  1. Well i have been here for over a year now providing u with new stuff to make your watches look better and also other stuff like helping many members with there watch problems, whether it was directly or indirectly connected , movements servicing, gold plating, etc.... OK here some things some should think about , just because u paid little to nothing for a watch does not mean your watch repairman/modifier is going to charge u any less for his time/work , lol what i mean is, we have set prices on things and just because u have a asian movment or a eta movment , the work to service it is the same , so why would u think we should be cheaper on the asian just because u paid a 100 bucks for the watch ? lol truth be known many of the asian autos/chronos take more time to overhaul and or fix , and most of us base our work on time and or certain jobs. This is about me, if u r in a hurry then u shouldnt send your watch to me, u have to be patient (usually 2 to 3 weeks but can be better or worse, just depends on the sitituation ) , i do not rush jobs, and i have many people that desire my work, so i stay pretty busy and or steady at worst, mostly i prefer doing cosmetic stuff and i have been pretty flawless for over a year , there is a reason for that actually, its because i take my time with each piece and i cant and will not zip through it , that is when quality starts to fail and that is when u read threads saying is this right? mine looks different than yours, and etc. i also do movments but i dont do them personally , i have a very competant friend that does them , hence the movment tutorial thread pinned under watch repair ! i also do gold plating, really, just about anything , lol if i havent done it i sure will try it , i love a challenge for sure!! Basically, if u want a rush job and cheaper price and a so so job , i am not your man, this is fun for me and my passion and if u think about it ,u dont see many watches i worked on go up for sale , to me that tells me the people r keeping them and wearing them and most of all enjoying them!!! which makes me feel happy , remember guys i have been doing this stuff for over a year for u and i can count on my hand how many watches i have done during this time that went for sale , (not many) so again i must be doing something right, right? By now many understands me and also understands that i spend alot of my personal time improving things or doing one on one talks helping people do it themselves and i invest in my hobby/passion(my money and time), many times i will buy a genuine just to go mod by, im a man that doesnt believe u can capture the true artistry from a picture on the internet , i also buy many replica watches just to see/know some differences to help guide people in questions like,Whos got the best___? ,many times ,i dont even really want that particular watch , lol its just fun to see and i do it for u guys mostly , and i only use the best tools for the job, (that cost money) , so what im getting at is ,i spend alot of money on trial stuff , projects, tools and just because i like to be versatile and great at what i do , i also have wasted money on many dumb tools and cheap watches and movments and parts , just to see if it was any better (lesson learned u get what u pay for), lol and again i spend alot of working and family time just to make improvments , to make u guys happier with your watches, i think i need therapy , lmao (Omg! i just basically said watches sometimes comes before my family , someone slap me,im sick lol ) Now i would like u to all know i really appreciate u all and love doing stuff and or helping all of u , whether it is using up free time to help u or doing work for u for a fee , to me if it is watch oriented , i love it , so there is no real dumb questions to me , if u couldnt find the answer to your question and u looked and asked others , please dont hesitate to ask me!!! Also i hope to meet u all sometime in the near future , i think it would be fun and educational , now back to work lol , please, this stuff is not pointed towards any one person , just stuff that i think about and wanted to share with u , just a little something about myself and who i am! Sincere, RBJ69(JOE)
  2. i use a press to put more of a slight bend like the contour of it already just more , u could use the rubber end of a hammar, i basically made mine out of a pvc pipe and then i have a piece that will catch the inside edge all the way around and press it down into the pvc pipe slightly so it will make it more cone shaped, if u buy a new one for a replacement u will see it is slightly more cone shaped, this keeps constant pressure all the way around it , and keeps spinning smoothly , its really hard to describe it but i think u will get the picture i just painted in words lol
  3. glad to see u back rob, cant wait to see your new stuff, how u like my thumbtool? lol
  4. his 4th generation is more accurate imho, but if u were looking for a 45mm one this isnt bad for a 120 bucks
  5. man absolute ? yuk, bring grey goose or belvedeer or even stolis but not absolute lol ok ok beggers cant be choosy ,just bring some apple puckers so i can make me a apple martini lol
  6. well if he is sick , i wish him well, but i agree it does look a bit weird
  7. nice to see u , have fun
  8. welcome my friend, glad to see u made it
  9. hey it is a open watch forum , if they want to post idiotic stuff let them , u dont have to read it, just like i dont lol it is fun to see just how far someone will go though lol
  10. hmmm i just said i would pay 40 bucks for them, but the problem with yours is they will not be all the same some will be good ones and some would be bad ones, and if i invested in 10 of them for 400 bucks and only get half of them ok then i lost 200 bucks and im not willing to do that, thats all i was saying when we were discussing it over at rwg, u know the 50 or 100 cyclops order , if u can get me 10 good ones for 30 or 40 bucks im in ok , so go go go go lol let quit talking about it and get er done , lol im in a good mood today cant u tell lol
  11. pay attention my d.c. friend (archi)the bet was getting it to fit by milling the 5.9 oh and also be a improvment and it was, lol nothing about keeping under 8 bucks was mentioned in the bet lol kruzer and i have spoke , its all in fun anyway u will see soon as i revieve the 5 bucks ok back to the subject at hand, i totally agree , if u can find us some that r as good or as better as the one i milled , especially for 8 bucks, put me in , its not that fun milling them actually lol but very doable for sure, lol so archibald hurry up and find us some 8 dollar alternatives , actually for about the same as i have i would pay 40 bucks without having to mill it , so there we have now boys get back to work lol cracking the whip down on you guys now , its been too long with only one decent result , im tired of looking at my ugly cyclops and now i have a submersible on the wath taht will need one as well so go go go go , lmao

  17. so r u the fish or the bear ?
  18. very cool combo
  19. LMAO, NO PROBLEM also surfferer, i beleive u saw the 5.9 i did and it was pretty clear in the window to the eye that is
  20. i say the cheapest route is the ones i experimented with , it is 5.9 gets great magnification and looks much more like my genuine one, and i stated before i thought they varied in genuine as well, so kruzer wheres my 5 bucks lmao i love u man, a bet is a bet though, lol
  21. which one is nanug? ROFLMAO sry my polar bear freind , it was a loaded gun lol
  22. well i dont want to say it , but i told u so , lmao thats why i probably came across to u guys as an butthole, but i did it with the 5.9 and it was pretty good to my eye, and then u guys started talking about this and that so i just shut up , some people just have to try it themselves , which im glad u see now what i was saying about it was pretty strong , i sent them a message for cancellation , they probably already sent it , but maybe not i also said the same thing about genuine , i think i personally trust my genuine i own, it looks great and it is genuine , and i agree on that pic he was using i would not charge u much to grind your crystals down for u , the cost would be installation actually, grinding them will not be very costly , but if u want to try to get them made without grinding im all for that as well, so keep me informed , i pop in every now and then to check the progress of this thread , im at the other boards as well , take care joe if someone would email me if u want me to chime in quickly ok
  23. i just ordered one, now i await , also i will have u a price of those sapphires soon ok , i also will have my 2892 datewheel back at the end of the week from screenprinting , my guy just copied my genuine datewheel so it will be exact basically, im also using a fade resistant vinyl cover to see if it will be a good thing for the do it yourselfers , i have started on the new exact crowns , waiting on a knurling tool to cut the teeth in correctly on the crown , have a great weekend joe also just a note the reason i wanted the datewheel done so quickly is now so i can try with new cyclops to see what it will exactly look like , i found it really hard to do a accurate comparison with the bad datefont on my watches
  24. u have to remember jeff i am a long time member as well and im no dummy , u should know that by now, that is why i refreshed his memory and called him on his lie , thanks for your care though
