  1. I hold you personally responsible for my fixation on this watch. I'm going to have to buy one now. My wife will be calling you to complain.
  2. Full set for a 63. P.S. Some of these signatures are going to get me in a lot of trouble with my office IT team.
  3. I think the question says it all. I want to install the upgraded sapphire with better cyclops on my 63 (that I did not get from Davidsen). Will it fit? Thanks, Z.
  4. Are the hands perfectly straight, or do they curve slightly upward toward the crystal?
  5. I've heard it's got a spelling error. I'm just curious as to what the movement looks like. Mine is keeping GREAT time! Thanks in advance.
  6. So I have been without a personal computer for TWO months. Two. Credit Gateway computers for their crack customer service and prompt delivery. NOT. These guys are terrible, absolutely terrible. Anyway, I posted a watch for trade without pictures, because I could not download them from my camera to my computer. Sure, I have a work computer, but they don't allow that stuff. I have so many pics to post of watches that I've bought, watches that I've sold, etc. So today I get this: It'll be a picture bonanza, fellas. IF, and I do mean IF, they fixed the damn thing. Guess we'll see when I get home.
  7. Well it looks great. I really can't decide. I think I want to get this watch, but I believe that these watches can be made to last for a long time. I'm not sure whether the investment in the swiss movement is worth it. I would still have to send it off to someone to be relumed, so you have to factor that cost in. While it's there, someone could probably make the Asian movement work well. Decisions, decisions....
  8. Hey, Rolli. Does your 253 have the swiss 7753 movement? I'd like to hear your impressions of it if so. I'm thinking about buying one, but $700 is way steep sight unseen. Thanks in advance. Z.
  9. You sure are getting a lot of those crowns! I haven't seen mine yet, but I'm sure it's on its way. I can't wait for the results. These crowns really make the watch.
  10. Thanks for posting. I know where I'm getting my next 183 straps!
  11. We ask a lot of these watches don't we, Rob? I mean, we want perfectly functioning 2836 GMT movements, dead-on accurate Asian chronographs. Sometimes it's possible, sometimes it's not. Thanks for the review. When I see something like this, it makes me feel confident that my watch is in good hands.
  12. Thanks for taking the time to update. It's interesting that these wheels are so in demand. The 2893 movement is pretty hard to come by these days. I guess a lot of people snapped them up when they were readily available. I know that given the watches in which these movements are used, the datewheel is one big missing piece for us.
  13. Hm. Some of those pictures make the font look quite bold. It's a great looking watch for sure.
  14. Do you have the date modification as well?
  15. Hey, Joe. I asked this exact same question earlier. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...636&hl=2893 Basic response was that it's probably not worth it, but I don't think anyone said whether or not it COULD be done. I was really fortunate that about 15 minutes after I posted this topic, a 63 with the 2893 came up on the sales thread and I bought it. I works much better, I can assure you. If you CAN switch them, DO. There is no substitute for the 2893. Hope this helps. Z.
  16. What a great watch. I can't wait for you to start selling some of your pieces.
  17. Never a doubt, Palp. You're the man!
  18. Great news! I got the bar out. I had to cut the strap off, which was no big deal since it was a cheap-o that came with the watch. I tried the screwbar from the other lug and it worked perfectly, which means that it was a screwbar problem, not a thread problem. That means all I have to do is buy some new screwbars! Man, I am so relieved. There's some pretty bad scratches now on the lug, but those can be buffed. A good result! Thanks to all who responded! Zach
  19. That is something that I (or one of our esteemed watchmakers) can fix. What scares me is that the watch is ruined. If you're telling me that it's a pain in the ass, sure, but not ruined, then I'm fine with it.
  20. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove a stuck screw bar? It's in there good, may have cross threaded it, and I SURE hope it ain't skunked.
