  1. Thanks for the comparo. Very nicely done. I can see the difference between Davidsen's and Palp. If possible, I would do the same as you've done. I don't know if Davidsen has changed 111h dial yet or not. Nobody confirmed it yet. I'm thinking of getting 111h for my own X-mas gift.
  2. May the Lord comfort you and your family. Soyy for your loss...
  3. Is it necessary to replace Crown and CG with Palp ver2.1 over Davidsen's?
  4. It looks great. What about 111h? Will it have new dial with correct font and new lume that being on 005? Please, let us know. Thanks!
  5. Well, man can dream , right?
  6. It's free market and people will pay for what they want, I know that. BUT, it is sheer display of human greed in worst sense. Disgusting. No one will die for not being able to buy PS3 on first day. I remember some idiots bought number of Mazda Miatas when it was hot dreaming of inflated premiums. That guy went belly up due to lack of timing.
  7. It is sad to see old RWG is faltering to ashes. For in many months, I dropped in, but nobody was there. No one familiar.
  8. That's great news! BTW, if I pull the trigger on 111h, it will be my first buy from Davidsen. For his pricing , is it as it is shown on his post or he gives different price a EL often does? Just curious for other's experience.
  9. I would like to get a full set for my 063 GMT. Will they have better lume btw?
  10. Quote: I don't care if you were taking the Medical Boards Just beside the topic, but have you ever taken any board exams(medical, dental , anything)? It is easier said than done. There are many members here who had gone through that, so please, be nice.
  11. So, any update with Davidsen's 111h for listed flaws correction? I'd rather buy few really good reps for slightly higher price than many cheap lower end reps. How many more generations before the land of milk and honey?
  12. Vanity, my friend, vanity. I saw real version and it looks o.k. I do use ceramic bur for tissue contouring which works very nicely compare to ss bur, btw.
  13. For some, it becomes mantra to justify shortcomings of the rep watches. For some, it reminds that Gen watches may give you the little more piece of mind. For some, it becomes excuse for throwing away then buy another one. For some, it becomes excuse for quality problem. For some, it becomes partial reminder that you are the one who bought it.
  14. IT was originally over $100 plus, then was on a discounted price list. As you are saying, nowdays, I decided to purchase only higher end rep with most likely ETA movement. (It will be an another matter of debate as in the past). At leaset, local watchsmith can find parts easily with ETA(for me anyway). Thanks for the input.
  15. @ pman @narikaa Hey, it's npt about money I'm asking about. I deal with my clients same wheather it involved $90 or $10,000. I like the watch, so I ordered it. I'll repair the watch because I like it(mathmatically, not a good one since I threw the question about spending $60 for repairing $88 watch already). For example, someone got yours and 2 month later, it broke , then do you replace it or give discount toward next purchase etc? I'm not here to play black and white or grey. I would like to see if there is a clear cut guideline so that we can enjoy our little hobby.
  16. Quote: It's only a rep....it's only 88 bucks.....and if that's a major issue....then, respectfully, this may not be the right hobby for you. It's always a gamble. Gamble with the play money.....not the grocery money Thanks for the input. However, it was not about money issue but about what would be the reasonable period of time for both end that refund/repair would be done. As I stated early, it is a part of the game that we have to play. (I even have history with infamous RWG watch fiasco). But, there seems to be no clear cut guideline about it.
  17. I have a question for the rest of members. As many of us purchase rep watches, we often end up with DOA watches or watches doing fine until few weeks later, problem stem from normal wear. I have not discussed with dealer yet. Thing is that it was special discounted item ($88.00) and we had to ship it back and forth couple of times.(we both spent money for the shipping). Few weeks after, retrograding date hand started malfunctioning as it started misaligned then completely off. I show it to local watchsmith for the repair. It will cost about $60.00. So, there, $60 repair for $88.00 rep. What would be dealer's responsibility in terms of time duration. Should dealer be only liable for say first 30 days or more or less? I am asking general consensus so that we can have amicable and mutually beneficial relation between collectors and dealers. I don't know much about our forum dealer's individual after service policy. Again, this question is not to make an issue out of quality check which in most case, not possible and that's part of the game. However, money is hard and cold, they don't come easy and we have to earn to get it. Thanks!
  18. I PMed Davidsen regarding movement. He's answer was that it is indeed Swiss movement with modification. I guess cosmetic part would be the modification as base movement is Swiss movement. May be Davidsen can correct misspelling of the engraving and produce new dial with correct font?
  19. Eversince I got to know Panerai, I wasn't into it at all, initially. Somehow, I was bitten by PAM bug and bought 063 GMT( which I'm trying to change hands set and relume). I've been reading threads about PAM111h and many were waitiing for Davidsen's ultimo 111h. I'm stilll new to PAM but according to spec, he took care of canon pinion issue, crown guard, sapphire w/ AR. He confirmed that it is indeed swiss movement w/ mod. Not a chinese copy. SInce, I have GMT, I want to get simple and classic PAM, which to me , it is 111h. I would like to get PAM experts' opinion about plunging on this one. Thanks in advance.

Wow, this Saga never dies.... I did not know that Blade actually sent out rest of the watches. May be I can get mine replaced since it came with chipped face. Anyhow, if someone did receive the watch and kept the donated money also, then such action can't be any better than Blade's. At least, he delivered rest of'em. Something to think about. Hmmm
  21. Sorry to hear that.I know which one you're talking about. As soon as I saw it, I clicked on , but your post was ther so I did not bother to PM the seller. Someone must've PMed w/o posting show of interest post. I wander if it is a necessary to post a sign of interest so that other people should wait rather than having bidding frenzy or this type of sour note. Just my 2cc
  22. Thanks Rob. As stated, mine is 2836-2 mod for GMT movement, but I hope it is equally good one. Regarding servicing of PAMrep and mod, and Re-lume of hands and markers, what is your usual procedure? Would you PM me about this? Thanks!
  23. Well, I think it's about understanding what to expect from automatic movement. Right now, without adjusting, since time of post, it is about 20 sec ticking ahead of time. If that's the way it would be, then I\ll just have to accept that. BTW, well come back The Zigmeister. Your advice is always welcome.
