  1. I've seen a few of these on the Bay and other online sites for well under the $2K range...Most likely will be next gen purchase. I'll be in Hong Kong next month and with their hordes of ADs, I'm sure I can find an amazing deal!
  2. VERY NICE! I love how deep the dial sits in the case and the AR is amazing! Congrats!
  3. I've always liked Baume & Mercier...I own a gen Malibu and Formula S Chrono... Personally, I like the Riviera Chrono...Check out the versions that I prefer below:
  4. Whoaaa......$110 for double-sided AR?!?!? The "Lite" version is definitely the way to go...
  5. Anyone else having trouble accessing RWI (a.k.a. The Darkside)?
  6. I prefer shirts with French cuffs. I've never had issues with any of my watches when wearing these types of shirts.

    TWP 'Plume'

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha... Actually, I think I read somewhere that RC Cola makes their drink my simply mixing Coke and Pepsi in very strict proportions.
  8. I've been pricing out the parts for a Swiss 7750 and Gen Hands franken project...Aside from Ofrei.com, is there another good source for the hands? BTW...the double AR on my crystal really makes the dial come alive! It's unfortunate that I effed-up my movement while tinkering.
  9. Were you wearing your SOSF while chatting with the watch peddler?
  10. Did not know that! Thanks for the advice! I will do this from now on... I believe you are correct. The balance does not seem to move very freely. I've referenced my ETA charts and I think I've found the part that you are referring to. It's buried deep in there...At this point, I may attempt to get to it and "play around". I'm fairly certain that I will be transplanting a Swiss 7750 into this case so this A7750 will be a movement that I can tinker with and learn on. Thanks for your advice and guidance! Regards, DuDro...
  11. A gentle nudge to the balance wheel did not work...Let's see if The Zigmeister chimes in... I'm tempted to install a Swiss 7750 w/ genuine hands...Would make a fine franken-SMP!
  12. Need some help... The movement was running fine when I had the watch disassembled with the crown and stem in place. I "re-cased" the movement and inserted the crown and stem, and now it does not run. I can wind the watch with the stem pulled out to the 1st position. I can advance the date wheel with the crown in the 2nd position; and I can change the time with the crown in the 3rd position. The rotor spins freely as well and I can hear it winding, but still not running...Any thoughts on what could be the preventing the watch from running? Could something in the "keyless works" be keeping the movement in "hack" mode? Please share your thoughts on this...Thanks in advance!
  13. This is good know for members that engage in trades around here...Thanks for the notice!
  14. Chomping at the bit...Money burning a hole in my pocket...What's the latest? And thanks again for making this possible for the community!
  15. Thanks for the input...I can't decide which one to get. I need house at least 14-automatic watches...
  16. Greetings All... I'm about to invest in some watch winders for my growing collection of gen and rep watches. I've been looking at various size winders and I need some input from the community. Has anyone had issues with winders that have double slots on a single motor? Like the one below... Or like this one... My main concern is having two watches positioned so close to one another. I don't want to run the risk of having a crown or crown guard rubbing against an adjacent watch. The other alternative would be to get a winder with single slots for each watch like the models below... Or like this one... Can you guys / gals provide some guidance on what I should do? In addition, please let me know which winders you have and which to stay away from. Thanks for your time and help in advance! ~ The DuDro...
  17. Should one be seriously concerned about having their "rep serial number" stolen for another rep???
  18. Just seeing who was paying attention...Ok, ok...here's mine for real...894199
  19. Tuesday, 09/18/07 Update... Still another delay...The engineer is working at a very slow pace. He is a really nice guy, very knowledgeable, but is hindered by his ripe old age of 82! I check in with him about twice a week. He thinks he should be done by Wednesday. I hope so!!! I can't wait to see the results and get my watches back together...Stay tuned for more!
