Hi everyone, I'm looking to pick up a 93150 for a gen 1680 while I save up for a gen and wanted some thoughts on where I should pick one up. I have one now from another rep, but the crown on the clasp is laughable. any suggestions?
Hi I want to know too i need one for my 5513 yuki build ! my gen crown is pending but i still have no strap !

Stunning watch shame They don't make this model I'd have one
Thanks , yes they should have one of us on the board of directors then we would really show them how to make em good !!! i would also have exact vintage re-makes for us vintage watch guys, i bend both ways vintage and some modern, i use the word some loosely !!1

I want to bevel the top of the lugs like the pelagos i think that would make the case look much better and along with a metal bracelet should be the icing on the cake

I love it!
Thanks fitmic ! very hard to photograph too much reflections from the crystal and ceramic bezel ! it looks even better in the flesh !

Well This build started with a dial that i never ordered and came in a package of parts that i ordered ,it sat in my parts box for over a year as i am mostly into vintage builds
this dial just looked to modern to use in any build
most of you will have seen my tudor blackbay fantasy or homage build , so after purchasing a ceramic case set from a member here (Watch parts for sale ) cheap i was going to build a project x type milsub using helenarou logos t dial , my watchmaker friend andreas (George loiz ) member wanted to make the crown guards pointed similar to the pelagos tudor sub, then we decided to use this blue tudor flake dial ,i then ordered a parnis full ceramic insert hoping that the blue colour will match the tudor blue dial
next i wanted a true ETA movement in this build so i bid on a rado 2836-1 eta i won it for 50 usd very clean and super condition so we got the ball rolling keeping in mind this is a low budget build and because it is a fantasy build no stress or worry trying to make it like the gen , and the best thing is there is no gen to compare it with which makes it also unique so here are some photos , i wanted to fit it to the sterile bracelet it came with but the lug holes will not match up with the the bracelets .
Specs
Case origin parnis ( I believe as parnis has a much thicker case than the gen ceramic case)
purchase from RWG member Devilseam along with other parts Thanks my friend !
Dial (can not remember mabe rafflestime)
Movement second hand Eta (rado ) 2836-1 cal Fully serviced by andreas
Helenarou snowflake hand set
Full ceramic bezel from ebay parnis watch seller
Total cost Under 140 usd
Crown guards pointed similar to the tudor pelagos by andreas
bezel edge polished
case sides brushed
Thanks to Andreas for helping me put this watch together ,lets post some of your own fantasy watches !!!

I took my watches for their annual pressure test. The tiger passed with flying colors to 10 bar or 100 meters. I think this is THE best bang for the buck case available.
Crystal was glued on with gs cement and stock gasket, retaining ring and sterile crown. If I could get someone to engrave the case and fit a gen like bezel and crown, I don't see needing a yuki case. Problem is by the time I add a good bezel and crown, I'm almost in to the cost of a yuki case
.I learnt that well , my blu flake sub using a cartel cost me around 580usd without the movement at the moment im in the middle of building my yuki 5513 just waiting for the gen crown and tube and i need a bracelet for it and some enhanced patination well mabe just the case as the dial i will leave as it is i already have a 5513 cartel case build that is aged so mabe this will be in more prestine condition mabe just remove the factory fresh look ,

TZ, VRF or any of the other gen Rolex sites should have plenty of pics of NOS &/or mint watches. Frankly, when it comes to tool watches, within reason, the more (natural) wear the better. A DD, DJ or any polished-case (formal) watch looks best when pristine. But a vintage Daytona, Sub, GMT or any brushed-case (sport) watch usually looks best when it shows its age & wear.

Unless your CGs extend beyond the crown, there is little that can be wrong with 40+ year-old CGs. Remember, nearly all of these watches have been worn, polished & abused for most of their lives, which leaves the cases looking different than the way they did when they left the factory. As long as the case edges are not perfectly crisp & minty, you are better off obsessing over something else (dial, crown, bracelet, etc).
You are correct ! i dont usually obsess about cgs but i notice that many member place a lot of importance on them ,i would love to see some clear photos of the gens when they were new from different angles .

Head on:
Thanks jerkstore !
-
Well looking at your crown guards my yuki case cgs look more like freddys than the others so over all the thickness is good !!! many thanks !
-
Thank you kind sirs !!
The world's most beautiful crown guards. ..............what's left of them.....................
Hey Nanuq they look like they been chewed by a polar bear ! now that is what i call an aged watch well mabe its not the age but the mileage ?
-
The Big wait ! i am tired of waiting hope it turned out to be a super watch !!!
-
I decided to buy my first yuki 5513 case but the crown guards seem off, the crown guard side of the case is finished with a slight inverted curve instead of flat i have started to refinish the none cg side to soften the case i will post some photos as soon as i can
I purchased a nice 5513 dial from a member here which has dial feet for a eta movement we have tried to fit the dial to an old 2472 movement but the dial feet are off by 1mm
so looks like they may have to be cut and im waiting for the gen crown and tube to arrive
My first 5513 was a cartel 1680 from puretime which accepted the 26mm dial although my 1680 from trusty would not ,i am using a series of wet n dry from 800 grade to 2,000 grade then finishing off with autosol metal polish although i may leave the finish up to 2,000 grade to dull the factory finish the overall look of this build will be none aged for a contrast to my well aged 5513 !
