  1. This coating + a gen movement looks to actually better the TAG offering and save $1000... "is it genuine?" "Nah..it's better than that!"
  2. Another provocative and inspirational post By-Tor well done. I'm patiently waiting for my GST from PT....Though I'm a bit concerned about the bracelet size now...I need about 8"
  3. Thanks for the re-assurance guys - and the link to your comparison By-Tor - it's always enlightening to read your reviews and is much appreciated - thanks. I'm sure I've seen a post detailing something that 'quietens' down bracelets. I think it looked like a wax that is rubbed in between the links but I'm having trouble finding it.
  4. This isn't as ugly...it IS still damn ugly..but I find it curiously attractive to.... http://www.clockworkcouture.com/?q=node/116
  5. How does the rep bracelet compare with the gen? I got my watch from PT yesterday but my enthusiasm was a bit tempered by the feel of the bracelet…very light and rattly compared to my smooth weighted Link rep bracelet . I re-read By-Tors’review (cannot find Docs and the link doesn’t work.) I’m assuming the bracelet isn’t ‘off’ as By Tor would have mentioned it…but how come it feels so light and clattery? I also expected the polished centre links to stand out against the outer brushed links more - as the gen below (accepting this is a catalogue pic) – but the difference is minimal. Of course my camera makes a liar out of me as the links are clearly contrasted but it doesn’t look like that on my wrist….maybe I need an eye test! Any views or experience?
  6. Looks like one of Jeff Goldblums early attempts in 'The Fly'. Surely a case of design by committee!
  7. Apologies for the poor pic but this is straight out of the package onto my wrist. Inspired by By-Tor's great review Aquired through Precious Times' excellent service Delivered by Royal Mail (thanks for going back to work today guys just to deliver my new TAG)
  8. I appreciate the offer, but I bit the bullet a few days ago and ordered a box of braclet pins off of Ebay..this must have annoyed Sod because I found the original pin today! It's not coming out again...Loctite 648 will see to that.
  9. I think the carbon would (will!) go well on an AP Ruben Barrichello or an IWC Ingeniuer - has that motor racing carbon and machined metal feel about it...
  10. Arrrghhh...it was bad enough being seduced by too many watches to choose from...now I have to contend with straps as well! The problems now exponential! Love the carbon strap...must have one LOVE the Shrapnel...now I HAVE to buy a Ti Chrono Avenger to go with it (From the movie Blood Diamond)
  11. Yep Buffalo with machine stitching - but hand stitching is an option
  12. Watchnetwork strap http://www.watchnetwork.com/watchstraps/index.html I notice that the site says "can only ship custom straps to North American countries". No idea why that is as they happily shipped to me in the UK. The strap is much in need of replacement...that's why your thread caught my eye. I have had about a year of very regular use out of it.
  13. I bought my last deployment replacement for my Chrono Avenger from WatchNetwork. Not cheap but you can customise everything including profile shape and depth. http://www.watchnetwork.com/watchstraps/index.html
  14. Should be Centrifugal surely?...DOH Pity..it's quite pretty..small but pretty..but once you know there's 2 whole letters missing!
  15. The damn pin has gone walk-about from my Link bracelet. Anybody know of a source of spares (gen TAG maybe)or anyone has a spare pin or a bracelet they replaced and are willing to sell? Cheers
  16. I bought my TAG Link from PT after reading By-Tors excellent review and enough praise has been lavished on the rep for me not to have to contribute here. However I will say that I have adjusted the time just TWICE in 3 weeks of ownership and I even had to rely on the chrono when my wife went into labour so I could time the contractions. The only thing that let me down was the clasp screw fell out within a day and it's proving a sod to replace. So far (fingers crossed) my 7750 has been outstanding, in fact I just commited to another after I saw Josh's excellent new SS Chrono Avenger
