  1. You need to see a doctor! Awesome collection and excellent taste you got there! Wear them in good health.
  2. OMG, what beauties... @Pix: it is slightly domed on gen - so I guess it is on rep as well...
  3. Okay, I placed my order. Will make a large review as soon as it gets here... Then we will know more.
  4. Sweeeet! As I said, I LOVE those vintage divers! Look always beautiful, maybe that's why I like the Heritage so much!
  5. It reminds me somehow of the old doxa-bracelets and the 1960/70 divers... Therefore I like it!
  6. "I am jealous. Thats okay. I can process my jealoussy. I don't need another watch. Whoosah."
  7. I collected all data which might be helpful: Pilot watch ref. 3255
  8. Wow. Now I'm in love, too! I have to get an HBB...
  9. Excellent, but expensive taste!  Ever tried to let a few drops of non sparkling mineral water pour into the glass? I never get out the full taste-richness from such high class whiskies. Nice idea, maybe we should settle a
  10. Stunning watch! The dial seems really to pop out with that AR. Looks like a different watch, really - I think it is clear now that the white glare on J's picture came indeed from the dial - not from the coating. I wish I'd drive a Ferrari, then I could wear this watch...
  11. I don't point out flaws on certain collector's watches. Definately not (in fact I bought from almost every dealer on this board). I read your post and disagreed. Still do. Thats all. Relax man, it's not all conspiracy. Maybe I'll review this watch, maybe someone else does. I made my point and you made yours. Can we stick to that? If you still want to accuse me in any way being "political", feel free to pm me. This is not the little white lies thread (where I never participated, btw).
  12. Who cares, as long as it rocks like Bond 21?
  13. Wonderful collection and even better pictures! You have a very good taste. Wear them in good health!
  14. Nothing is taken personally here. Just participating in the discussion. Right?
  15. Haha, I think it looks wayyyyyy cool! Check out this review: http://www.watchreport.com/2008/01/the-sinn-u1000.html
  16. Hey Swatchman, I read a lot good stuff from you recently. It's good to have you here in this community. This review is really good, I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for all your work! Btw, I think 24 out of 30 Points is pretty good. I like your rating. Cheers!
  17. First, it is hard to compare colors from pictures, as we all know they will vary from camera to camera, from lightsource to lightsource (as long as both genuine and replica aren't in the same picture). As for the clasp, as you say yourself, they did not rep the heritage rubberstrap. Nor the metal beanbracelet. A leatherstrap has its usual Breitling clasp. I would buy a genuine strap anyway, as Breitling does not charge too much for rubberstraps. The crown looks pretty spot on to me, but would need to compare it in detail - at least from same angles. What I really don't understand is why you complain the size - one model is 46mm (the one Silix copied), the other is 38mm. Silix writes on his site the measures of this replica were 46mm (diametre) x 55mm (lug to lug) x 12mm (thickness). The gen is 13mm in thickness, but the rest seems good to me?
  18. Good one, a real classic. Lucius Beebe writes about it in his famous "The Stork Club Barbook" from 1946: "The Sidecar was invented to the best of my knowledge by Frank, Steward and senior Barman of the famous Ritz Bar Paris, during the golden ages of the 1920's. In a time when Joe Zelli's, Harry's Bar New York and the gentlemen's bar in the Ritz Cambon-Corner were worlds best-known booze-cathedrals, when every atlantic-liner spit out hundreds of solvent and thirsty Yankees, their pocket full of devalued Francs, Ritz-Barman Frank appeared to be some king of the admired saloon-tender. And he was indeed a pleasurable, generous and sympathetic friend for thousands of americans. Nothing felt cheap or ordinary in the Ritz Bar Paris and no scall were spoiling the gentlemen's jackets. The list of regular guests was including names like Evander Berry Hall, the later king of Spain, the prince of Wales, Phil Plant, William B. Leeds and russian archdukes living in Parisian exile. The gentlemen's bar in summer was the playground for boys from Harvard, Yale and Princeton, with little democratic yeast from Williams or Dartmouth. As far as I can remember, did Frank invent the Sidecar around 1923 as a Stinger variation , but with very highclass ingredients. Frank mixed it for VIP's with Ritz Vintage 1865 Cognac - for five US Dollars per glass." The receipe I know of is very strong, surely not fancy drink: 5cl Cognac (a good one) 3cl Cointreau 2cl Lime juice As far as I know this is some kind of modification of the Long Island Ice Tea, but with Champagne. Take a large tumbler and put lots of icecubes in it. Then pour
  19. Thats a Canadian Whiskey drink, right? Never tried it, please post you favourite recipe.
  20. Hey guys, this topic refers to all who would like to post what drink, alcoholic or not, they enjoy the most, in which occasion and how it is made. Maybe you might have a little anecdote how you got to this drink, or about it's history? Or are you enjoying something special this very moment? I'd like to start with a real classic, the Bloody Mary. Not that it would be my very favourite drink, but it is famous around the globe and the best medicine against a bad hangover (at least in my opinion). Here is an excerpt from a letter sent by Sir Ernest Hemingway to Bernard Peyton from the 5th of April 1947, which I found in one of my many Barbooks: "Dear Bernie, to mix a pitcher Bloody Mary (any other extent is useless), you have to take a really large pitcher and fill it with a single big chunk of ice (we don't want it to melt too early and dilute our product). Mix half-litre of good russian vodka with the same amount of cooled tomato juice. Add one spoon Worcestershire sauce, Lea and Perrins is common, but you may use AI or any other good beefstak sauce. StiRR [with txo RR]. Then pour a shot fresh lemon juice in it. StiRR. Now it still needs a small pinch of celery-salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper. Repeat stirring and tasting. If it is too strong for your taste, feel free to add more tomato juice... I have established this drink 1941 in Hong Kong and believe me, it has precipitated the ruin of this Crown Colony more than any other circumstance, except maybe the japanese army. When desired, you can mix it in a way as if there was no alcohol at all in it. One tumbler gives you the kick of a real nice and large Martini... There is a Vodkabrand located in New Jersey producing in russian tradition which is ok. Unfortunately I forgot the name..." Hemingway goes on recommending "a tasting mexican sauce called Esta si Pican [some sort of mild Tabasco], which goes very well with a Bloody Mary. A few drops are all it needs." Please excuse the poor english, I had to re-translate it from german.
  21. Okay guys, I've had it on my wrist. Let me report, it is really handsome and worth every single penny... Looks so cool even on my skinny wrist! If I had the money I would have signed up for it at once! Believe me, you can feel the quality, way better than any genuine breitling I have held so far. You gotta push down the bezel for example, before it may turn clock counterwise. It gives a very loud and smooth CLICK, no rattling, no moving anywhere else than counterclockwise... It is secured against getting off, no matter how hard you should ever dang it against something. Even with thick gloves absolutely no problem to use. There is more hightech in this watch than in Breitling, Omega or Fortis together. It has 4(!) argon cartridges to prevent any moisturing, 1 on the dial and 3 around and under the movement. The movement is completely overworked and the chrono at six is now counting 60 minutes (instead of 30), when activated. You can actually start and stop the chronograph in a pressure up to 100bars (1000m). No Breitling I know of can do that. And remember that the full case is made of tegimented (extra hardened) Uboat-steel. And I am pretty sure that this watch will rise in prise, soon.
  22. I wouldn't risk my or others life in a fake car. Nor would I use replica pills. Really something different to watches...
