Thank you Chief, that was very nice.

A female Chuck Norris! There ya go. I heard that Superman wears Sarah Palin jammies when he goes to bed. And the boogeyman checks under his bed for Sarah Palin before he goes to sleep at night.
-
Oh, she would never do that. She'd make you kick YOURSELF in the nuts.
-
Dang that made me proud of her. She's got heart.
-
Oh, pardon me ... Todd won it FOUR times. And it's 1,049 miles EACH WAY. The man has BIG brass ones.
-
*GRIN* She's really something, eh? And that wasn't political posturing... That's how she really IS. Even when the cameras are off. Heck, that's how most of us are. Did you catch the part about Todd being a world champion snowmachine racer? Even that was an understatement. He won the Iron Dog ... 1049 miles cross country to Nome with wind chills approaching -200F. Yes, two HUNDRED below. At 100mph. Cross country. In the dark with moose on the "trail." They're both cut from good cloth.

You might find this one interesting... Post #46 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry159029

Simple then... It is a long thin line that looks like the numeral 9 "three" squared

Cut out a paper triangle. Curl its bottom two corners forward, toward you, until they touch. Looking down on it, you have formed a cylinder. Now curl the top corner down and forward, toward you, until it touches the junction of the first two corners. Viewed in silhouette this is a square, when the shape of its initial triangle is adjusted correctly. Having curls instead of folds, you have not introduced any new "corners."

How about this similarity?

We can all agree.... PALIN FOR PRESIDENT! (NOW I'll lock the thread...........)

Wow you guys are great photographers. Here's a shot I took... Enjoy!

And the fun thing is, they named him that way on purpose! Look it up at ADN.com The kids are all named after favorite Alaskan places: Bristol, Paxon, Willow, Track (because's a runner) and Piper because that's a favorite bushplane here... unbreakable and unstoppable. Bristol is where the family fishes, Paxon is for Iron Dog and Arctic Man, Willow is a great place for family activities up the road from Wasilla. Trig is Norsk for True.

@Southcoast... if she's elected then my buddy Sean (Parnell) takes over. He's a heck of a fine man. You're right, we will miss her a LOT. The guy before her was a megalomaniac and we threw him out, decisively. She's able to get people involved and energized, and she knows when to take the gloves off. Better watch the MILF comments, Todd is even tougher! Have you ever heard of the Iron Dog race?

You have to look at what she's improved here in 2 years, not the mess from the prior 50 years. The answer for most of the education and federal expense issues is that our state is more than 2x as big as Texas with villages everywhere and NO roads. We are required by federal regulation to build schools in the bush that are comparable to the ones in the city... At a cost of millions each. Many of the schools later close when the student population drops below a dozen. All the materials, lunches, books, computers, satellite Internet stuff, fuel ... Everything has to be flown out there. Every day. Our education budget is IMMENSE and it's inadequate. And the villages cannot tax themselves to pay for it... So Anchorage pays it all, with some federal help. Native/white issues prevent accredited teachers staying in the villages more than a year or two, and still it's improving. And we are one of few "owner" states where we mutually own our resources so the dividends come from severance royalties we charge the oil industry, well invested. Education has dramatically improved in the last 2 years, housing is still strong, unemployment is typical/seasonal and we're seeing blue skies in the forseeable future. That's where her 80% approval rating comes from. We really aren't hicks and morons here, we know a good leader when we see one. My advice is to elect her, then try to stay out of her way.

Lord have mercy... NEVER say that if she's holding her rifle!

That's a real Vogue cover they did after her election. "Alaska: where the dogs are beautiful and the women are fast" "Alaska: where men are men and women win the Iditarod" Don't forget, none of your preconceived notions about women apply here. She's tougher than most men I know. About Wooten and the divorce and the firing, yeah it's true and surprised us here too. She put all the facts out there and it looks like her aide acted on his own. Sure it was ugly but at least it didn't turn into a "Spenard divorce". So far it's the only tarnish of any kind on her performance.

What an adventure for a couple kids! I was out at Pt. Milne one winter, way out on the sea ice in a pickup truck. The Papa of all polar bears showed up and I thought it was all very cool and sat there watching from, oh, 5 feet away. I went back to camp with my story and Joe (an ancient Yup'iq gentleman) said "You thought you were safe in your truck? He just wasn't hungry."

For her experience credentials check out how the Alaskan economy is doing during these economic times, especially considering the mess she inherited. For "foreign" policy check out how well she negotiates between the many Alaskan native nations we have here, each with wealth larger than many countries. They have strident and significant demands for subsistence, land rights, social issues, healthcare, energy needs, and they usually DO NOT get along well together. She has managed to address their needs very well. As for foreign business, tarrifs, negotiations, she stood up for Alaska and faced down the oil companies, upholding the Alaskan. constitution to their detriment. She took away the Pt. Thompson leases from Exxon after they violated the terms AGAIN, and is forcing that development toward. Our housing is strong, employment is strong, education is strong, we have almost 30 billion dollars in the bank, and she called the legislature to session AGAIN to make them produce a resource extraction rebate so each eligible Alaskan gets $1,200 for energy this winter. How many special sessions has she called? How often does she bend the legislature to her and the public's will? At least a dozen in 2 years. This woman can stare down the CEOs of BP, Exxon, and TransCanada and make them blink. She shoots better than I do. She also chose to keep Trig when she and Todd found out she was pregnant with a Downs baby. She delivered him healthy and we're sure proud of that. She can be your best friend; you do NOT want her for your enemy. She's an original iron woman and IMNSHO she'd do better than McCain.

A hottie with convictions that's not afraid to speak her mind? Does it GET better than this?!
-
That's "all" that matters? The only things? Are you judging her because her personal beliefs differ from yours? Isn't that sort of ........... intolerant?
-
Roger that, CM. Wait till you see her in camo with a moose. She's the genuine article. And they named their last child Trig Van Palin. How fun is that?!
-
Okay I'm gonna change my opinion a little. Anyone who can go toe-to-toe with the huge oil companies and bend 'em over, then negotiate between the rural and urban demands for subsistance, and balance a family and a new special needs baby, AND the duties of public office... I'm sold. -Nanuq in Sarahdise

While a hottie, she also has a core of steel like Margaret Thatcher. And the First Dude is one tough hombre too, having won the Iron Dog. This will be interesting and I think you'll like what she shows you about "who we are" here in the Last Frontier. GO SARAHCUDA!!!

THIS is a politician I can believe in!!
