  1. This is all very, very interesting. I think the Chinese New Year is going to see a lot of great introductions. Get your wallets ready.
  2. What was the film around the regulator arm you were talking about? Just gunk? In the last pic it looks like there are some marks around that area. Is that where you had to scrape it?
  3. Don't you go getting any ideas!
  4. This pretty much looks like the perfect Fiddy. Great pickup. Any quality problems, or are you happy with it?
  5. No worries, I know you're doing all you can do. Thanks for keeping us updated.
  6. Thanks for the update. I've sent the watch to the Zigmeister. I'll just tell him to hold on to it.
  7. Well I never wind it when I'm wearing it. Those smudges were caused by trying to position it for the picture. The reason I started wearing the watch on my right hand was because of the callus that was being caused on my left wrist by the crown guard. Obviously, these are large watches, and even though I've got a 7 and 1/2 inch wrist, it still wears pretty large. My wrist is bigger from top to bottom than it is across. But it's just a comfort thing, really.
  8. Sorry about the smudges, fingerprints, and generally all-around bad pics, but here's the beauty.
  9. Not Tritium, it's a C series, so it's designated L SWISS L on the dial. Probably the least collectible of them, as Panerai made 4000 Luminor Marinas that year. But it's awesome. Fit and finish are superb. And it's nice knowing you own the real thing, I suppose. I still have the rep 63 that's being upgraded by The Zigmeister, and that's a wonderful watch in its own right, but I love this watch. Comparing it to some of the reps I've owned, I have to say, some of our reps are OUT OF THIS WORLD in terms of accuracy and quality. I think the sandwich dials are probably most easily repped, because the painted gen dial just hasn't been replicated to the same degree as far as I've seen. Pictures shortly. I'll start a new thread.
  10. Great point. I think it's overwhelmingly in the corner of LEAVE IT. So it will be left. I'm just sitting here rocking the gen 001!
  11. Wan is right. I was talking about the back crystal. The front of the watch is beautiful.
  12. Does anyone know if a rep crystal will fit the gen watch? Thanks. EDIT -- sorry if this should have been in the upgrade section. Maybe it would get more views there.
  13. Man, somehow I lost track of this thread for several weeks. It's good to see that the project is moving forward nicely. Hypothetically speaking, if a friend had an appointment with a certain Canadian watchmaster in early to mid-February, let's call him Twiggy, do you think I-- er-- my friend, might have the cyclops in time?
  14. Are these being printed this week? Got a watch going to the Zigmaster, and just trying to get an idea of timing. Thanks.
  15. Brilliant tactic, Mark. I hope it works. I appreciate your effort, and I look forward to the receipt of my date wheel.
  16. I was just coming in to give this a bump, but it looks like it may be picking back up. Thanks for the hard work.
  17. This worked perfectly. Thank you.
  18. Forget the rat! Great watch. Is that a Finepics masterpiece?
  19. SWEET MOTHER! That is the coolest thing ever. Thanks for the pictures.
  20. I really, really think we ought to take those pictures down. Folks over at TZ don't take kindly to their pictures being posted without their permission. They were all over the guy at paneraiblog.
  21. It's possible just to find the crosses? Great watches, by the way.
