  1. Yes, there was another version prior to the current one. I was an early adopter of the new Ingenieur and was sent the old version on accident by Andrew. He then sent me the new one and told me to keep the original for the trouble. I've never sized the old one (just sits in the watch box), which is quite a bit different than the current model. Here are some pics including a couple with "new" version (which serves as my daily beater)...
  2. Wow - This is the first time I've seen a rep 253 with the correct sans serif font on the "10" in the 3 o'clock subdial. Looks great.
  3. That's great news! Looks like this is moving a lot closer to the top of my list. Thanks...
  4. I love the white face in this watch, but if I recall correctly, the white face gen comes only in a solid, decorated caseback. I believe the display back is only on the black model. Looks amazingly accurate on the wrist, however, and is one of the best looking white faced watches out there IMHO... Congrats...

    IWC Ingenieur

Great watch, but if memory serves, the AMG gen only comes in titanium... I have the ss rep with the standard dial - got it before the AMG came out - would love this version in titanium with the kevlar strap... Amazing photos as always...
  6. It is not "tart cart," but "tard cart." "Tard" being a shortened form of "retard." None of these would cross my lips today, but thought I would offer a clarification... As for "tart" in the U.S., it generally refers to a scantily clad young lady of questionable moral foundation...
  7. I work as a securities analyst for a firm not dissimilar from those you have available to you. Being relatively familiar with my competitors, I would stick with the AllianceBernstein Large Cap Value and the Fidelity Midcap Growth. I would also add a large cap growth - I see only the Columbus Circle mentioned - I don't know them but would assume it's ok. Between the 3 equity options, I would allocate 35% LC growth, 35% LC value, 30% MC growth. I would also add some fixed income in there (the first one in your list), perhaps 25-30% of your total - some people suggest 100 minus your age for your fixed income percentage exposure... If your not a professional, stay away from individual stocks - especially anything Kramer recommends - that guy is a joke (sorry to anyone offended) - everyone on Wall Street stares in amazement at anyone that follows him... Max out your contribution and never look back. Good luck...
  8. You could buy a VISA gift card from a local bank - I'm assuming you don't have to provide them identification if you buy it with cash. That way you end up with an essentially one-time use VISA card that is not easily tracable back to you and you don't have to worry about someone stealing your credit card info. They probably charge $4-5 dollars for the card...
  9. I agree with Indenial - looked like a Chopard Mille Miglia on Simon
  10. If it looks like lovepanerai's photos or like my avatar, it's fine. It looks etched to me, but I can see how at certain agles it may appear "milky"...
  11. I didn't look up the specs on the models you posted, but when looking for a small digital camera, I would be sure to get one that has a traditional viewfinder in addition to the LCD. My Sony DSC-N1 has a very nice 3" LCD but no traditional viewfinder - taking pictures indoors without very good lighting is quite a challenge, as the LCD is too dark to make out what you're shooting. I just picked up a DSLR (Nikon D50) because I've tired of this and the shutter lag when trying to capture moments of the kids (plus I already had a couple Nikon lenses from my dust-gathering film SLR). Good luck in your search - there's a lot of great stuff out there for very little money. Canon point and shoots tend to receive a lot of favorable press from my understanding...
  12. I posted a few pics of this watch a few days ago. See below... Link...
  13. While the pics aren't working for me, I assume it's the same watch. Looks like the price is coming down already... http://perfect-clones.com/hb10001-bang-bla...nos-p-2359.html
  14. If you're interested in an automatic, I would go with a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic. You should be able to get one for under $300 and they come in a 38mm if you're concerned about size. It comes with an ETA 2824-2 movement, and looks pretty good for a no frills watch. If you're willing to bump up the price range a bit, Hamilton has plenty of additional nice things to choose from...
  15. Unless you've been told otherwise, I'd be willing to bet this is the same version everyone else has. The 40mm case diameter is probably a typo. The gen midsize is listed at 34mm. Oh, and I'm pretty confident IWC does not make the AMG style in a midsize.
  16. I believe the visual flaws of the new chrono version have been discussed, but I am not well versed in them. I own the non-chrono version and can tell you it is a fine watch. The advantage of the chrono version is that is lacks a date wheel, which has the wrong font on the non-chrono rep. The disadvantage is that you move into the the questionable reliability issues of a 7750 with seconds at 6. The gen AMG chrono and non-chrono come only in titanium, which is readily obvious from 10 feet. Most of us would not buy a rep with such an obvious tell. Too bad, because I tend to prefer the look of the AMG dial myself...
  17. Yes, it is the wrong caseback. Don't worry, no will will look past the fact that the watch is not titanium and go to the caseback to call you out. The former is much more obvious...
  18. I believe everyone carries the same version of this watch. TTK has been realigning the bezel for folks prior to shipment, which is supposedly more difficult to do than on the non-chrono SMP... Otherwise, no difference.
  19. No one will notice that the hands are too short on the AMG Inge - they'll be too busy wondering why the watch is made out of the wrong material. The AMG gen only comes in titanium... nguyendd: I think you're out of luck when it comes to the replacement dial. I have a bad one (not from GB) and can't get a replacement either. If you find someone that will source it, please let me know...
  20. To follow on Jonathan's comment, I don't know why you don't see the 6-9-12 orientation Speedmasters. The problem with the moonwatch and broad arrow is the incorrect subdial spacing - sorry, I just can't get over this obvious flaw. Repping one of the 6-9-12's with the 7750-like spacing would allow a near perfect rep ala the tag chrono... I would love to see either of these...
  21. While I hate to crap on Sash's offering, I would avoid this version. I have one that was sent to me in error when I ordered my Inge - it is not nearly up to the standard of the current version (I was told to keep it after my new one arrived, and plan to dissect it for fun). The case is totally different, the bracelet has the old style pins, the dial print is weak, and generally feels cheap compared to the new version. The only difference I could spot between Sash's offering and the one I have in a drawer at home is a nickel movement instead of brass...
  22. Hello all- Given that I've seen some interest on this board regarding Fortis, I thought I would let people know that sierratradingpost.com has a Fortis Spacematic on a bracelet for $699 (others seem to carry it for $800+). I received an email from sierratradingpost.com with a 20% off offer, bringing the price down to $560. The offer I received is not a code, but rather a direct link from the email that applies the discount once it is placed in your cart. The link includes my email address in it, but I'm sure would work for someone else. Link to watch on sierratradingpost Because the discount link includes my personal email account, I will not be posting it here, but would be happen to send it to someone who is interested... For those not familiar with sierratradingpost.com, I have ordered many things from there and find them very good (though you do end up with at least 2 catalogs from them in the mail every month)... Regards.
  23. Have to agree here - the wrong shape of the omega logo is frustrating...
