  1. I've got a real soft spot for these. Love that clasp!
  2. The hinged rear pieces of the clasp are thinner than the same sections on my gen oyster bracelet. I'm guessing these got bent at some point or were fabricated incorrectly resulting in an incorrect curvature which in turn has altered the effective length which is turn (take a breath) has effected the friction clip that holds the clasp closed. A simple problem but once bent into the correct shape those hinged pieces will never regain their original strength which may result in your beautiful vintage piece dropping from your wrist. Not worth the risk IMO. It's going back and I'll save a few more bucks for a gen
  3. I was stupid enough to buy the version 2 The clasp doesn't close, the spring bars don't fit and the end links are too big Don't waste your money
  4. Are you taking the [censored] or what?

    Hair loss

I thinned out pretty bad in my early 20s. I used to worry about it and tried a bunch of different concoctions and hair cuts. I eventually realised that the only person who really cared about it was me so I settled on a close cropped (not shaved) hair cut and ran with it. As long as your cut doesn't make it look like you're trying to conceal thinning you'll be fine. Women just don't really care about that stuff as much as we think they do. If you're fit and confident you'll get allot further than fat and shitting yourself that she'll see notice your hair in a can spray job

  7. Some stunning dial macros
  8. It's not a criticism. I like the taller style and I'm surprised the DSN is taller than non gen T24
  9. That looks a bit taller than the normal (non gen) T24
  10. Cheers mate I've decided to do a run of these at $400+ fees etc. I'll post details here or in the FS section (whatever is in accordance with site rules) if theirs interest
  11. Nice build mate and as you say, a very very tidy dial!
  12. Thanks very much guys PeteM - I was just saying over at RG that I like to avoid using more expensive parts when possible. I don't mean using mineral glass or anything crap like that, but it's the subtleties that push the price of these up, up and over the top eg This build would sell for about $400 + fees & shipping Now $400 to me is allot of cash but if the vintage is good, it's worth that much to me But say I wanted to take it a step further with these awesome and beautiful mods; NW CG Lug pins Solid plexi Brass Crown & Tube Reshape You've just more than doubled the price of your build Is it worth it? If you're a vintage aficionado than yes, because you're not going to be happy with shortcomings of the $400 piece. For the other 99% of the population?? This is why I like to make reasonably priced vintages Some lume shots of my el cheapo build
  13. Hi Gents A while ago I did a beautiful 3646 build for a guy off WC which was based on one of b-uhrs (HF) excellent reference pics. I loved it so much I really didn't want to let it go! So when I decided I wanted to make myself a budget 6152 my first stop was b-uhrs thread and I found the following MM build. Something about the way the dial and hands worked together really grabbed me. I'm really, really happy with how it came out. I think it looks like a no compromise legit vintage but at a budget price It's actually taken me weeks to get the lume colour perfect for the dial using vitrail and then I mixed a different shade for the hands to keep it balanced. I corroded the hands by using pompes (HF) excellent egg tutorial and then applying some artists charcoal to reproduce the carbon marks in the lume. I liked the dial from the start and I thought the hands looked pretty good. Together they looked nice. In a build they look gob smacking! It's moments like these that make the process worthwhile. Specs: Cartel 6152/1 Case Standard Crown Guard made firm & text removed Nightwatch Tropic 24 Tall Plexiglass Nightwatch Thick Solid Case back Seagull Asian 6497 ST36 with Swan & H3 Custom dial with flush resin fill & lume Custom hands with lume Pics!
  14. Goddamn eric your stuff is the best
  15. They Tourby? Well known for being easy to damage
  16. Cheers man All up I'd say there's probably 4 to 5 hours work in every watch. I had a mate do the dial on this one which saves alot of time
  17. I'm a complete watch ****. I'm totally in love with yet another watch. This is a project I'm working on atm that I'm very excited about. It's actually only a temporary build while I'm waiting for a special movement to arrive and a better plexi Current specs: Exterior - Vintaged 3646 Case (disassembled components individually brushed before reassembling and applying vintage style polish) - Stock plexi - Tall Bezel brushed & vintage polished - Thick solid case back with brushed finish + vintage polish - Soldered Lugs & Crown (Hidden spring bar arrangement for strap changing) - Brevet Crown Internal - Custom Radiomir dial, resin filled & cracked (Dial not by me) - Custom aged hands with vintage lume - A6497 Handwind movement Enjoy the pics I hope you like!!
  18. OMFG I think it's hilarious that the dodgy Mexican thought Nigeria would be a step up It sucks you got stung but it's a reminder to all of us to be vigilant about this Mexican cocksucker and others
  19. Watch yes Strap no Just my opinion man
  20. Congrats That's very nice
  21. PeteM - toward the face theirs the minimal and perfect quantity Below it looks as though he's ramped it ever so slightly rather than just gap filling but you're seriously splitting hairs. This is very nice work
  22. They mostly run A6497 movements which seems to be pretty reliable. Best thing is the knowledge that if it fails in 5 years time you can put in another for less than $50
