@AstroAvia The watch was ~$400 and it cost ~$35 to mail it from San Francisco, CA to China. Which members do you think could fix it? Thanks again for your help, 🤠

@AstroAvia @fabbe79 @ceejay I just received the watch back. It came back with the same issues. Nothing was fixed.
It arrived wrapped in a ZF package and the hands of the 12 o’clock subdial and the chronograph hand were all at 12.
However, when attempting to use the chronograph, the same issues as demonstrated in the previous video remained. Push start, wait ~15 seconds, push stop, push reset, and the second hand resets ~1 second further away from 12 o'clock. Upon resetting, the minute hand of the 12 o’clock subdial resets to 59 minutes instead of 0 minutes.
Do you or anyone have any advice on how to go forward with this? Thanks in advance, 🤠

I own/owned a few watches with this movement, which is a modified A7750. A typical and common problem with this particular movement is the chrono hour counter (lower hand at 12) constantly running. To solve this problem, one has to disassemble the hands, dial and two top plates of the movement in order to gain access to the chrono's hour wheel. Once there, the parts involved in braking the hour wheel - especially the plastic brake - need to be fiddled about with. With a loupe, check that the plastic brake is touching the hour wheel; if not, replace this part and check for contact again. That's the only solution to the problem.
Now regarding the big chrono seconds hand, as other colleagues have said already, it is lose from its central post and needs to be reinstalled with proper pressure.
Lastly, it is impossible to have the chrono minutes counter (upper hand at 12) running unless the chrono function is running. That simple. I believe your description of the symptoms are wrong in this particular aspect.
Thank you for your advice. I mailed it back 5 weeks ago. Last weekend, I was sent an email reporting it as received, and that they will attend to it accordingly. Hopefully they will fix the issues and I will keep everybody informed what happens.
Thanks again for everybody's help and advice, 🤠

Thank you for your feedback. Here is a video that should better explain the problem. The chrono's second hand in the video starts at 8 seconds, and finishes at 13 seconds.
Yes, when you stop the chronograph and reset it, the centre seconds hand is gradually moving further from the 12 o'clock position. Basically, push start, wait ~15 seconds, push stop, push reset, and the second hand resets ~1 second further away from 12 o'clock.
However, when you push to stop the chronograph, the 60 minute counting hand, and the hour hand, on the 12 o'clock subdial will continue to keep running. Because of this, it prevents the makeshift solution of stopping the chrono's second hand on 12 o'clock and never using the chronograph again. For example, I stopped the chrono's second hand at 12 o'clock, then went to sleep for 7.5 hours. When I woke up, the 12 o'clock subdial's hands were at 7:30. Pushing reset, both the 12 o'clock's subdial's hands returned to -1 minute.
Thanks again for your advice, 🤠

Also, I just tried starting, stopping, and resetting the chronograph ~300 times so that the chrono's second hand went all the way around to 12 o'clock.
Unfortunately, when the hand reached the stopping point of 59 seconds, the next reset resulted in the hand jumping to 1 second. Zero-second was skipped over. All the previous times, the second hand only advances between 0.2 and 0.5 seconds. For the final jump, it jumped 2 seconds.
The top subdial still also is zeroed at -1 minute.
Thanks for any advice,

Hello everyone,
My IWC Da Vinci Chronograph Laureus (ZF) is just 1 day old and the chrono is acting oddly. If anybody has any ideas/suggestions as to what is going on and how to deal with it, I'd be very thankful!
- The Start/Stop pusher works, but the reset pusher results in the chrono's second hand being reset to ~2 seconds (left picture), not zero.
- If you repeat the act of starting, stopping, reset, the chrono's second hand will reset to ~2.2 seconds, then 2.4, 2.6, 2.8, 3.0, to where it is now, at ~3.2 seconds. The minute hand on the chrono subdial also resets to -1 minute.
- If you try to start the chrono, then stop it at exactly 12 o'clock, then plan on never using the chrono again, the chrono's minutes and hour functions on the top subdial keep running (right picture). I remember from a previous poster here that you should not continuously run the chrono.
- I googled the topic and the only solutions were for watches with quartz movements, not automatics (7750 Valjoux).
Thanks in advance, 🤠

I've owned 2 PAM104s so far. Both were from the same RWG-recommended dealer and they lasted about 5 years each before stopping. Looking to buy a 3rd. Which is the best version and where is a good place to purchase one?
I've searched all the forums and most of the info is years old.
Here are 2 versions that I am looking at for possibilities:
I recall posts regarding series and factories, but am unsure as to what that means. I presumed the later letters of the alphabet are newer generations, but from the pictures of the 2 above, the 'N01' appears newer than the 'SW01'.
Thanks in advance,
🤠

Was talking to Joshua about something else just now and he mentioned that he has already forwarded the info to you.
Anyway...his english name is Joshua Andrew King and Chinese name is WHO HE
Thanks, that helps.
Anyway... my name is Alan Schezar.
-
If he emailed you the name to use why would you need to double check it on the forum
Because it's Western Union.
Not a fan of the way Western Union works.
Last time I used PayPal.
Thanks anyways.
-
none of the dealers would chance using their own names...
that would be a definate "brain fart" to put their actual name on paper ..
it's usually a distant cousin or associate..
Interesting...
-
all you need is the name spelled exactly as it was given to you.. first name is usually 2 seperate names..and last..
then country.. that's it.. nothing else is needed.. if one letter is out of place the money will not be released
so make sure the clerk spells it correctly .. check you reciept to verify this..
I am talking from experience.. regarding the spelling errors that WU can make..
you confirm the name with Joshua.. not on a forum.. FYI
Thanks, but I got the name from Joshua from email.
I'm double checking it here.
-
you need to email Joshua.. ask him what name to apply to the WU paper work.. it won't be his name.. so just follow his instructions.. and do not post that name anywhere..
just follow "his "directions"
Thanks, but I got the name... just want to confirm it.
-
Anyone Know what Joshua's WU Name Is? (It's not Joshua)
About to send a Western Union payment, so I want to make sure..
Perhaps you can PM me it?
Thanks,
-
Wow. The options are almost endless. Give us some help with a price range/limit, material desired, etc. A "good" leather strap source might not be a source for "good" gator straps, etc.
Price is probably the easiest place to start.
I'm also looking for a "good" strap...
I've been having trouble finding one because I'm looking for a Deployant Strap, not a Buckle Strap.
Can you recommend any or any sites in the ~$50 price range?
Thanks,
-
Now the wait begins!
Which dealer did you get it from?
Did you buy by Credit Card or Western Union?
Post pictures after it arrives!

You mean like this?
PWC @ RG has them for $329
Can anybody provide an analysis/review of the accuracy of this rep, the Platinum Mat?

Can anybody comment on the accuracy of this Hublot BB model? The Big Bang Platinum Mat?
http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?mar...10&vote=yes
I am looking for a HBB with a white face, and this is one of the few ones that have it. Accuracy weighs heavy on my mind with this one, as well as the fear that the so-called 'Platinum' is just a big giveaway for it being a rep. Along the same lines, I've stayed away from any rep that has 'gold' on it.
I've searched the site and haven't found anybody that has bought and reviewed it so far. Hope you all can help,
Thanks,
-
I wonder how many people who buy 'real' watches have fake breasts, capped teeth and hair plugs.
-
Picked one up a month back and mine has black hands. I understand the first gen Plat mats had polished-shiny black hands and later on a mat finish to accompany the case. Excellent rep, only flaw is the flipside like them all.
I agree the Tuiga is the most accurate out there with the caseback on it.
Do you have pictures/review of your HBB Platinum Mat?
The flaws on the flipside generally don't bother me because it's the side that doesn't show
Thanks,
-
All is normal. He sends a invoice to the email address associated with your PayPal account. You go to your PayPal account and pay the invoice. It's the best way to do it because it doesn't allow you to put something stupid like "fake watch" in the note field.
Hopefully your watch will not go through the Dallas customs office. I hear very bad things about that customs office.
Which dealers still use PayPal? I thought PayPal stopped allowing dealers to use it...
-
Who did you buy this one from? How did you pay and how much? Do any sellers still take paypal nowadays?
Thanks,
-
The "6" is open on 104 F-G-H series, closed on other series.
Lanikai's "l swiss made l" placement is correct to some 104J pieces.
If you want a "l swiss made l" placement correct to the majority of 104 models you should go with a DSN 104.
In this case you also get a correct serial number, but a slightly too rounded crown, and a slightly too thin caseback border.
Interesting... Thanks sssurfer and rolli, I didn't realize that there were different series...
With that, what are the major differences between a DSN 104 (~$280 USD) from this 'Ultimate 104' (~$400)?
Which 104 would you recommend/prefer?
Thanks again,
-
I have a Question.. Why is this PAM 104 called the 'Best Version' or "Ultimate 104" when the '6' on the dial is a closed 6, whereas the Gen 104 has an open '6'?
I mean.. isn't that a bigger giveaway than the split "L Swiss Made L"?? Not to mention the 'Swiss Made' is too close to the 6...

I wouldn't go that route. It will be pure luck if a strap for a tang buckle fits a deployant. And you don't want to cut a strap as it ruins the integrity of the strap as they are usually sealed on the sides. And if you have to cut on the inside of stitching all bets are off. There are plenty of deployant straps available from numerous suppliers.
Thanks Toad and Kruzer, that's both very helpful info.
That said, I guess I'm going to have to do either a lot more looking, or a lot more waiting.
My preferred choice of strap right now is a Black Shark Skin with Black Stitching with padding, at 24/24 and ~120/75, and deployant... at a reasonable price.
That's a tough combination to find! The closest I came from the suppliers on our links page had everything but the deployant, and it was a little short, 115/70.

They are all sold by the same dealer. There appears to be slight differences in the descriptions, but how much of a difference is it?
