@CBR
There are indeed different MBWs. Mine has a HEV that looks like the one in the open-case photo in Stephane's tutorial. It has a separate spring holding the pin in its hole in the case... it came that way.
@T
Interestingly enough, the HEV on my old MBW is fully functional, and watertight. This is one Maria built for me 11 years ago, delivered by the "original" Scotty.
Does anyone have a big domed crystal to fit the Orange Monster? Even a GS is fine as long as it's got a profile less like Cameron Diaz and more like Angelina Jolie. *cough*
Anyone?
Also the font spacing on COSMOGRAPH should be nonproportional, "L" is wrong in ROLEX and the "ON" are spaced wrong on DAYTONA.
And the subdial "3" are......... wrong.
So the way to age a pearl is to smear wood stain over it? I thought you had to dig its guts out and refill it?!
My pearls are new/green and need about 50 years "ageing".
Wood stain? Really? :0
Okay, CBR has the strippers covered, check. TT got the Blue Angels flyby, check. I've got the Goodyear Blimp delivering the cases of scotch, check. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders... check. Playboy bunnies and the trampoline... check.
Now if we can just distract Ken for another few hours so he doesn't notice the preparations...
Happy Birthday from Up Over to Down Under!! One of the nicest guys anyone could know. Good on ye mate!
Pffffffffffft, as long as Lani's gonna go all ethnic on us.... GRATULERER MED DAGEN!!
I dunno... I'm down to 3 reps now and I'm pretty happy with how the rest of the collection is shaping up.
I might be persuaded for a vintage Fifty Fathoms though..............
The Rolex AD here has a service they offer where they send your watch to a place where the sun DOES shine and regulate it to COSC spec if possible, and return it, for $25
TWO people have ever had the back off my 6536 ... Tom Nesbit in Seattle and The Ziggmeister.
Tom listened to mine run and wind, with the back on, and told me it needed a service. He also guessed its QUARTER of manufacture by its serial number (he was right).
As good as Tom is, Ziggy is the only one to actually work on it. Twice.
Hats off to master watchmakers! Getting a 50-years old watch to near-COSC spec? Priceless.
I paid significantly more than that *cough* for both a titanium Sector Diving Team 1000 (super rare) and a Fortis Flieger chrono. Neither have the brand cachet of the Tudor, although all are Swiss.
Even if it was LNIB it would look like that after the first week.
Go for it.
