  1. There was a spot of dirt on the dial of my PO and i took it to a watchsmith to remove it. When I got the watch back it looked like there was specks of dust on the inside of the crystal. I asked him and he said it wasnt dust but little micro scratches on the crystal. Now I never noticed them before i took it into him but I cant proove he did it. Did anyone ever come accross this before? You can only see them in daylight when looking at the watch at an angle.Looks very much like dust. Strange.
  2. Pic is self explanatory. Is this easy fix? Getting sick of all the probs Im having with this watch but I really love it.
  3. Nobody delivers faster than Andrew as far as I know. I know your probably dying to get the watch but if you get into a tizzy it can get very stressful. Relax and it will come soon.
  4. Just a quick possibly stupid question... I want to get an ETA 2824 serviced. I live in Ireland and kno nobody in particular that provides the service, so can I just take it into any jeweler and ask them to do it? Am I correct in assuming every jeweler knows how to service an ETA movement. I am afraid they'll make a perfectly working movement bad! Thanks
  5. Sorry for your loss.
  6. Dropped my PO from trusty into a big mug of tea last night after a few pints the black stuff! Happy to report it was perfect and showed no sign whatsoever of the ordeal the next day. Just a quick plug for Andrew too, he really really really looked after me and had great time and patience after I had a few small niggly problems with the watch. Top quality dealer and worth every penny of the small premium he charges on some products.
  7. Ordered from Neil on October 26th and got tracking this monday. Hopefully Ill get my noobmariner next week. I was actually more impatient when I ordered my PO from Andrew because I knew it could be here in a matter of days! With TTK I just ordered and kind of forgot about it cos I knew it could take a few weeks. Now since it is on the way Im bak to waiting for the postman now again! The tracking hasnt been updated either so thats no help! But in fairness when you order from TTK you know that you will get a great watch but everyone here knows you have to wait. If you cant deal with it just go to another dealer. Its all part of the fun for me anyway!
  8. Hi there, Just a quick question regarding the Asian 7750 in a navimeter. Do the 3 extra gears in the 3-6-9 arrangement make it less reliable? Thanks for your time
  9. I'm going to get a Navimeter and as its only my 3rd rep Im wondering if the 3 extra gears used to modify the 7750 to a 3,6,9 arrangement make it more unreliable? Im a bit apprehensive about the 7750 but i cant resist this beauty! Thanks GF
  10. Anyone have a bezel insert (or just a bezel pearl) for the orange PO 4th gen? The bezel pearl fell out and its killing me I cant wear the watch now. Thanks a lot GF
  11. Hi Ok took off the case back and had a quick look. When the dial is facing up and i wind in the clockwise direction there is a small bit of movement from the rotor, it kind of sways very slightly from side to side. it is most pronounced on the first turn. Not much movement like just a small kind of jitter... Thanks for the input really appreciate it.
  12. When I loosen the screw crown on my PO if I try to turn the crown clockwise to wind I get a lot of resistance so I'm afraid to turn it....Is this normal? I can turn it anticlockwise no problem and it is nice and free and "clicks" after every turn. Thanks
  13. I think its pretty fair to say so that Andrew sending out a new dial and bezel and bracelet at his expense is a pretty reasonable resolution?
  14. Ya well hopefully it will be sorted now soon! Might as well mention the dealer is Andrew. He is being very helpfull by offering to send out the replacement parts and I believe the bezel dial and bracelet are on the way! I would obviously have preferred a replacement watch to avoid the hassle of trying to find a watchsmith that will work on it, but the watch will be spot on after i get the parts, (I hope!). I can understand to an extent why he wouldnt send out a new watch as the flaws can only be seen when you examine the dial and bezel closely. It would still be nice not to have to go to this hassle all the same. Thanks
  15. Ya it is a tough one isn't it... I suppose him sending out a new bezel, dial and bracelet is fair enough isn't it really. As long as they dont cost too much to get fitted I'll be happy. Have ordered the noobmariner as my second rep and will get a navimeter soon! I absoloutely love the watch so I would like to get it as free of defects as possible!
  16. To be honest I'm not happy. The pearl is nothing like the photo and the hour marker is just plain annoying me. As I said in another thread, its not a question of accuracy its a question of defects that shouldnt be there. In my opinion the watch should be replaced but since the bezel is already sent out he wont. I posted pics already in a post titlet "am I being too fussy". The dealer is possibly the most respected dealer on here...definitely in the top 3 or 4 anyway. Now I'm not saying he's being unhelpful. He is answering all my emails etc. I just think its kind of unfair I have to take it to a watchsmith to pratically replace the whole watch! And I did loads and loads of homework! And paid $250 for the watch instead of $130 I could have paid from paul/silix to avoid these types of problems! Talk about beginners unluck! Thanks
  17. Ya I think thats what I'll do... Wait for the parts to come and get them fitted myself.
  18. They are cosmetic problems mainly...The bezel pearl is awful, the 9 o clock hour marker is flawed and the bracelet was scratched and keeps opening.
  19. I had a look at the tutorial on taking apart a rolex, I reckon the bezel should be grand as it seems to be just pull off and snap on a new one. No way in the world would I be comfortable doing the dial replacement tho. Would this be expensive to have done at a jewelers? I would be a bit apprehensive asking them to work on a rep but I guess I have no choice at this stage. A bit of QC inspection of the watches would be great!!
  20. I wish he would....but he has sent the bezel and is trying to source a dial and he wont replace the watch... I wonder should I just ask again to replace it? Whats the usual practice? Would I send back the faulty watch and he sends out a new one? Thanks
  21. Turns out I need a new bezel, dial and bracelet for my orange PO purchased from a respected dealer. Will I be able to fit them myself or will I have to take it to a jeweler? Lots of hassle for my first purchase....
  22. A new bezel is on the way so Ill try scraping the old one then before I go replacing the whole bezel. The hour marker I think I'm going to have to live with. Dealer doesn't really seem to have a solution! Pity cos as ye know its kind of irritating me! Thanks. Update: The dealer said he would try and source me a new dial, he needs time to get onto the maker. So I have a new bezel, dial and bracelet coming for my first purchase! How in the name of god will I fit all those now! Kinda unlucky for a first purchase really. Noobmariner (hopefully) on the way from TTK soon so I hope I will have better look with that!
  23. Ya I know its a rep so I dont expect perfection. Didnt really expect flaws (as in defects) either tho. I emailed the dealer the photo of the hour marker anyway to see what can be done if anything. Thanks
  24. OK here are the pics a bit better. Ye might be able to see what im talking about now and tell me Im being way too fussy altogether! You can clearly see the peral is awful. The flaw on the 9 hour marker is small its like a bit of the lume was dragged out onto the marker. Its annoying all the same! As for asking for a replacement...I emailed him and his solution was to send a new bezel. When I said about the hour marker he said basically there was nothing he could do. Pearl.bmp 9_marker.bmp
  25. The dealer is sending out a new bezel. What Id love is to send back the watch and get a one with no defects! But thats not going to happen!
