  1. How did you get the 'SELs' on this Ebel compared to your other Ebel 1911 Discovery to be that tight fit?
  2. The WM9 v2 sub is the "best out of the box" watch head BUT is let down by 'poor' SELs on the WM9 sub bracelet. Is it technically difficult to get the SELs 'tight fitting' to watch head? What is the best rep Rolex Submariner [older style] bracelet in terms of tight fit SELS, good overall construction? Comments anyone?
  3. What is the starting price for a gen 1680 now?
  4. How can the SELs be improved? [i have noticed that there is a 'very small' but noticeable gap on the sides of the bracelet where it joins the watch head.]
  5. what's the 'observable' difference between 'hi beat' and 'low beat'?
  6. 90 Euros = 130$ approx Is this the cheapest price for gen Bergeon opener? or if I pay cheaper, risk getting a rep Bergeon ? thanks PD
  7. Does it have be the 'Bergeon' brand, I've seen many unbranded Rolex Case Openers on the bay for alot less. which part of the construction on the cheaper Rolex Case Openers, might scratch the case back? cheers PD
  8. Which tool do you use to open your Rolex subs? How much was the tool and does it scratch the case back? where did you buy this tool? cheers PD
  9. Fantastic watch! is it now almost 99.99% genuine? out of curiosity, how much did this cost?
  10. How do I view my old PMs? thanks PD
  11. If they have to install some software patches or anything like that, hope they 'fix the colour fonts' used
  12. Anyone know what the reason for the 'finish' of the sides of stainless steel bracelets? The Submariner [stainless steel] has 'brushed' finish yet the Seadweller has 'polished' finish. Would have expected the Seadweller to have 'brushed' finish if the rationale was for a durable rugged finish that will survive diving in the sea. Curiously enough the TT Submariner has 'polished' side links. Comments ?
  13. how scratch proof is the outer AR coating on this rep? can you scratch it easily with your finger nail ?
  14. the A7750 winds in which direction clockwise or anti-clockwise?
  15. is the real Swiss ETA 7750 as noisy as the Asian 7750 in the way I have described, particulary when you shake the movement side to side?
  16. out of curiosity, how many of the "well know gen chrono" use swiss ETA 7750 movement?
  17. Editting my above post: When I shake my wrist from side to side whilst wearing the Ebel, I can hear the noise of the rotar growing louder. It's like a SHWIRR SHWIRR Shwirr shwirr wirr wirr wirr sound as it slows down Does anyone else get this on their Ebel 1911 Discovery Chrono? Does this also happen on the gen Ebel 1911 Discovery chrono or is this problem only affect the Asian 7750 movement?
  18. "cymbals" is an over exaggeration your description is more accurate. are both your watches gen? I'm wondering if the gen Ebel which uses a Swiss ETA 7750 suffers this same problem. what do you mean by "sleazy bearings in the rotors" - can this be rectified by a routine servicing?
  19. Hi, I got a question about the Asian 7750 movement: I can hear the rotor spinning quite clearly in the Asian 7750 movement inside my rep Ebel 1911 Discovery chrono. If I hold the watch in my palm, face up and then shake it from side to side it makes a louder noise as the rotor spins, the nearest analogy would be the sound of loud cymbals crashing. The loud noise disappears when I stop the shaking the rep. The rep runs well and keeps time and is quiet normally. IS THIS NORMAL for the A7750 movement? Do you get this happening with the Swiss ETA 7750 movement or even to the gen Ebel 1911 Chrono? Cheers PD
  20. Just received mine fresh from dealer and noticed that if the rep is shaken due to vigorous arm movement ie if I play a tennis stroke action then I can hear something inside the rep 'jangling like cymbals' Is that the sound of the rotar moving due to 'vigorous' action as the sound disappears when vigorous action of arm stops. Will servicing the Asian 7750 movement eliminate this sound OR do I have a loose movement, as the rep runs and funtions perfectly. Does the gen Ebel 1911 Discovery Chrono suffer this problem? Cheers PD
  21. Hi, as your watch collection grows, the automatic watches get rotated just like in large football clubs regarding the squad of players Despite spending time on watch winders the power reserve on some watches will eventually run flat between each wearing A watch may go a week before it is worn again and if it has a flat power reserve the movement will have stopped running for days. 1) Does the fact the movement stopped for days due to flat power reserve, affect the condition and reliability of a rep movement? 2) How long can a movement be in limbo before damage occurs to the movement? Generally would expect a movement to be serviced every 4 - 5 years. 3) Is this 4 - 5 years of the movement running constantly, as if the watch is worn daily? OR can this interval be SIGNIFICANTLY longer if the movement is running constantly due to FLAT power reserve from watch wearing rotation policy? Cheers PD
  22. Hi, what is your experience of EMS tracking www.ems.com.cn I have tried tracking my parcel on EMS and I get "no tracking information available" The package would have been sent out at about 4 days ago from China to UK. Is it delivered at UK end by Royal Mail? How long would it take from China to UK? any comments or advice? Thanks PD
