It's only 'real' if the serial number is at 6:00 and the model number is at 12:00. Otherwise it's a Fugazi. As any watch-smith can turn your submariner into one in a matter of minutes.

"Texas is a pretty large state! Plus it is kind of a epicenter for watches! We got the RSC here in Dallas." That is no excuse! Bloody Texans...there're everywhere. There's even one that lives in my building, and I live almost 10,000 miles from the bloody place. And guess what kind of watch he wears...a Datejust! Go figure...
-
"Very true. Also a great builder of the subs when he wants to!" Too many 'Texans' on this forum...! (joking)

I here great things about the made in "Great Britain" SMITHS EVEREST PRS-25. http://www.timefactors.com/smiths.htm

"MY MAN MATT" is the guy to go to. He is is Dallas,Texas. Has been building watches since 1985. He just put together for me my 'Ultimate Datejust'. It is a 16220 with a gen Rhodium Roman Dial, gen Crystal, gen Gasket, gen Engine-turned bezel, gen Crown, gen Swiss ETA 2836, on a Jubilee bracelet...and looks like a million bucks! Custom builds to your specs. Spends several days regulating the watch, high-pressure water testing (says I can dive with mine), and backs his work. Much preferred over the 'wham-bam-thank-you-mam' Chinese BS. For what it's worth...

I was at a meeting a couple of months ago with the owner of a string of hotels here in SEA, and he was wearing one. I couldn't take my eyes off it, and it looked just 'perfect' on him. He was half English and half Chinese and had sort of an olive complexion. Rose gold Daytona with a rose gold dial and black circled sub-dials. It kept coming to mind for the next 4-5 days. It seemed understated, but very present.
-
This is what a "Modern Day" Daytona should look like IMHO.

I like it...it reminds me of a Zenith El Primero! http://professionalwatches.com/2010/02/zenith_el_primero_chronograph.html -
Welcome aboard. GRAHAM London The Review..............

I seriously doubt they would let you board a commercial aircraft wearing one of those...! -
White-gold surrounds never lie...

I like the dial font/lettering/clarity of the 2nd watch, but have to agree with the poorer bracelet fit.

I Like...!

However...I just looked at a 'gen Santos 100 on Amazon, and it DID NOT have that space... So maybe just a 'gen' dial flaw on a few models.
-
The other issue I just noticed is that on the numeral IIII (4), there is a slightly larger gap between 2nd and 3rd (I), where as the reps have all identical spacing between the IIII (numeral 4). I just noticed it again on another gen for sale on another forum.

Nice looking watch. Does it have the Selita SW200 movement? And which dealer is 'Joshua', as I looked in the dealer section and his name does not appear...
-
I am wanting to know if any AP Divers come with a Selita SW200 movement? While some ETA's can be 'old' movements or 'recycled', I get the feeling that any SW200's being used would be NEW movements (?). Does anybody have any experience with this? Cheers

The U.S. was the second biggest market up 19.6 percent for the period to 906.3 million Swiss francs ($1.1 billion). Recession...what recession...?! Given that Swiss watches are not exactly a necessity in life...this is a preview most likely of all luxury sectors in the USA... Only the lower-middle and lower class in America are challenged. People with the creativity and the where-with-all appear to be prospering...given this statistic (and take a look at the value of the Swiss Franc vs. the dollar)

Interesting read... Watch exports in the first half of 2011 showed a year-over-year increase of 19.3 percent to 8.7 billion Swiss francs ($10.8 billion) led by growth in Asia, according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH). Last year’s level was surpassed by more than 1.4 billion francs ($1.7 billion), placing the sector above 2008 export levels. http://www.forbes.com/sites/anthonydemarco/2011/07/25/asian-consumers-tell-time-with-swiss-watches/

I believe he is selling bezel(s) separately...

I do not know anything about this, but just happen to see it while browsing craigslist. Looks like he has a 16014 available as well. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/jwl/2502504166.html

To my eye, that's a much better looking bracelet than the one on the Nautilus. Wish they were interchangable.

I thought I read somewhere that the Yachtmaster bracelet was 21mm...lug to lug width... Sorry, that was the Yachtmaster II... 'pinned' at the top of this forum.

Ultimate Cartier Santos XL 100, 5 days to my doorstep...

Looks beautiful! How many different sizes of the Santos are there...? -
This enclosed post starts off with a brown dialed Air King, which is kinda cool, but then somebody shows their all-brown GMT Master next to their PN Daytona. I had never seen an all-brown GMT before, so thought I'd share...further down is a brown dialed Sea Dweller. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=182159
