  1. You possibly got a PO with the high beat 21J. No worries, we learn!
  2. Well I've had the H-Fac and now have the V3. The cases are identical and perfect. No cracks, durable and lovely!
  3. Awesome. Just be careful the screw at 8 on the bezel isn't loose... maybe the caseback screw needs tightening.
  4. This is from Angus! He calls it the V4... but not from noob.
  5. You could ask the dealer to send you a replacement second hand. I've basically resigned myself to the fact that I will never get a rep without some sort of blemish. etc. If you ask the dealers they tell you "no no QC is fine, really nice watch" and then it arrives and has the flaw.
  6. Good version of 3777 not released yet. All Truster dealers will have access to the same 3717.
  7. Are you still not taking work on Rolexman? I still have a PO that needs a He Valve fitting!
  8. Josh is one of the best. Equivalent from buying from Amazon in the non rep world!
  9. I don't think it's great advice really, It's good advice when noobs ask stupid questions, or freak out about Trusted dealers not replying in a few hours to them... but Ressmeplz is a good guy, he's very active on other forums for a while now. His thread was just throwing around a few ideas he had in his head, like many other threads. That's half the fun of this hobby! I disagree. It was asking for opinions about his collection. This forum is fairly quiet as it is, I can't see any problem with threads like this asking for opinions. It's a reasonable point, when you get a rep that is almost perfect, do you draw the line... It wasn't an attempt at selling without VIP, I'm sure of that! I gave my opinion already, the sensible thing is to sell... but the ROOs are awesome watches too. Really impressive.
  10. Here are my thoughts on the IWC Vintage Ingenieur Laureus Sport for Good Limited Edition after living with it for a few months. The genuine article: The fifth in the Laureus limited edition series, The Ingenieur Automatic Edition Laureus Sport For Good Foundation in a stainless steel automatic wristwatch with a dial in an unmistakable shade of blue and limited to 1000 pieces. The gen is powered by the IWC-manufactured 80111 calibre with the Pellaton winding system and an integrated shock absorption system. The Rep: This was first released on the 8th of December 2012 by the famous Noob factory. It features a sunburst blue dial like the original, along with a domed sapphire crystal and came in a choice of Asian ETA or Swiss Sellita SW2000 movements. I went for the Asian ETA, which is I believe the well regarded seagul ST-2130 with pearlage decoration. This has performed well and is averaging +5s per day. The power reserve however appears shorter than 40hours but I have not checked it formally. The overall build quality and feel of the rep is absolutely superb. The dial is beautiful, the crown and tube are solid with the threads on the inside as per the original, the caseback is almost flawless. There are possibly a few areas for improvement, and these are very small. 1) The lume is poor, but this is apparently the case on the gen too. 2) The date-wheel is not 100% central on all dates. Some are better than others. 3) The crystal is not very domed. I am unsure if the gen is more so. 4) The rep strap is only adequate, but not terrible. I think this watch is flying under the radar somewhat. It is incredibly high quality and accurate. For a first version they really nailed it. Looking at some gen pics, there may be slightly more volume to the lume dots, but it's minor... It looks like they pretty much nailed a difficult dial. Gen Pic: The lume dots look slightly thicker The crystal does look a bit more domed here Here are some more pics...it now sits on a watchboys gen gator strap. Thanks for looking! I would highly recommend this watch.
