  1. How do the gen and rep deployants compare?
  2. I like that line. For some reason, I have always associated big watches with the guido fashions, like ed hardy and fake tans. I think it's because the trends started around the same time, and they both are very 'in your face'.
  3. What kind of microphone does it use? The built in one?
  4. Yeah, I am also wondering what the hype is about. I am not trying to bash or anything, it's a honest question. I have seen all the excitement at WUS, and have not been able to figure out what makes this watch special. Isn't it just another sub homage with an eta movement? Again, not trying to put the watch down, just trying to figure it out.
  5. Breitling makes some of the best quartz watches (gen) out there. Thermo compensated, accurate to plus minus 15 secs a year! Check out the Emergency, B1, Aerospace, Colt, etc. Anyway, I would love a good Aerospace rep. I haven't seen anything close, nor have I seen anywhere to buy correct 988 series ETA movements.
  6. Do all models of rep cases require modification to accept gen movements, or is it just the portu's?
  7. I love my older amphibian (labeled Boctok). I found it N.O.S. in a thrift store, with original box and papers, apparently it was built in 1990. Very dependable, I wear it snowboarding and it has survived many an impact and drop into snow banks. It looks great on an original Bond nato, it just so happens to have some of all the colors in the watch. It is sized perfectly for my 7.5" wrists, although I am vehemently opposed to the current huge watch trend.
  8. I saw the technology on display at the NAWCC Museum this weekend. It was pretty sweet but I don't know how well it would translate into a watch.
  9. Looks great! Mind if I ask what mods you had to do to get it to that point?
  10. "Endless threads about what watch to wear when washing your ass or balls".... classic. Thanks for all the kind words, can't wait to get started.
  11. Hi all, Rodge here. I forget how I found this site, but have spent pretty much all of the last 24hours lurking here. Was reading WUS a lot, and thought if I had to read another "I have 2 grand, which watch should I buy??" thread I was going to throw my computer. It seems everyone here knows a hell of a lot more about watches, and actually interacts with them, beyond buying them and throwing them in a box. As an engineer/chronic tinkerer this excites me. I am looking forward to buying a few reps just to then rip them apart. Wish me luck! -Rodge
