  1. It used to be a practicality thing I think because the bracelet or strap hurt the hand when writing. But I think that is becoming a lot less of an issue these days. It is almost to the point where I've forgotten how to write cursively. I am back to second grade with block letters. /Tim
  2. That is the second time I've heard about Watchmaster. Who is it? A dealer? /Tim
  3. I didn't say I'd buy one!! Someone was looking for them though. /Tim
  4. I couldn't find the original message, but just a few days ago someone asked where they could get plastic watches that look like Submariners. Just so happens that Google put an ad on the RWG page for a place selling these things. So if you are looking: http://www.pranagioia.com/vabene It would be funny if it turned out to be a scammer site! /Tim
  5. Since my last message went over like a lead balloon and killed the conversation, I will try to join in the spirit of the thread. Pussy wearing a YM!!!!!!!! /Tim
  6. Well of course the more expensive one! If I might make a suggestion, look at eBay item #110106215028. It is from Swiss Army who as a brand gets no respect whatsoever even though they had a high end line (I think they finally gave up about two years ago). But the damn thing has got a Valjous 7750 in it and the guy will accept $450 for the watch. (He'll take $415 for the leather.) Double AR coat, nice case, nice dial, and perfectly working chrono of course. I've bought three of them in the past from this seller. They all keep perfect time--off no more than one minute a month. I get them with the metal bracelet and take the bracelet off and put on an Italian rubber band Item #250096516352) and it looks very sharp. I keep the bracelet on the side in case I ever want to sell the one I kept (always a good idea to do that since you get more for the watch if it has a metal bracelet). Gave the other two as gifts and they went over VERY well. And the price? I don't think you can by an uncased Swiss 7750 movement for that price. /Tim
  7. Good god man! You better be staying out of each other's underwear drawer!! /Tim (yikes.... the pictures killed the conversation so I took them out)
  8. Which genuine Omega parts will fit one of our currently available Seamasters? Dial? Bezels? Bezel inserts? I am mostly interested in the standard Seamasters, not the Chronos. /Tim

  10. Let me guess, you caught something unmentionable in polite conversation and your naughty bits fell off? /Tim
  11. He also missed "Totally boring to the gay members of the list." /Tim
  12. I always understood a tart to mean a borderline woman for hire--barter accepted. /Tim
  13. What prices are they? Is one a better deal? /Tim
  14. Can we put a sticky in one of the sections, probably dealer review, that informs people what to expect so far as contacting one of the dealers. And maybe what a trypical customer experience is for any given dealer. Maybe we can lead the sticky with the assertion that they would not be recommended dealers on the board if they were going to take your money and run. I am relatively new here, but even to me it is damn annoying to have newbies constantly post that I have not heard from so-and-so dealer and I sent them a message 5 minutes ago. Then whenever they post these silly questions we can simply refer them to the sticky message and tell them to read. /Tim
  15. Which dealer did you get it from? Davidson? Wanted to check to see if anyone else was offering the correct cannon pin out of the box. /Tim [add] Nevermind. Just saw from the title that you got it from River. I haven't tried River yet and thought Davidson was the only one offering the correct cannon pin.
  16. Read about this problem in another thread. Just curious, has anyone tried a bezel remover tool on these buggers yet? Just wondering if the proper tool is any more successful than just a case knife. /Tim
  17. Who is "watchmasters" and who is carrying MBWs these days? I see the MBW reference a lot but never see any of our mainline dealers offering an MBW version. /Tim
  18. Nanuq! So what they told me about you is true!! You only date dogs.... /Tim
  19. Why did you freeze the subdial? I thought that was only necessary on the models with the mangled asian valjoux. /Tim
  20. Also easier when you remove the bracelet or strap and attack it in the area between the lugs. I didn't remove the bracelet the first time I took off a bezel and put a nice scratch on the bracelet. A blunt knife might be a good try, I use a case knife and it is always a precarious line between getting the bezel off, scratching the hell out of a watch, or slicing your finger. Someday I am going to buy a bezel removing tool but they are expensive and I don't have to to remove one that often. Dremel tool is handy for any f*ck-ups. /Tim
  21. TTK--seriously, hope your feeling better. Take care of yourself. That's more important than a watch. Cheers! /Tim
  22. If I were Angela Jolie I bet you'd share with me. Hoarder! /Tim
  23. How similar are the crystals on the Panerai? Are there just one or two type of crystals on the 44m models for instance? Do you think we would have any luck getting a couple of blanks and just getting them done? I am going to want one for a 44mm base, but I am not ready for it yet. /Tim
