  2. Even though this is an old post, it is a treasured gem and SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING for anyone who joins this rep forum or the other reputable ones. I only wish I had known this back in October of '09. Yes, I had ordered a watch from afineluxurytime.com ($220 Rolex Sub TT) and from A Global Replica ($250 for a Rolex SubLV, but they sent me the wrong one). I was one-for-one with them. Afineluxurytime.com sent me the watch; but wasn't bad but as I know now, it wasn't worth the $R220+ I paid for it. Call backs to AFLT got no answer. Global Replica was worse and burned me for $270. The watch they sent was both the wrong one and a giant POS that didn't work. Repeated phone calls, emails, letters, etc. got absolutely NO REPLY. Even the Better Business Bureau couldn't budge them. Since then, I've discovered this forum and others and am now "safe." I can attest to the accuracy of this post; PLEASE, do yourselves a favor and read, post, save, and reread this post. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble and money. dave
  3. Say, are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is that a Pam on Mom's wrist?? dave
  4. Another of the famous jmb projects?? Looks great (as usual))! dave
  5. Hi, Jawo! No need to apologize, as you did everyone on this forum A FAVOR. I know because I purchased rep Rolex Subs from both afineluxurytime.com and esp. globalreplica.com Both ARE scammers. With AFLT, they actually sent me a watch, which cost me $220, plus shipping; the watch WAS nice, but when compared to the reps available from Trusted Dealers on this forum and the other sister forums, it couldn't match up. From globalreplica.com, they were even worse! For $270 total, the sent me a POS Sub that didn't work! Not only was it the wrong model I had ordered, it also was damaged! To make a long story short, weeks & weeks of emails, phone calls, LETTERS, etc. got me NO RESPONSE. All I had asked for is an exchange for a working Sub, no dice. I even contacted the Great New York City Better Business Bureau, they couldn't help as well. You learn your lessons the hard way at times. Desiring to avoid this again, web searches brought me here and to other respectable rep sites. To all noobs out there, heed his lesson well!! When purchasing reps -- GOOD reps, stay with the Trusteds!! dave
  6. In honor of International DSSD day, here's some pics of my "wrist weight:" dave
  7. Hi, Czechmate! First of all: b e a u t i f u l photos. You have photo skills I can only envy. Great job, man!! Second: I've leared through my local authorized Rolex dealer* that Rolex stopped putting the hologram on their watches after 2007. This is also something some of the moderators on RWI have pointed out. Apparently, Rolex felt that counterfeit versions of their holograms had progressed to a level that made them almost indistinguishable from theirs. So, they stopped placing them on their newer ones. (Personally, I like the green hologram, so I bought a small sheet of them online and place them on the reps lacking them.) *I have a gen Rolex DateJust and have visited his store several times for service & while there have handled the gens, like Submariners & the like. Great feeling!! Hope this little post was helpful. Keep up the great work with the pics, Czechmate. They're great! dave
  8. Excellent discussion on the whys and hows of Rolex-wearing. But, I find that much of the discussion is based upon personal preferences and values, and that's how it should be. It's like asking why someone drives a Chevy versus a Nissan; or, yet, a Porsche or BMW. Whatever it is, it holds allure for that person. For myself, I like Rolex because it's synonomous with luxury, craftsmanship, and durability. And, to me, those are what makes this watch so attractive. Yes, there are other fine watches just as durable and fine-looking as Rolex (think Seiko, Invicta, Croton, Timex, etc.)-- and I have several of them, but when it comes to shear impact, you can't beat a Rolex. There are other luxury watches, such as Panerai, Patek Phillipe (spell.), Hublot, etc, and these watches are all VERY expensive; but when it comes to name recognition, it's Rolex. Does one have to be wealthy to own one, no. Take me, for example, my wife bought me a beautiful TT DateJust back in '07 (for a lot of reasons) and it was a one shot purchase. We live modestly, I drive a Nissan Maxima and she drives a Toyota RAV4. Purchasing and owning a Rolex, for me, was simply a dream come true. Crazy, perhaps, but that's my choice. I'd love to own a Porsche, but that's not going to happen in this lifetime. The only "sad" experience I've had wearing the DateJust is people simply DO NOT NOTICE IT. In the three years I've been wearing it, only ONE person ever asked me "Is that a Rolex?" And, it turns out he was a watch collector, too; his love were Breitlings. I don't believe it's necessary for us to explain/defend why we purchase a certain brand -- just as we don't have to justify to others why we spend money buying replicas. It's what we, as individuals, like and want to do; And, that, my friends, should be the most important element. dave
  9. I second the "W0W" factor; absolutely beautiful scene; very meditative and serene. Good Job!! dave47
  10. nope; don't believe so, but then, Daves are know to be talented -- and humble... .
  11. Hi, All! Greetings from Northeastern Pennsylvania! I joined this forum a little while ago but was a little "shy" about posting. After reading all the comments and following the conversations, I've come to realize what a great place this is, and what a great bunch of people inhabit it. It's a great refuge from all the scammers on the 'Net. I like the experts here & their willingness to help you when you need it. After being scammed myself, I feel very safe here. I wish I had joined earlier; I would have saved myself a lot of money and aggrevtion. dave47
  12. You did everyone a fine service to reveal this info, J. I can personally vouch for the accuracy of your data because, unfortunately, I DID fall victim to them -- Global Replica, who took my hard-earned $270 after they sent me a piece of junk which didn't work. Yes, it's true that they insist upon COD or wire: they had me conviced that COD was the way to go; of course, it's then that I was introduced to the reality and not the myth: I could not inspect the goods before handing the FedEx driver my cashier's check (against company rules; a phone to FedEx (and UPS) confirmed this reality). With Global Replica, all my literally dozens of emails, phone calls, personal letters to them asking them to honor their returns/exchange policies were for nought. All I got was either silence, or the run-around. It was then that I did more research, especially through Whois.net that revealed to me the umbrella structures Global Replica was using. I wished I had known about RWG Forum and RWI before then (Fall of 2009), but I didn't. Kudos to you, Jawo, for your posting. The wider the dissemination of your findings, the better. I salute you!. dave47
  13. Avoid GlobalReplica.com, period! Ordered a Rolex Submariner 50th Anniversary edition; sent the wrong watch, which turned out to not only be the wrong one; it also didn't work, either; was broken; numerous emails, phone calls and letters were fruitless. Never heard from them again. Also, don't fall for the idea that you can inspect your package before paying express services; doesn't happen. Skeptical? Call the company. Joining both RWG and RWI was the best thing I ever did. Future orders for reps will only be through these organizations.
