  1. Does this one have the correct hand stack?
  2. 10-4, I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
  3. Well the crown didn't work. It was actually very loose on the stem and wouldn't screw down on the tube. I am going to order a gen tube but what do you guys think about the stem. I can order a gen stem for the 3135 but will it work okay in the eta 2836 mvt?
  4. My bad, $9925 is correct, $11250 is what my guy is selling them for (with an open warranty).
  5. I believe that $11750 would be about 8200 Euros if my calculations are correct.
  6. I've actually seen them as low as $8,000 over the past year. If you don't go vintage I'd go with the 116520 right now. Very few around and most ADs don't discount them much if any.
  7. The 116520 retails at $11,750. I believe that the SS white dial version would be the best investment out of the new models and are getting hard to find. For the best investment a vintage model would be best. 16520 go from around $9,000 up $12,000 depending on dial and age. I can get 116520s at $10,500 while at the same time I get 20-30% off on other models. MUch harder to find that other Rolex models.
  8. I'm hoping that I'll get real lucky and that crown will go right in there with no problems, we'll see. If not, I have a friend that is a watchmaker, I'm sure he can help me out. I do plan on buying a good watchmaker tool set though since I'm thinking real hard about building a 6263. I've been looking around for gen parts and have found a bunch so far, even a Val 72. Thanks for all of the help guys, I'll let you know how it goes. The crown should be here tomorrow or Thursday.
  9. Thanks for the advice, I have never done one before but it doesn't look too difficult. I'll let you know how it goes.
  10. I think it will work, we'll find out in a couple of days, got it ordered and on the way. Thanks.
  11. Well, I guess I'll just get the crown for now and see if it'll work w/o the new tube first. Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the help guys. The dial isn't as big a deal, the one on the rep is actually pretty good. But that crown bugs the hell out of me. I can get one for about $90 so I was going to do it. But if I'm going to need the tube also that may change things, the tube costs more then the crown so I have to decide whether I want to spend that much on a rep. Thanks again. CR
  13. Oh yeah, not that I have one right now but would a gen dial work too?
  14. Yep, another question from the new guy. If I had a gen crown for a 16613 will it work on rep 16613 I just bought from Trevor? And if so, do I also need the tube stem, etc... Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the info. So many options I'll just have to take my time and decide what to do.
  16. Where did you find the movement?
  17. Now that is an expensive option but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.
  18. Found them both and I recall reading them when I first got here. Thing is, I may have a spare white dial coming to me for nothing (long story) so I thought I'd try it. If you are sure it'll work I'm going to do it. I think I'll do the graphite treatment while I have it apart.
  19. I've got a crazy Daytona question. Let's just say I had a gen Daytona (current model of course) dial laying around. Would it fit on a rep Daytona that I got from WBK recently. HOpe that's enough info, I can probably find the link to it if needed.
  20. I've actually already found a Val 72 for a great price through my gen connections on another forum, I think that the rest will be more difficult. My guess is that a genuine case will be the hardest to find. Am I right?
  21. I think I'm good on the toolkit, bought a really nice one while back. I kind of buy and sell gen watches (Rolex, Omega mainly) as a hobby/side business due to a great source for both so I ended up getting one after everyone asked for help sizing bracelets, changing bands, etc... I have a buddy that's is a watchmaker so I think I can get a junker or two from him to practice on. I don't think I'll ever delve into working on the movements unless I go to a watchmaker school which I have thought about after retirement (if that ever happens). One question I was really interested in, the Val 72 movement. Just to show my ignorance, say I find one that is already inside another brand of watch besides Rolex. Is it the same movement as the Rolex Val 72? Or are they customized in any way specific to the brand?
  22. Wow, that was just what I was looking for. I have been looking around at gen parts and here's what I think I'm going to do. First, buy an old junker watch, take it apart, learn the guts, and put it back together a few times. Once I'm comfortable I'll get a "kit" from one of the one's you mentioned and build me a fair quality, Franken. In the meantime, collect gen parts as I can find them and over time put a complete gen vintage together. Does that sound like a feasible plan? I have a lot of good contacts in the "gen" world so I hope finding genuine parts won't be impossible. What does everyone think?
  23. I posted this on another forum but I'm not really getting any help so I thought I'd try here. Howdy all, first I'd like to say hello to everyone and say what an interesting world this is that I found. I have been an avid watch collector for much of my adult life and never realized that the "rep" world existed. I currently have a small collection that consists of a gen Planet Ocean, gen Speedmaster 50th Anniversay, a gen Vintage white dial Speedmaster, a vintage Seiko Chronograph, several other various Seiko dive watches, and the pride of my fleet, a 1965 Patek Philippe, Gen
  24. Thanks for the info, decisions, decisions...I may just wait for the "final" version to come out, who nows. If I do get the watch and the insert I'll probably order 2-3 inserts in case I screw one up.
