  1. I agree too.

    However, if people are self-motivated enough to stick with it....6 to 8 hours of intense exercise a week is going to produce some results.

    I just don't think I could do an hour long workout of pushups. I'd much rather hit the bench for 5 sets. So this isn't for me, but for those that like working out to a video I can see it giving results (just because like I said 6 to 8 hours of working out has to do something).

    The thing I don't agree with is the ankle weights. That adds unneeded torque to your joints.

  2. Milk isn't nearly the same as whey. It's mostly casein which is slowly digested and absorbed. Higher fat content. A whey isolate will actually have zero carbs usually. In 30 grams, mixed with 8oz water, you'll have 27g of protein, 0 carbs, 0 fat, 110 calories.

    Contrast that with skim milk. A pint and a half (3 cups/24 oz) will give you 24g of protein (mostly casein), 270 calories, and 39 grams of carbs. If it's 2% milk you'll have 390 calories, 15g of fat, 39g of carbs to get that same 24g of protein.

    Not to mention whey is cheap at only $0.52 a serving. At $4 a gallon, drinking 3 cups of milk will cost $0.75.

    I personally use trueprotein.com because I can choose exactly what goes into it (right down to the sweetener!). I also add the vitamin pack and the aminogen (protein digesting enzymes). Skip the free flavors because they suck!

    You can use coupon DLN550 for 5% off your order and 10% off orders over 16 lbs. I'm personally a big fan of http://www.trueprotein.com/Product_Details.aspx?cid=22&pid=633 The hemp protein is alright for a change of pace (with vanilla). What was all the buzz for a while was the pea protein: http://www.trueprotein.com/Product_Details.aspx?cid=22&pid=6816 Similar to whey, but cheaper.

    Cliff notes: whey protein is cheaper and better than milk.

  3. After ballooning up 20 lbs after quitting my day job last year I decided to get into shape. So I tried jogging and it just kills my shins.

    So I took my 1997 Trek 6000 that I've had since I was a kid down to get a tune-up, new seat that hopefully won't give me ED, and new shift levers. Rode 1.3 miles yesterday and boy did my legs burn! I didn't think I was going to make it home since it was slightly uphill. I thought I'd have to walk it back home.

    I think today I'm going to take it down there for new handles that are a bit higher. I really don't need to be leaning that far forward.

    Anyone else a big biker?

  4. I ordered last wednesday at 9 am and received it Friday in the mail (priority). They shipped it the same day.

    I got a croc deployment strap. It didn't want to bend at first, but by the end of the day it was formed to my wrist.

  5. The only real problem with MacroHard is by the time XP worked right, here comes Vista, by the time Vista works right, here comes 7.

    What's the point of Vista anyways? Half of your system resources get used to make the GUI look pretty.

    There's always linux! I play around with Ubuntu on my second computer. It works well. I don't game anymore so I don't need a super powerful system.

  6. Having a PC just means you have to know how to take care of them. Just like how to take care of a watch.

    PC = Swiss ETA

    Mac = Quartz

    I'm using a computer I built in 03 running a 6 year old install of Windows 2000. No problems here.

    Of course, on the other side of that coin, I gave my mom a computer and within 3 weeks it would no longer turn on. LOL.

  7. as an amsoil dealer for 8 years i'm interested in this topic. if the friction of the movement is carefully planned like The Zigmeister says, then using a lubricant with the incorrect coefficient of friction is going to cause problems. either too much (running slow) or too little (running fast). this isn't like a turbine engine that just needs the lowest coeffecient of friction oil or a car engine that coeffecient of friction really doesn't matter.

    another thing to be aware is if any ingredient says chlori in it. that means any yellow metal it comes in contact with is screwed.
