  1. @jraines87 If Ecuador wins the World Cup, I'll send you one of my genuine watches. Your pick.
  2. Ah, the most important sporting event to me is finally coming up. 4 years of waiting is no more tomorrow. Too bad I'll have to remember it as my final day at work after close to 8 years.
  3. Too bad, I think I've run out of shirts to buy now, since I think I have all that I want now.
  4. Looks like the movement in the 090 reps. I had a feeling it was that one because of the date pusher.
  5. Football shirts are just way too expensive at almost US$100+ a pop. They are my second addiction as well, and I must have more than 100 from a huge variety of clubs and countries.
  6. Nope, I like to leave it frozen to see how many ignoramuses point at the watch and say "Hey, your watch is broken", having said that, I do use the chrono function often, timing things from how long it takes for me to get from one point to another, how long i've been biking/running, it actually can be quite useful at times.
  7. I have a bank account in Hong Kong, but I don't use it to hide money in it, I just use it for convenience since I travel there so often. I have nothing to hide, all my money was gotten legally and taxes were paid on it anyways. Tax evasion- don't do it. Short sweet and simple. Swiss bank accounts aren't what they used to be, they no longer have the anonymity they once did.
  8. I know how it feels mate, my Smart car was keyed up even worse when I was parked at a shopping mall in Markham. I was so [censored] off, but fixed it up, and it's fine now.
  9. http://cgi.tw.ebay.com/ROLEX-18K_W0QQitemZ...1QQcmdZViewItem Look, a replica solid 18K gold Rolex with a genuine movement! Only $4000. , when you can get a average condition used Daydate for $5000 or so.
  10. May have to get one these straps, I have the same watch, I like the different personality it gives it.
  11. Oops.............
  12. Nope. Full White Gold, Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, Platinum or Tricolour gold only.
  13. I'm considering one of these as a dress watch, it's simple, elegant and classy, in a class different from other Panerais. Wear it well!
  14. Looks lovely, more details please!
  15. It's not as easy as it sounds, it would be a bigger waste of time trying to convert it, just replace it with Swiss 7750 and you'll be much better off. Besdies, there's no date function on the 6497, rendering it useless for 024s, 092s, etc.
  16. I got the old 50s from a trip to Sydney in 1990, when I was 14, and the rest was leftovers from a trip to Australia in 2003. I collect paper money, but these are just my foreign currency reserves.
  17. Soon to be mine, the Patek 5970 in Rose Gold reigns supreme for me:
  18. Trying to improve my picture taking skills...... Here's a few more photos, in the spirit of the World Cup.
  19. Here's some pics of my Arktos, my new found love..... I've been wearing this watch for the past few days and can't put it down. It's currently on a Watchboys Ultrasoft Italian leather with white stitch, feels buttery soft, like Hermes straps. Take a lesson in foreign exchange too! Canadian $50s- $45 US each, Canadian $100s- $90 each. (Total is $8350, all but $350 went back into the bank today) 50 Pounds- $95 US, 20 Pounds- $38, 10 Pounds-$19 (200 pounds) 10,000 Japanese Yen- $90 each (300,000 yen) Hong Kong $1000s- $125 each (HK$10,000) Australia $100- $80, Australia $50-$40, Australia $20- $16 (A$300)
  20. Short and Simple: Try polishing them off with polishing compound, it works. And the bezel should be brushed.
  21. I'm in Chartered Accounting. Damn Ken, that's sucks, being reduced almost $100K a year in salary, I can only imagine what impact that must have on your family. I am disappointed that I am going to be dropped from the $250K< income bracket, but as life says, easy come easy go, fortunately, I have a nice nest egg saved up for the rainy days that may come ahead.
  22. In Canada, it is actually illegal to fire someone doing jury service, but this is not the reason my employer stated, he stated it as a company "downsizing", but I have this feeling of what the real motives are, probably just wanted to take the chance to fire me as well, since he was laying off 5 others as well.
  23. And best of all, my fiancee is with me every step of the way, even she wants a change up after living for so many years in Toronto. I'm stuck in that rut too, so it might be for the best. Only one major problem- My fiancee doesn't have a British passport, and there's absolutely no way I can get her one.
  24. A 450% profit, not too shabby might I say!
  25. Unfortunately, I am due to be laid off from my job on June 9th, along with 5 others in my workplace. I think that my boss chose to fire me because I was away for such a long time doing jury duty, as he noted at the end of 2005 that I had the best performance and productivity of everyone in the firm. Oh well, life goes on. But, I can say goodbye to my salary, since I was with the firm for such a long time, I had seniority benefits. I just hope it won't be too hard to find a new job again, and I'm even considering moving back to London for a change of life.
