Gilt 5513 today
-
Great to have you here as a collector BK and we await your offerings!
-
You learn something new everyday, thanks for the great post V.

Sweeeet Jojo!!!
A Bond sub will be my last diving watch project I swear.....
-
OK, there must be a story
Thanks D. More about the Milsub this weekend!
Stephane, it never ends
-
This will be on my wrist for the next few days
-
I can add this one to the mix now, my grail 5517
-
SD, the 1680 dial is larger by ~1mm (27+mm) it will have to be trimmed or the case groove widened to fit. The MBW case fits a 26mm dial -5512/3 are fine.
-
Pointed came before the standard CG and are more rare (I couldn't tell you dates of when it changed), but both styles are correct for the model.
Here are some ref pix of Pointed CG's.

A PAM weekend: 201A again today, the big brother 6152 tomorrow and 187 on Sunday.
-
Jewelerstools on ebay was selling a used 7020 crown and tube for ~$290 just a few weeks ago, still nuts but better than $500. I'll bet he has more.
It can't be that hard to have some machined -I'd think. Anyone know a good machine shop that would take this on?
-
Vlydog, ping the seller and see.
I am going off of my own 93150 and other vintage around but mine is also a good 10+ years old. Perhaps the links on the end have changed in shape with newer stock???
-
Thank you tmg,
So to understand: the gen bracelet is the bottom picture in both examples; right?
Correct Vly.
-
End loops that the springbars go through appear to be rep. I have serious doubts about the authenticity of this item
Saw that too, have to agree -very suspicious!
Gen 93150 is a round loop, not flat on the top with the groove (gen on the bottom).
I think the recent MBK white 1665 bracelets are better example and it fits gen springbars out of the box.
-
I will have it redone at some point and probably have an old thin triplock crown I found installed at the same time.
Keeps us posted on the results after you add some more coats of varnish.
-
Ah, this is the other dial from ebay you posted about before.
I had the same thing on my dial after it was relumed, some halo spots around some of the indices that seem shiny, mine does not have clear coat on it though -at least I don't think it does. I haven't done anything with it since I'm in the same boat as Freddy; do I have the 6&9 widened and then some varnish over it to see if it will mask the spots.
I would think 1-2 more coats wouldn't hurt to find out if Avitt is right.
-
Updated with the other half of the family.
-
I can see the difference but don't know what you are asking. Could you be more specific?
They look a hair thin Freddy, is that the NDT dial? The cherry red looks great!
Mine is the same -I just live with it. One of these days I'll have it addressed.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Scoobs!
-
I lined these up today for a quick family shot, I'm feeling like the 201A today since it just camed back with a new and improved dial.
-
Nice find Dudro!
Boy it sure looks like the same case/bezel as some of the ones being sold on ebay as gens.
MkII watches Stingray is priced a bit better but obviously not such a direct copy of the dial.
-
Beautiful Vlydog, now put that sucker on your wrist and go enjoy it!
-
You keep telling yourself that buddy
-
Nah: the unfinished 1680 project for today
Beautifull indeed, very special, ...sounds like a plan ...next project, next project...when will it end
One of these days I'll catch up to you in subs Stephane
I guess its like gambling but we also have something to show for it. Just one more......
