  1. I remember this from his thread on 'Risti. Funny, this is just as much a rep as anything and all the 'Ristis were congratulating him, etc. Hypocrisy at it's pinnacle.

That "custom made" dial looks like the template for the indices was sketched out by a kindergartener!

I'll pass. Enzo's Angelus powered watches are leagues nicer than this one...

  2. No, synthetic sapphire is "synthetic sapphire". If it is mineral glass, it should say mineral in the description. There is no "real sapphire" or non-synthetic sapphire cyrstal used in watches. B)

It *should* say mineral glass, I agree 100%. However, in the case of most (if not all) rep dealers if it is NOT mineral glass, it will simply be advertised as "sapphire crystal", if it says "synthetic sapphire" in the description, it's mineral glass. I'll bet you dollars to donuts on it...

  3. What model will the end Pan be, or am I missing something ?

I love the dial and would put in a pre ordere on what I see.

    Jeff

It's right in the title, Jeff. A Panerai 201/A is the model. As mentioned above, this dial can also be used for the 202/A.

I don't believe DSN is offering any "pre-ordering" at this point.

  4. Oh, I thought VirginiaWatchFan's was a mineral. Perhaps not? At any rate, mine's being replaced with a plexi. So if anyone wants a back up, I'll have one, provided the jeweler can get it out of the watch in one piece. ;)

  5. No leg-humping from me.

However, buy your 036 from Ruby instead of Joshua. Take the ~$50 you'll save and put it towards a nice strap. Just like "The clothes make the man" (woman, in this case), the straps make the watch.

Enjoy that mini-Fiddy. It's one of my favorite cases. Careful of the mineral crystal, though, the 44mm ones have been known to explode just like the 47mm model.

  6. So.. I am finally starting to put the pieces together for my "perfect" 001B.

I am ordering the watch now with a SS bracelet but of course I want to be able to use straps with it as well so I am ordering some extra buckles...

Here is a question for your guys. How easy is it to change straps and buckles on the watch? Do you think it is a good idea for me to get 2-3 buckles (they aren't cheap) just to have them ready in my straps so that I have less work to change them, or is it easy enough to exchange the buckle every time between straps o that IS hould not worry about it? How do you guys manage this?

Also can someone post a pic of the correct buckle that I need for the 001B. I believe it is the 22mm polished Thumbnail Vendome buckle(according to one of the members that pmed me), but would like to see a pic so that I can show it to my dealer to avoid any confusion. Thanks.

In addition doesnt the size matter depending on the strap that I get? I guess the gen had 22mm but I doubt people would notice if I have a 24mm one?

Anyway what do you strap experts recommend. Im probably going to get 3 of them so I want to make sure I cover my bases with the straps. TIA.

Why not just go with aftermarket buckles? I prefer the Pre-V style "bottle opener" buckles to the "thumbnail" buckles, regardless of the watch.
