  1. Personally, and it's just my two cents, but I think dealers should limit new transactions with new buyers to other methods of payment, and reserve the PP option for their more regular customers whom they have repeat business with. This helps offset the risk of having PP complaints from the first time newb who only cares about purchasing one watch. I say this as not everyone has the dealer's or other purchaser's (and forum member's) best interests in mind.

  2. The correct datewheel is not valid for current etas.

Ofrei sells them, but it counts opposite eta datewheel does. <_<

So we have to change the whole movement. Right Randy? :)

Correct, Manuel! The genuine Rolex cal 1570/5 has the datewheel rotating counterclockwise (ETAs rotate clockwise)...

    Genuine silver datewheels:

And A.Schild movements (note the datewheel rotation):

  3. Great job Ludo!! Aligning the datewheel with the window is never easy- As I've done a good number of these (along with swapping the datewheel overlay), I know exactly how frustrating that task can be!

Looking forward to seeing the finished product! This watch is already gorgeous! When the mods are done, it's going to be a jaw dropper :o

    ;)

  4. Errr... But the tourbillon isn't visible on the genuine either :bleh:

Still... A very pathetic fake none the less

Speaking of non-existant tourbillons, I need to see if I still have images of a terribly bad fake with the tourbillon escapement actually printed on the dial. Yes, printed.

  5. Please bear in mind that not is all as it may appear: although a case may look "1:1" on the outside, to use the current jargon, it may very well be far from accurate on the inside.

Indeed. The case may hold true proportions on the exterior, but the manufacturer is going to do everything they can to make fitting an ETA 2836 inside as easy as possible for 'mass' production pieces.

  6. Man, Chris! That's some [censored] news. Glad to hear that some of the transactions are being addressed by PP, but being out £400 blows

If I can help out, please let me know!

As an aside... What's the best way to check your computer for key loggers? With all this talk of compromised PW's, I'd like to know what to look out for as a precautionary!
