  1. http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=7224 What's with the 'hour markers' cut at a 'funny slant' as they move towards the outside perimeter of the dial...is that on a 'gen'...?
  2. Thanks for the info...just seems like a natural to rep the Tudor Snowflake.
  3. Thanks for that. I did check out Phong's site. "Regular $1250. on sale $950...yikes! What jsutifies that price. A PT 1680 white-dial 2846 looks to be a better purchase.
  4. I was looking at Yuki's Tudor Snowflake's and they seem awfully expensive for a rep (or are they real ?). Anybody else make this model...something unique about seeing those squares/blocks on the dial, and I love the implied history behind them (French Navy, etc.). PS I know a lot of you are 'builders' and it's easy for you to reply...."hey, just build one". But I'd have better luck at brain surgery. I'm a buy-it not build-it type.
  5. Thanks again LHOOQ for your input!
  6. Yuki wrote me back and said that they put a 'brand new' 2836 engine into their watch(s). Would the Yuki-built Rolex models with this engine be any better (as the rep dealers can perhaps give you engines that are either old or not what they say they are.
  7. Thanks Amigo! That's why I like this forum.
  8. I have not heard much in the way of opinions regarding Yuki built watches. But I am considering the purchase of this one (Omega Seamaster 300)... http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/ite...20/8453038.htm Anybody have anything 'pro' or 'con' regarding this watch (and builder)...?
  9. highoeyazmuhudee, Just for your info and to add to what you have stated...a few months ago I was out pricing Casio G-Shocks as a gift for my daughter, and was walking about on the 3rd floor at MBK. I would stop occasionally to ask a vendor if there were any neighboring dealers dealing in discounted G-Shocks. I happen to stumble upon a small out of the way booth with a guy who had the back of a new Rolex 116610 opened. I came in closer for a better look, and he said that it was a rep with an ETA movement and let me examine it with a jewlers magnification eye-piece. It was a very nice looking replica. I asked him where it came from, and he said Taiwan. He said he could get me anything I wanted...and he was a lot nicer guy than Khun Piek. I have not gone back there since, but it shows that there is at least one other dealer with most likely the same source doing the same thing. On your next Trip to Bangers, I suggest you spend some time cruising the building. In the mean time, if I go back to MBK and have the time, I will try to find this guy again and look at his inventory in greater detail.
  10. Here's a question I've harbored for sometime...the last time I visited MBK (last year), upon inspecting some merchandise I asked him (Nah Piek)if his source was Guangzhou or Taiwan...he said all his inventory came from Taiwan. I know for a fact that Thai's are not manufactoring any of this as they lack the ability to have any attention to detail that is required here (17 years of living and working with the Thais). So, why aren't 'dealers' by-passing this character and going straight to the source...?
  11. highoeyazmuhudee, That is a right-on discription of what goes on here not only at this retailer, but in the whole culture of this weird and strange country. Thai (Chinese-Thai) logic defies the laws of gravity and all the principals of physics...!
  12. highoeyazmuhudee, regarding the MBK shop, I have been there several times in an attempt to purchase something (I live & work here), and the guy is just such a [censored]-[censored]-slimeball, that each time I just walk. I have lived here too long to trust any Chinese-Thai's. I love the way he says "EEEEEH TAAAAAH" for ETA.
  13. Are the HE valves sealed closed on these...?
  14. Regarding the 'dive-mask' logo...the word I was looking for is... "Cartoon-ish" as in, not very serious...about your product...which I think you are.
  15. Nice watch and nice price-point. I think the the 'dive-mask' logo makes it look cheap...kinda like a Russian watch. Keep it simple and professional.
  16. "Just a heads up guys if mine is the best the rest must be junk so dont buy them from him!!!!!!!!!!!!" Well, I gues 12 exclamation marks says it all.
  17. I know there are lots of 'builders' and modifiers on this forum, and I just saw this advert from a guy who has 6 cases for sale watch models (16234/16220)...so I thought I would pass along the link on TZSC: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=5273226&rid=0
  18. Hi Ciccio, Such and beautiful and unique watch. I will talk to a watchsmith about putting one together for me. Thanks
  19. Ciccio, Does a Valjoux 7750 (say from Otto Frei US$390.) just pop right in there...? My estimatation is that this would cost around US$1300. - $1500. to build...?
  20. What a 'cool' looking watch...!
  21. I see your point regarding this being a hobby for many. Shaving gc's to look more authentic, better crystal, bezel inserts, etc, I understand. But the OP said that he received a non-functioning or ill-functioning bezel, and via pictures displayed, has gone to quite a bit of hassel/headache just to get it functioning. I have a sub LV with gc's that are not correct, but the watch functions and keeps excellent time as an everyday wearer for the past 11+ months.
  22. btocamelo, Did you have 'bezel problems' with your Puretime 1680...?
  23. I am considering the purchase of this watch (vintage 1680 White from Puretime). However, the last thing I want to be doing is pay full price and then have to mess around with flawed parts...I just want a plug & play no hassel vintage rep. Is this a common occurance on this model...?
