect CG or filing your lever.
