  1. Wearing this While rebuilding this (To do - polish bracelet & replace crystal)
  2. Congrads to us all. But I have to wonder how many of those logins are/were attorneys & how many of those attorneys are admiring our work (on behalf of the gens)?
  3. Sort of vintage. Early-80s New York Audio Laboratories' Futterman OTL mono amp (1 of a pair - which I modified, of course).
  4. And all of my watches fell off a Rolex truck.
  5. cib0rgman - head to ebay. That is where I have gotten all of mine, including this NOS brushed silver
  6. Known site & usually pricier (for the same parts) than classicwatchparts.
  7. Congratulations on the DW, but, unless your watch guy has constructed a DW before, be prepared to hear discouraging words from him. The appearance of the parts can be deceiving as you are more likely than not to run into at least 1 part that will not fit without modifications (sometimes severe modifications). Good luck.
  8. Thanks all. I had planned to do a mini-picture-tutorial showing some of the reassembly highlights, but, unfortunately, my camera's batteries died right after I installed the train bridge. But here is a picture of the partially assembled calibre And a glam shot
  9. Nice watch, but it looks like the same IHS (Incorrect Hand Stack) GMTIIC rep that is available from some of our collectors for $100+ less.
  10. I ended up wearing the 6534 again on a Black Friday
  11. A nice rep/watch to be sure, but I think it lacks that spark or special something the white dial has.
  12. Still Thursday night where I am & I am still wearing this But I will probably end the work week with my usual beater
  13. Thanks. No, the Brevet is for my 6536 Sub project, which is complete save for the exception case I ordered (over 2 months ago) from the always slow-as-molasses Silix boys). The bracelet is a riveted 7205/57, which was shortened (by a previous owner) without any apparent regard to maintaining the bracelet's intended taper.
  14. Thanks all. This watch, while a classic, is just a carrying case for its 1035 movement, which will ultimately end up in my other 6542 project (when I locate the last part I need to complete the gmt conversion). The watch has been sitting (in pieces) on my bench ever since I rebuilt the movement, but I finally decided that I might as well put it together & get some use out of it as it may be some time before I locate the missing part.
  15. Just completed restoration of this 1956 6534 OPD, which is what I am wearing now
  16. Just completed (gen) Q3/1956 6534 Oyster Perpetual Date
  17. Excellent tips. If I had a lathe, I would have recommended that as well.
  18. PM sent.
  19. Tudor Thursday
  20. I wear what I like. The preponderance of Rolex watches here is due to the preponderance of Rolex watches everywhere. Rolex outsells every other luxury watch brand by wide margins & has done so for decades. In addition, Rolex is 1 of the most recognized icons on the planet. Even people living in rainforests, having little contact with the modern world, often know the name & what it stands for. That said, I have to wonder why you would even have to ask such a question?
  21. If only I owned a Doxa with a clutched crown........
  22. He sells MBW/MBK Rolex reps, which are famous for being able to accept many genuine Rolex parts (crystal, crown, tube, etc) with little or no modification. While they are by no means perfect out of the box (all reps contain inaccuracies), they can be modified to come very close to looking like the real thing. There are scores of threads that discuss MBW watches & the modifications members have devised for them that you can find via the Search.
  23. They are called by various names, so it may be difficult locating them from the regular suppliers. They pop up every once in awhile on ebay & at watch shows/marts.
  24. I have not purchased this particular crystal, but I am definitely a fan of Clark's crystals.
  25. You are very welcome. Hopefully, you will be able to salvage some of these valuable parts & put them back into service.
