  1. Can you check if this could fit? Especially the retaining ring...here the measurements from yuki's site: The outer diameter of the bezel is 39.5 mm ,Outer diameter of the retaining ring is 36 mm, inner diameter of the retaining ring is 30 mm. Thickness of the bezel with bezel insert is 4.00mm. Dean
  2. Ohh c'mon, tell us more ...how's the black dial print? is it visible at all? Bezel action? Push and turn like original? And 6 o'clock subdial, is it really geared for 60 min? That's all actually... Thx Dean
  3. yeah, and the bezel seems to lack in height... With the new bezel, to adjust it - press down in the direction of the yellow arrows, the gap between the bezel and case (blue arrows) will narrow. Then you can turn and adjust the bezel. once released, the Bezel will spring back up and lock - no more accidental movements. ...could this be the reason? And then...what about the 3 o'clock subdial & Ar mark? Maybe it's the pics... Dean
  4. Current XJ is a run out model, so you should get a good deal on it. All new XJ launch is in London in June '09 (with sales to start early 2010) - this car will not be a traditional Jag, but much more like the new XF - think along the lines of Audi A7, Mercedes CLS and such - definitely a different target customer. Smallest gasoline engine will be N/A 5.0 liter V8, aside from 3.0l V6 diesels. Dean
  5. ...however, very inaccurate dial. Angus, this movement is not going to work...
  6. It's not plastic. It's at least mineral glass. Dean
  7. Maybe mine is a lemon? Maciek, can you ask the dealer if he can get this part for me? Actual print is not on the buttons. Buttons are chromed pieces while print is on a separate frame that can be detached from the keyboard. Alternatively, anyone with paint filling experience? Dean
  8. Our rep is 204gr. , battery and card installed. I have no way of testing real Ti, but I can see copper color beneath the paint. Wife's is the same, but I had no reason to disassemble it, plus, she would beat me Anyway, paint is applied really well. Right, but casting & finishing is far more complicated with Ti, no? D
  9. That's what I thought as it feels like plastic. BUT - and you can try it yourself - remove the two screws next to the power button. Slide the earphone part towards the power button and remove it, and then try to scratch the "plastic" on the side. Tell us about the noise you will hear... Anyway, it's glass, at least on mine, that is. Dean
  10. Don't have my cam with me so no pics, but it's painted brass, I tried to scratch it a little where it's not visible and bronze/copper color is beneath. Also the shiny bits are chromed brass. It was me who said window was plastic, but now I'm positive it's glass, again, not sure if sapphire, but glass 100%. Don't know about numbers, I posted earlier how numbers on mine are bolder then on my wifes example (and there the numbers are still fine), but now it's coming off, and I didn't really use it much, as a matter of fact, today was a first walk with me as I fixed the phonebook only yesterday. Dean
  11. Not that I wan't to pee on someone's parade here...but...I had a small issue with a joystick on the phone which needed a disassembly - pretty straight forward and doesn't take more than 2 minutes. Bad news - it's a heavy phone and feels very substantial because it's NOT made of Ti but painted brass. Some good news - leather seems to be from an animal (hopefully) and screen cover IS glass, not sure if sapphire, but it is glass. On a side note - Maciek - can you ask our trusted dealer if he can provide spares? I would need a frame that has letters painted on them. As you know, I have two phones and while my wife's example is perfect, paint is coming off buttons on mine, in about two weeks there will be none left. Could this be a warranty case? Great phone and terrific conversation topic after all. That's it - I just can't keep my mouth shut Dean
  12. Yeah, every good phonebook deserves cleaning once in a while , ask me how I know... My primary is HTC TyTN2 - can't match the style of Vertu rep though Dean
  13. It's plastic. High gloss. Also, tighten all the screws upon receiving... Dean
  14. Yep, yours is working like a charm. Using Outlook contacts. This is it, solved. Dean
  15. 2.1.4. will install, but still one field only. Trying your find..
  16. Just downloading version 2.1.4 ?! of the MTK Phone SUITE...will report back Dean
  17. There is, it's called a VK618 PC Sync Manager build 7, but i can't find it. Although that one also supports only 13 char name and one phone # Dean
  18. Yep, that's the one. Works fine via bluetooth com port. Attached is the USB emu driver if someone can get it to work. Dean mtk_6227__Driver_New.rar
  19. After a long long long research I have managed to trace a PC sync solution for our new phones. Nokia PC suite will not work. This set is based around MTKs MT6227 chipset and there IS a Mediatek software that works! There are some limitations though, as the last software version is from 2004 and those are: - software supports outlook, lotus notes and outlook express sync with 13 character name limitation & only ONE phone number (phone on the other hand supoorts multiple numbers and longer names, but those can't be synced), so you should create a new phbook file just for this sync - there is a usb driver for the chipset, but i couldn't manage to get it work, so I used bluetooth connection from my pc with a virtual com port that software happily recognizes - software can be run directly from folder without installation as it has problem installing without above mentioned usb driver working - it has some other cute features that i didn't play with as i had enough already Now, if someone has a rapidshare or similar account let me know and I will gladly share this with everybody Regards, Dean
  20. I didn't give up yet, the problem is my card supports 230 contacts and I had about 450 that needed to be transferred...many, many compatibility issues between various devices and software....done, but don't ask...
  21. Taka, I tried, but no way PC Suite would recognize the phone....spent two days transferring the contacts in various ways... Dean
