  1. Happy Birthday BNWMan!

  2. Sorry guys, I've been really busy lately. Yes, the watch was there as expected. Krpstr is correct about the batons, being V1, and I'm not sure about how to tell the difference between V1 and V2 (they aren't perfect, that for sure). But the dial definitely is NOT sunburst pattern, although I expected the surface to be a little more matte (it's very glossy and mirror-like). The rest of his analysis is probably correct; clearly this is not a pure V2. I promise I will get to photos tonight. The mesh bracelet ends appear to be either welded on or epoxied somehow, as even a torch resulted in only smoke, without loosening anything. I will take another stab at it this weekend, but it appears that they just plain can not be dissassembled.
  3. Krpster, what makes you think that the dial is V1? I don't see any evidence in this photo, or the ones posted at King Watch (http://www.kingshowbox.com/goods.php?id=4410) for this item that there is a radial pattern embossed in this dial. Also, the photo of mine seems to show a difference between the V1 bezel coining on the one in your review and this one, however the photos on the website seem to show a definite V2 pattern. And again, the batons on the photo of mine look more like your V1, but the photos on the website look more like your V2 to me. The lume dots do look more like the V1 in your review than the V2. In any case, the USPS website says that it was delivered to my house about an hour ago, so I guess we''ll see what I actually have in a few hours when I get home tonight.
  4. Yeah, I asked about the bracelet, and it's not adjustable (except micro at the clasp), as has been said before. She threw in a leather strap too, because of that. And, I intend to have a try at adjusting it (or the one I have, which is probably the same design). When I do, I'll post a thread in this section describing the process and resutls. By the way, you're right about it being for a gorilla, my wrist is 7 5/8 and it's HUGE on me...
  5. This is supposed to be a photo of the actual watch being sent to me by Colleen at King Watches. They have been very helpful thus far, but we'll see when it get here. Obviously, they still have them in stock (but no white dial, I asked...)
  6. Despite my handle, this was really hard... but in the end I stuck with the Navi category. Like others, I'm questioning the lumping together... which Navi? standard, World, Montbrilliant, TT? Makes a difference. Cougaree, watch out, I'm coming up fast...
  7. No one has a source for a new dial, then? I neglected to mention that it's a white dial, which makes it even more difficult...
  8. So Scruffy, did you ever get yours? Anyone have a dealer that might have a dial in stock? (Mine self-destructed; three batons are crooked to begin with and the minute hand apparently got hung up on yet another one and pealed it right off, while disconnecting itself in the process... )
  9. This guy just won't give up... Still an Eyesore
  10. No offense taken; I meant my comment to be a poke at my own lamentable lack of sartorial sense. I guess I'm just plane lazy when it comes to clothes, which probably follows from being too broke to afford wardrobe items to match the timepieces anyway. And believe me, the most difficult aspect of wearing reps for me has been the philosophical conflict of presenting what appears to be a $6000 timepiece on a $29.95 guy otherwise to the world. Which makes me simultaneously proud and sheepish about the watches in the presence of the aforementioned females, whose fashion radar I'm all to aware of. Thanks; I just wish the quality on these Navis (especially the World) were up to the most recent rep standards. I'd never risk trying to pass of one of these Navis as gen in front of a true expert in the field, but the PO and 3717 I have both would give me no qualms to wear in an AD establishment, provided I could muster the clothing to sell the illusion also...
  11. Keep yer fricken' pebbles away from my Navis... :angry2: I think I'm gonna put an offer in of $0.39, and see what he says...
  12. Back again... I've been lusting after the Navitimer World for about 10 years. I have loved Breitlings in general for many years, but I despaired of ever being able to afford one. Recently I became aware of reps, but I was wary of sending a couple hundred off to some unknown address in China (rightly so, it seems). So it wasn't until I descovered the rep hobby and associated forums that I found dealers that I could trust. And as you can see by my sig, it's been a busy April and May (two more on the way, by the way)... So the last two of my Navi acquisitions have been the Serie Speciale and the Montbrillant Datora. The Serie Speciale was on my list because of the fighters back, and when one came upi on one of the forums I jumped on it (silly me, I neglected to take any photos of watch backs. I will remedy that shortly). I would really rather have a white dial/black subdial version, anyone want to trade? Finally, my new friend in Norway sold me what's been my second favorite Navi, the Montbrillant Datora. I just love the busy complexity of it's dial; kinda almost wish it was a 46 or even 48mm face, the better to show off all it's detail... As I told subbies earlier in another thread, I guess I have no taste, since I would wear any of these on any band under (well almost) any dress conditions. Maybe I'll become more refined as I learn to wear a fine watch more properly...
  13. Subbies, I see that you found your own thread to discuss the questions in, before I got around to it. I am brand spanking new to this game, as I only joined rep forums in late March and bought my first rep in April (and you thought your wallet was light! ). So I don't have much of a reportoir of photos to post yet; you'll just have to make do with some basic wrist shots. I started right at the top, purchasing a Navi World from PureTime... I have a 7 3/4" wrist, so it's not exactly small, but you can see the Nave World fits me just fine. Not what I'd call a weekend watch, though. What I have been wearing a lot on the weekends is this: ..so you can see, I arrived at much the same conclusion as most of the rest of you, a tricompax on leather (mine happens to be calf). I'm being called right now, more later...
  14. I thought Breitling went out of there way to see that there is no grey market for there parts. In any case, it looks like those guys are selling mostly "New Old Stock" items, maybe someone that went out of business?
  15. Interesting that there's an outfit in Germany selling 'Ling dials on the bay. Surprised they don't get a visit from Interpol. So does anyone ever find gen SOH dials out there someplace?
