WEll, Bill. It's not just you. Back in RWG1 days, it was delightful and fun experience to learn about watches. Members discussed difference between Rep vs Gen watches, not so much about I paid how much and this is what I got type of post. Many posts were about sharing thoughts and exchange of informations (with occasional TTK's fireworks and Bricky's grilling session for good reasons). I had a chance to drop by Tourneau today and tried on Subs and Ferrari PAMs. It is just that despite of price, gen is gen and rep is rep. When you lose curiosity and enthusiasm, it becomes nothing more than forum for ranting buyer's remorse. I hope that this forum will return to its root soon. Always enjoy yout post and insight, Bill.

Korean custom has been catching people illegally bringing in replica watches to Korea. Three guys tried to sneak in 196 watches ( Bvlgary, Rolex, Cartier). They wanted to make some money to help their daily living supposely. They have to pay quite a bit of fine. I would concur what TTK posted. Actually, I have order PAM for friend of mine who likes my PAM rep. He lives in multi million $ house and owns business. He can easily afford gen but he doesn't care. It is fun for him.

Well, my 063(EL version) has longer hand(GMT) as it is shown @ Paneristi. Sash's version is shorter. Replica watch guide pointed as short is correct. But i'm not 100% sure.

I just saw this thread. SInce , I'm totally noob on PAM( I only have one 063 so far), how different for EL 063 date wheel vs finepic date wheel? It seems bolder and bigger? I'm trying to have it serviced by vaccum since GMT hand is running slower (it does not sync with hour hand: say @ 8PM, GMT had would be between numbers instead of set hour). If this datewheel is important upgrade, I would love to get one.

Have you checked out Davidsen's new pams? I'm still waiting for better version. Meantime, I'm checking out Hamilton GMT Air Race with ETA 2893-1. for under $500, it looks good.

Well, I know my EL 063 (which I got it from flavor flav) has few flaws, but I did not know until I compared it with photos of gen. Interestingly, Hamilton Khaki GMT with 2893-2 movement which is GMT movement for PAM genuine costs around $600.00. Design of Hamilton is not that bad and I am considering it to get it. Despite of shortcomings of PAM reps, they are getting better and as one member put it before, majority has no idea. BTW, I'm still waiting for Davidsen to make correct font for 111h.

Last night, I was at my school alum's place for X-Mas dinner. He owns couple of PP( World time & Annual Cal). He noticed my EL 063 and told me that other guy (Who just left to go to airport but coming back in couple of hours) was wearing something similar. He looked at mine and asked me about price. I told him it is rep and told him that most PAM use ETA movements , often even identical to rep movement. When he came back, I realized his was 005. most everyone else, including guy with 005 couldn't tell the difference of quality by looking and holding these two. In my hands, 005 felt no different than EL 063. I think he paid $3k range. VErdict? I would not pay sveral thousands $ for gen PAM. I would get something else (watch) for that money. (BTW, I know he owns Cartier, Rollie Daytona also~$7k). He did not seem to be happy about it,lol. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Does Pure Time sell 111h modded that way or you have to put special order for that? I've been planning to get good 111h but Davidsen's version came little short according to our PAM experts.

One of the most abundant mineral on mother earth is Titanium. As many people know, it is even used for dental implant for over 20 yrs now. It is just that Ti oxidized easily and difficult to weld or manipulate. As far as I understand. So, it Ti watch is expensive, it may have something to do with producing watch out of it. Just my 2cc.

Gen version is already sold out since it was limited run of 2500(I think that's what I read). Damn, my thin wrist. 44mm is my limit.

Water proof stuff is one thing. This one seems fish. (well, according to phoband, I get the drift). Rolexaward time?

@TTK: better still get them to buy a Noobmariner from me.. By any chance, is it still available? May be in different colors?(Pepsi dial for instance? :your test result was quite amazing!). @ TVT: as you are saying, I would not venture into water or far away country trave with $$$ gen watch unless you are heading to some place really nice. My point is that so often, people are into nip picking of font size or color of lume , dial size etc, while functional aspect of watches, in here would be H2O resistant or proof, is so forgivngen just cause it is a fake or rep. I'm glad that some dealers are actually putting H2O proofing as part of watch.

Well, some dealers' watches are claimed that they are waterproof and tested. In truth, I have no idea if it is true. There will be a people tell you that if you are worried about taking your watch off and pointed out for being rep, then by the gen watch( which kinda beats the purpose of posting this thread), so don't be offended by it( happen too many times). I do agree with you , however, if $50.00 Timex is water proof or resistant, why not several hundreds dollor rep shoudn't be waterproof? At least, we should be able to ask that question.
