  1. With the way my rate of return on current investments and assets is going this year, it's going to be a long while before I find out
  2. I oft times wonder if the stinkin' filthy uber rich multi-millionaires out there ever run out of things to buy.
  3. Indeed; no mods on this one. Been meaning to do some work on it, but always get side tracked with other projects going on...
  4. Even some of the prices of the Pre-As... Just makes me appreciate my Pre-A 002 build even more!
  5. Wow... They discontinued this thing?? I rarely ever wear mine, but I'm glad I held onto it!
  6. So the new A7753 might not be a true 1:1 with Swiss, but at least it's a solid and reliable mech. Thanks for the review AND follow up, Zig! I am sure the question of quality and longterm reliability of this new movement was on the minds of many; your look inside is something that few can bring to the table, let alone in true Zigmeister style and form.
  7. Well, that's how you get things done when there's no real viable solution otherwise! Congrats, burnz!
  8. Definitely need a dial protector when using levers, but I agree; they are very well made and very useful
  9. Ali- That's not what I would call a Superdome, per se. The raised sides are more characteristic of the later service replacement. The Superdome is more like your first image:
  10. Some movies are worth watching more than once... Like 'Back Door Babes 13' and 'Gonzo Fuckin' 3'; those are classics!
  11. Pirated movies... As in Pirates of the Carribean?
  12. Most of the Swiss ETA 2846 movements out there are old stock anyways, I believe; that is not a current production movement to my knowledge, so even with the changes in distribution ETA is introducing, that wouldn't have much of an effect on availability. If you are set on having a confirmed Swiss 2846, I'd keep an eye out for a complete donor watch with this movement inside. Shouldn't be very expensive, and may have better luck than trying to find a movement a la carte (though I still see those available from time to time as well).
  13. Well, there are a couple of crystals out there for the 1665; the original 'Superdome' 25-39, a medium domed 25-39, a service 25-39 which has a slight dome, raised sides and a bevel at the edge, etc. There are no flat topped crystals available for the 1665 (genuine or otherwise to my knowledge), if by flat the defined surface is actually flat (a la the 25-127 on the 1680)...
  14. I have a feeling that Burnzy here is pulling our chain and is in fact showing us a gen...
  15. Easy! Buy the watch as a complete gen!
  16. Zig sets the bar... But nothing new there Another excellent review and tear down! It's always interesting to get a peek inside of these mechanical marvels to wrap ones' head around how these things tick. Thanks for taking the time to share your discoveries with us!
  17. Well, that's one way to get an accurate 187! Congrats! Those gen parts must have cost a small fortune, eh?
  18. Excellent rule of thumb, A. I have a local guy that I use to pressure test my watches once a year. Cost is $5 per test, so it's cheap insurance
  19. Looking fantastic, Brendo! Nice Snowflake for your collection!
  20. There are times when I really miss mine... *sigh*
